Avoid family owned and operated companies. They get bored and attempt to pit coworkers against each other for entertainment. Its fucked up. They wont fire you, just make you quit and blacklist you.

Sociopaths seems to get along with each other pretty well. My supervisor so happens to be a sociopath. It's a terrible situation. 😒 You just have to stay away and ahead of them, and make the least amount of mistakes as possible.

I'm in a bad spot like that. My supervisor is a psychopath or sociopath. He exhibits little emotion. Even bragged about his poker face in a meeting this week! (Everyone laughed, except me.) My coworker is a narcissist. They get along together very well. I unfortunately, work in between them. Before the old boss left, she gave each of them a promotion, but not me. (She's socio I think, and used to come scream at me about things I never even understood.) So, I'm now subordinate to the two others. The only subordinate in the office. I have talked to my new boss about this, but he won't do anything. He said in this last meeting if there is a problem between two people, you have to work it out between yourselves. The senior supervisor said the exception to that is with a subordinate, there have to be three people in the room. In the meantime, I've been given as many as 84 tasks to do in one day, requiring long hours, while my coworker gets 3 to 10 tasks a day. I have proof of this on paper, but no one will do anything. I'm their dumping ground, doing the tasks they refuse. They stand in the halls and laugh and gossip. I barely have time to eat lunch or go to the bathroom. I have to lock my stuff up before going to the bathroom for fear they will do something to my food or water, or steal my things. The supervisor changes clothes in my tiny office before I get there, and I found pubic hair in there. I showed my boss, but again he did nothing. I have been submitting applications for months, but no luck yet. Having come from an abusive home with a socio-narc mother, I can't believe I'm having to endure such hate again.

Unfortunately you cant really work with them if you're their target, you cant win. I've learned if you push back they love it and its going to ramp up their behavior. Its a reward for them when you acknowledge, that's the sick part. If you find an answer to dealing with them once youre in their crosshairs ive love to hear it but IMO once theyve locked on you either have to get them removed or you remove yourself from that place.

Best thing you can do (until you’re able to quit or leave) is be aloof… don’t react to their games etc.. grey rock. Pretend to not care too much basically even when they do their worst stuff. They’ll see you as stupid and move on to another victim.

Testing to find out if someone is a fit to your company and their as sociopath won’t do you any good whatsoever. They know how to manipulate the tests. Only time can tell you what you’re dealing with.

Don't understand the snickering. Sociopaths do indeed rule the roost, and the rest of us must pay for them gaining positions of power. Sociopaths view people as either co-conspirators or prey; often, co-conspirators become prey. Furthermore, why doesn't the presenter answer the farkin' question? Conducting psychological testing is rife with problems, and invite lawsuits given today's environment.

Can't change a sociopath from adult age. The best that can happens is they give subtle words they are crazy and you should believe them. They are indirectly telling you, don't get involve furthermore.

franknhonest I knew three people, two at work and one at college, who I believed were psychopathic. If talking was an Olympic sport, they'd win gold medals. If you stood my co-worker in a field, he'd argue all day about the colour of the grass. I tend to find the real trigger for psychopaths is when they have to do something tangible. That is when they reveal their true colours, the anger, the egoism, the arrogance, the laziness , the fecklessness and passing the buck. When I told other employees about his bad temper they'd look at me as if to say, "Are you talking about the same person?". For the record, I quit in the end.

Reward is KEY. Reward behavior that you want to see. No shaming. No criticism. Ignore bad behaviour. Reward the good. Praise. Ask for advice Listen and validate. If they take offense, sincerely apologize. These things are more effective.

Guys i have big problems. My groupboss, is probley sociopath. He is stressing me everyday, making me feel like im slow and not doing my job correctly. Accusing me of being lazy, and always stressing me about what the "big bosses" will think about my performance. He has created a group, that works very hard, so he dont have to , pretty much. Its a very strange feeling working with him
