How Do Sling Angles Affect Load Ratings and Capacity?
You’ve got your sling and you’re ready to lift, but first you need to make sure you’re taking careful consideration regarding the angle of your sling. What sling angle is best for the lift? Who should have the final sign off before we start lifting? What should I do when using a basket hitch?
In this video we are going to address those questions so that you can be confident that you’re getting the most out of your lift, measuring your sling angle correctly and keeping up with safety standards.

As a crane operator, i have made a mistake...a pair of 3 ton chains can lift 6 ton weight of mass hahahahaha but no worries, now im a certified lifting supervisor 😁

@ 4:22 In the UK, that comment is incorrect. Crane operators don't know about sling tensions, crane operators do one thing, operate the crane.

A crane operator is always responsible for performing a safe lift. If your crane operator can't tell if something is properly rigged, they probably should not be operating a crane.

@@LiftingandRigging Sure, but we have 3 levels of lifting. Basic, intermediate, and complex. Only, the basic, is the operator allowed to take their own initiative as the lift is inside the regular training of the operator. Intermediate or complex, the Appointed Person (AP)(the one that makes the lift plan) controls or supervises the lifting operations.
