Nice one TMM! Speedkicks once said in the LUYG Tutorial that you can deal with Hworang also from distance. Against RFF (when his hand goes down) you can step to your left. You can also step to you right after he does 1,2.

I realized I needed this video. Hwoarang is the hardest opponent in the game when played well, I think. He isn't top-tier but he is relentless. He loves walls but then so do I with Jin.

I'd like to suggest a continuation of this series for tekken 7. since the character list is smaller, I'd like to see more of this stuff for all the characters. I know that this would be a major up taking and would totally understand if it wasn't possible. But as someone that doesn't understand frame data fully, this has helped me a lot. I know that this series seems to be more geared towards "cheap" character but I think it would be useful to have a better understanding of how each character works and what their go to moves are to look out for.

As a advanced Hwoarang player myself i totally agree with a lot on this video, when being pressured as Hwoarang you are completely shut down and often forced to block and space. Characters in my opinion i that are good vs Hwoarang are : Dragunov, Mishimas, Bryan and Steve. With Law, when Hwoarangs are off guard, I would catch some of them with d+2,3. it was a risk, but sometimes I had to take a risk.

After d3,4 I never ever go for b3. On normal hit and on block RFS f4 is not steppable. (same with almost anything to LFS f3). If I want to try to launch from RFS, df4 is safe so b3 has almost no use, and even as a scrubby hwoarang I know not to really use that move. If the high "4" in any of these strings CH - df34, d34, 334, 33d34 - then you are +20 and df4 is a guaranteed launch, so I tend to fish for df4 all the time. None of his low/high mid/high strings jail so duck all of them. d34 is one of the only strings that you can't duck the second hit on normal hit, but other than that you can duck almost every second high on normal hit (some become guaranteed on CH - d44, db44, etc... but there is no reason not to at least try to duck if you recognize the string) Worth noting - his ws 4,4 is safe. (rbnorway frame data is down atm). So don't try to launch it like a mishima ws44 on block. Also, non-just frame skyrockets should be punished... A lot of scrubby hwo players just throw out the skyrocket without the sparks way more than they should. (jack can even f2 punish the JFSR) The best advice I would give as a former scrub hwoarang main to deal with flamingo pressure, would be after you block anything, dickpunch until he starts to try to do moves that crush dickpunch out of flamingo - like hunting hawk, uf 3+4 from LFS... I don't think he has anything in RFS that low crushes (his RFS uf3 has a jump animation but pretty much doesn't low crush at all). If you have a fast-ish mid that high crushes, and especially if it also sidesteps, not a bad idea either (capo b2 wrecks flamingo pressure). He also has ZERO knee or elbow moves (or headbutts or anything else some chars can't parry) so if you have a good parry, use it. The slow ass kazama parry messes hwo up if he can't chicken it (I used to use the baseball bat item move from flamingo in T6 when asukas were wrecking me with the parry :^)... since I couldn't chicken). I would definitely agree that stepping him in flamingo is a good idea, but only if the hwo player doesn't use cerebellum kicks or whatever its called (LFS f3 or RFS f4). His LFS b3 and RFS b4 are just homing in this game, but in t7 they are homing, power crushes, and screw moves :^^^^^) so yeah, his pressure will be quite a bit different - along with no LFS db3 RFS db4, baek b1.... etc

Yeah JDCR recently got flamingo-raped by Speedkicks in Final Round 20, but he still won against Speedkicks. Once JDCR broke Speedkicks' momentum, that's when Speedkicks just held back and went on the defensive route. Allowing JDCR (using Drag) to overwhelm him with low-to-mid mix-ups and throws.

Can u do a remake for tekken 7? Its hard to pressure him now cuz now he has an armored launcher. Shit is outrageous

its pretty frustrating when you're using a character who has NO way to get out of the hwoarang pressure, regardless how much i've fought against Hwo, with the slight lag and delays, it's still tough to block or side step at the right time, i say he's one of those online characters that can just safely throw out strings and do quite well

To get out of the Hwoarang rape I've found varying degrees of success with a move I like to call the "pressure cooker" which is basically just a crouching 1 jab (provided that a character has one which most do). This has worked well to get out of pressure situations against other characters as well. Very simple quick move that alot of players don't even think to use. It is risky if an opponent does a mid crush or low parry but most players can't anticipate it on reaction.

You need good muscle memory to beat Hwo's Flamingo Bullsh#t, I'll say. Timing those side steps correctly during an actual battle can be tricky. I think I will rather try to interrupt his flamingos with regular punches...if possible ^^' He he

Next in the queue should be annoying woman like Alisa, Lili or even Asuka. People have problems with those characters, especially with defending or wall pressure.

"Flamingo Raped" lol I agree that H'rang is weak against pressure. For me its just a matter of anticipating when he's going to go low.

For advanced hwoarang players the beginning of every match is determining how much of this shit that you actually know & exploiting what you don't. You have to know these holes if you want to stop getting beat down.

For the transition to FR though a lot of these things have been edited or removed. 4444 ends with a high and 4443 ends with a mid, so even less people will spam that string d/f4,3 is removed, d3,4 has increased pushback on hit. RFS d4,3 is more annoying.

If there's anything that i've learned maining Hwoarang, its that offensively, Hwoarang is a beast, but defensively (especially in his punish game), Hwo is REALLY not that strong. Often, we're using 1,1 or 4,3 to punish stuff. Also, with a huge lack of WS launchers, Hwo doesn't get much for blocked sweeps (RARELY, he can do a delayed hopkick punish. super inconsistent). And to top it, Hwo often is left wide open in FLA, so there's always risk involved with Hwoarang. Really, spacing well, knowing what's punishable and stepping correctly (step Hwo opposite of the stance he's in, if i recall) just destroys most hwo's.

Anybody here knows how to play ttt2 online on a jtaged xbox 360 cause I am at a point where no online playtime is effecting my growth as a tekken player I can destroy my friends at it with no prob & also play at ultra hard difficult setting like it's nothing & also know the move sets of the characters which other players normally use

you should know your match ups and key moves for all characters atleast and learn there frame data for those key moves if nothing else bc letting people get away with moves you can launch is a bad idea

A noob hwo that spamm strings is so easy to punish i dont know where the problem is ofcourse his pressure with flamingo is strong and even good players can eat hwo pressure but still hwo is not a noob spamm character like ling or eddy. You can punish a hwo properly if played right. I didnt need alot of time in practise for hwo. But for eddy and ling i needet like alot of time to even come close to punish something from ling and eddy

Hwoarang is bad, REALLY BAD. Very easy to counter. His best moves are: 1. Jabs (and options to flamingo) 2. LFS d+3,4 (not the plain LFF d+3,4 which is 17 frames) Everything else is average to meh. For example his RFS d+4,3 and d+4,4 options you showcased has 4 results: Hwoarang gets advantage, Hwoarang does 27 damage, Hwoarang is launched and Hwoarang is launched again. Quite simply you NEVER do it. Most of his "options" are like this.

These videos are too early. Tekken 7 is almost out and ttag2 is nothing like it at all. Its a big comeback factor now that balances the game if u getting destroyed. As for hworang. You could simply look at his moves in training mode and actually figure out how to stop them, or when to low parry. U could of parried all of that. You seem like a stale blocker that holds block for more than 3 seconds. Which is a no no.
