Not to much of a steal when he can’t stay healthy . Guys his size end up getting injured a lot . He’s been dealing with a foot injury and a knee injury throughout his college career

@@willyschwerin the point is you cannot predict injuries no matter if the player has had injuries in the past or not, so why even dwell on it? especially with a guy like Darnell Washington who was objectively one of the best value picks of the entire 2023 NFL draft. He’s healthy right now and that’s what matters.

If he slips past the 2nd and half the third, I’d say the actual professionals rated him rather accurately. I’d say he was a second round talent that got reduced down to the third round due to injury concerns.

Kiper doesn’t know shit! After the first pick EVERY draft is pretty much a crapshoot. First rounds guys have an idea where teams will pick but no one really knows. With that said, Omar Khan had a hell of a draft. First 4 picks were perfect team needs with 3 of them fringe first round talents. I think Keanu Benton may turn out to be one of the best interior D lineman. Steelers need to stop other teams running games. The addition of Fahoko with Heyward and Ogunjobi should be a solid front on the D. I’m excited for this season. A lot of new talent and starters.

They did well. As a giants fan, I finally feel like my coach and GM are on the same page. They addressed every major need and got backups at thin spots and even prepped in case Barkley doesn’t want to play under the tag. For 19 years the giants needed o line help and they’d draft one hear and one there every other year while signing nobody. Meanwhile teams like the chiefs rebuild with 4 new starters. We were stuck for a while. It was horrible.

@@fourgum284 he has not had good history of drafting, he’s had some like the past two to three years. He’s always paying top dollar to mediocre talent. Last few yes okay I’m with you, but he has way more bust. After the triplets there was not much going on. The main thing I was pointing out that the Steelers has always found great talent that is hidden jewels and not have to go buy top dollar guys that is going to be a strain on the cap.

The Eagles are crushing it. Surprised Roseman had been there as long as he had, but he's built a GREAT team and he's drafting brilliantly. Kinda stumbled into a couple guys like that giant LT, but just pilling up the OL and DL. The Steelers are...doing fine, but there seems like a little over-hyping of their picks. "How do they keep getting away with it!"

But he's still got a great team. Shit, the Steelers have drafted better year over year. Again though, who gives a shit if you draft Dillard in the 1st round if you find a franchise LT as an UDFA, right? Anyway, I'm a Packers fan who watched as the Packers built through finesse for years and has just kinda placed more of an emphasis on the DL, more physical edges, DBs(OL has always been a priority). But that's the one thing that'd been missing. Aaron Rodgers had I think 2 top 10 defenses, one top 5(won the SB). Watching Philly, Pitt, SF, you don't need Mahomes(it helps, not arguing against that). But if you can pressure the QB, protect him, open up running lanes and then close 'em on the other side, you can win with a good, not great QB. Which is what I think Hurts is...and maybe Pickett...and honestly, even Big Ben who is clearly a HOF wasn't ever the best, but they had an identity. People may not agree with the last sentence, but I stand by the larger point.

@@lionellong638 Well...kinda. He also really threw a fit when they drafted Love. Anyway, they gave him offensive talent, but the defenses were never good enough. Some of it was bad luck(career ending injuries to a guy on a HOF trajectory in Nick Collins, a big, physical safety, a #1 CB Shields, others like Finley, and Murphy). But mostly, Ted Thompson was just terrible. Then Gutekunst gets there, he spends 200M in Free Agency and next year Covid hits...and the cap drops. So that was bad luck, but shit happens. Though...he did have some chances and didn't play like he was capable of, but he's gone. Love may be just as physically talented(maybe even moreso with his size) but so much of it is anticipation and reading the defense...we'll have to see. Darius Slay did say it looked like a young Rodgers last year when he brought us back a few times vs the Eagles. We eventually lost 40-33, but he looked good. We'll see how it translates with 9 young WRers and TEs drafted in the last two years and still a pretty good OL in place.
