Epidermal appendages is generally single layered after which there is cortex , then endodermis having casparian strips which is made up of suberin, which is impervious to water.

Can you just explain these lines of ncert of this topic properly.... As water evaporates into the intercellular spaces or the atmosphere tension develop in the continuous stream of water in the Apoplast hence mass flow of water occurs due to the adhesive and cohesive properties of water? Okay imagine water droplet which are in a continuous series like one behind the other in a line water has to move forward now!! So when it enters into epidermal cell and then next it comes out from the cell and is between epidermal cell and cortex THE INTERCELLULAR REGION here the tension is created the next droplet should follow and come into the cell it moves into the cell by adhesive and cohesive force!!!! It's just like u are standing in a line and u will move ahead if the person who is standing before u moves if u don't move when the person standing ahead of u has already gone ahead ppl behind u will create stress on u 😂 and with tat force u will go one step aheaf

Dear sir for ur info apoplast is non living pathway in the form of cell wall not membrane. Movement through membrane is called vacular pathway. Movement through plasmodesmata is called symplast pathway.
