Intertrigo is a skin inflammation condition that can occur due to the irritation of skin rubbing against skin.
The skin areas most often affected include your:
-armpits
-breasts
-groin
-buttocks
-flexural surfaces
-skin folds
It starts as redness or small bumps or spots in skin folds that can be itchy, burning, prickly and even painful.
If the area starts to smell bad, you may have an infection from bacteria, fungus, or yeast, therefore, at-home treatments are not enough to treat it and seeing your dermatologist is the best action.
