Thank you JackSpry9736 for taking the time. The moment when we wanted that info, as we listen to this, maybe the best of Tony's DUETS. He never allowed himself a favorite, but there's this tear streaming down his left cheek at song's end. Goosebumps, ev'ry time.

What a blessing, right? And to think everything is at our fingertips, just enter "Tony and Aretha" and you're taken here. In fully 3 seconds. As I tell the grand kids (8 of 'em) this is the best time in human history to be alive. Your comment frankbarcelona2118 reminded me of my oldest grandson now 27. He was two years old when Chet Atkins died and said to me then, "Grampa we will always have his songs."

What astonishes me about Aretha is that she does all this vocal acrobatics but it doesn't sound rehearsed, it sounds raw, perfect and natural
@champagnemls
@champagnemls Жыл бұрын
Because she is capable of rewriting the music. She is one of those who you give 7 notes and she can come up with 70 different versions. Her voice is only her 3d talent what an ear can hear. However, she sings in other dimensions and she just plays the music. The notes are under her command. She reigns the music. She is the one leading .She does not follow the notes. The notes follow her .

Totally agree with you, Mark, i think too we're all living at the peak of our civilization. Yes, we can do much better but also much worse and through the technology we are now allowed to pass down to posterity entire portion of our lives and the works of these magnificent artists. Your grandson's answer after Atkins' passing was impressive: he was literally saying that some gifted people between us can now reach the immortality, a goal granted only to Gods. This is a serious and deep stuff to realize, it always amazed me how children could change the way you see the world in a blink of an eye with just an innocent sentence. Big hug from Italy, hope you and your family will always keep the music playing.

I love listening to Aretha Franklin singing. The reason I say that is because with each song she sings, she has lived it!! Authentically speaking t That's her life has had a lot of trauma in it so unless you have walked in her shoes Do not judge. She walked in many shoes, she was beatin down. She was divorced four times, she was hit by men and yet still she found beauty in the music that she sang. The depth of her soul is a immeasurable. Thank you, Aretha for showing the world how we all have problems, none of us are any different than the other. What counts is in the end that you stand strong, proud and true. True. . RIP 4:12 Aretha

I first heard this when I was having dinner with my wife in Mexico and we both love this song. It is even more unfortunately significant with her passing today. Irreplaceable, she will be missed; thankfully we have technology so that beautiful voice is preserved.

Well, in all honesty, whether is was only a tear, how often do you see a legend like that cry at all? Whether it was for Amy or just being in the moment, singing something so beautiful with Aretha brought out his true emotions. That's what music is all about. Simply amazing!!!

Aretha,... You know it took me some time and a bit of God conscious to hear that Aretha Franklin was a gospel singer. That most everything she sang was gospel, even the most pop songs (not her disco stuff cause come on...) The gospel run she did at the end on 'never ends' has me about to start testifying. If this were church, the puano would keep playing with her singing Neeeeevvaaaaaaa. Nevvvvahhh... ' as when she sang the hymn' Never Grow Old," from when she was child age. I know Tony was getin the spirit. In another version of this, I see a tear running down his face. That was me too... 🌹🌹🌹🌹
