Videography by Matt Ward at www.visualsofscotland.co.uk
Scotland History Tours is here for people who want to learn about Scottish history and get ideas for Scottish history tours. I try to make videos which tell you tales from Scotland's past and give you information about key dates in Scottish history and historical places to visit in Scotland. Not all videos are tales from Scotland's history, some of them are about men from Scotland's past or women from Scotland's past. Basically the people who made Scotland. From April 2020 onward I've tried to give ideas for historic days out in Scotland. Essentially these are days out in Scotland for adults who are interested in historical places to visit in Scotland.
As a Scottish history tour guide people ask: Help me plan a Scottish holiday, or help me plan a Scottish vacation if your from the US. So I've tried to give a bit of history, but some places of interest in Scotland as well.

My original exposure to the Stone of Scone was via Terry Pratchett's Thud, where dwarf kings are crowned on a loaf of hardtack called the Scone of Stone. I didn't initially realize it was a reference to a real world practice. So it's really striking me funny (if a little confusing to my tired brain) to have Max on to make bannocks for this particular episode. 🤣

You have gained a subscriber with this collaboration. I came for Max and stayed for you, you have a lovely Scottish brogue and calm delivery of interesting history that I knew very little about. I was aware of tanists as an old Celtic form of hailing an heir but didn't realise it was still the case in the 11th century. I look forward to catching up on your back catalogue.

Please do a video about the bravery of Isabella MacDuff, as the Fife offspring, to ride to crown Robert the Bruce. @@ScotlandHistoryTours certainly did ,maybe a collaboration with Professor Harding here on the Wirral, he,s the go to guy on all things Viking or Hiberno Norse , ( ...and Tranmere Rovers..) ...Wirral archeologists are still turning up weapons from the battle site of Brunanburh/Bromborough, Mrs C,s scouse is world class as an added incentive...just a suggestion...???
