WIN A GKTWO BUNDLE (SEE BELOW)
Hey guys, after my last video got a lot of feedback regarding it;s length, I wanted to let you all know that this is another video that may not resonate with many of you who have followed for a while. I have about 4 videos aimed at absolute beginners coming out.
The point of this one is for new people to watch before they even consider looking for a resin printer. This is an overview of the whole process, with a few handy tips and is a general guide on how printing works.
The next video will be more about the post-processing stage.
I wanted to go back and do these beginner videos before I move on to more advanced stuff, which is coming soon, including a video on how to dial in your printer perfectly and what all the settings mean (which is a long/boring video) that many people may find benefit from.
Whilst this may not be the video for you. I'd still love it if you could watch it, to help boost it to more people out there, Even if you just click play and leave it on Mute.
I just wanted you to know what this was, before people start complaining it's a waste of time.
WIN A GKTWO BUNDLE
Once again, we have another GKTWO Printer Bundle to give away...
To enter, It's really simple, There are the same simple steps as always to enter - with a twist.
1. Be subscribed
2. Watch the video - to the end
3. Like the Video
4. Comment on the video
5. Share the video ( will check. if you win and then can't show a link to a public source where this was shared, I will rescind the win and do another draw. sorry, This is all about driving Uniformities promotion)
This is part 1 of a 3 part series. So you'll need to do the same next week too! • How to Clean Resin Pri... and the How to Paint Resin Miniatures video (Called Part 3) • How to Paint 3D Prints...
When these videos reaches 100,000 views between, I'll pull one commenters name from a hat, and they'll win a GKTWO, with wash and cure stations.
If you do this on all videos, that's 3 entries
The winner will be announced by me on a livestream and will be contacted by me via my account on here. Your details will be sent to Uniformation who will arrange your Printer, Was and Cure system to be sent to you!
Competition is open to anyone that Uniformation ships to, check eligibility here geni.us/Unfoma...

What i want for ALL future 3d printers is to have a heater by default, it's criminal to not have it in 2024 as it's such an essential part to ensure good printing.

It's not like it's difficult or expensive either; I doubt integrating a vat heater would add more than $10 in manufacturing cost per unit.

if you can't afford an external heater, how did you buy the printer. so no its a lame idea and just an added expense and something else to go wrong

@@Kiddeth That's an hilariously bad take and dumb reasoning, it's better to have an essential feature already builtin instead of having to spend extra time, troubleshooting and money to add it anyways to get an acceptable experience, especially when it doesn't add much cost to begin with.

When I watched to video, I realized that we only need one thing that is the heater. In fact, all the other parts are added for nothing, you dont even need the screen for resin printing. Just heater, heater and heater. Since GKTWO is the only model on the market with a heater, this makes it perfect :)

Knowing more about resin printing would have helped me substantially. I came from FDM printing terrain. I bought my first resin printer without realizing how frustrating and expensive it could be. I literally gave up after my first attempt and returned my printer. About two months ago, I bought a GKTwo and my experience has been significantly better.

I have both a resin printer and an fdm printer. In my experience resin printing has been far easier than fdm printing. FDM has trillion variables to fiddle with try to find the optimum result, clogged nozzles, overextrusion, underextrusion, blobs, bed adhesion and numerous other problems. Resin, so simple and fast too. The print quality is super smooth, not achievable with a fdm printer.

Your videos have been a huge help with helping me decide if I want to get into resin printing. I already have a FDM printer, but it wasn't printing at the quality I wanted for miniatures. I ended up buying the GKTWO set as my first one today based on yours and some of the other reviewers! It's great content and really helps to inform us newbies trying to get into the space so thanks a lot!

I finally found a trustworthy voice of guidance. If I don’t win, I’ll probably save up and buy one anyway. Thanks for your honest reviews.

From the rule book “the special treasure is discovered only once by the first hero who searches the room for treasure, even if other heroes later search that same room”. No mention of having to be adjacent to treasure in any of the rules on searching for treasure. It specifically states “as a hero, you must first verbally declare your search. Do so by saying I am searching for treasure. Searching means you are looking around, opening things, searching for interesting objects and gold coins, regardless of what square you are on in the room. Do not move your hero figure when you search”. Seems pretty clear to me, you were right, he was wrong 😂

To answer your hq question, the first hero to search the room gets the special treasure. When searching for treasure it says in the current rules that its assumed the hero searches the whole room. Sometimes the special rules for a room/treasure even states the first hero. Also of note is that in the original release of the game different regions had different rules and in some regions the rules were more difficult.

I started my adventure with 3D printing at the beginning of COVID and bought a Creality FDM printer. I had ok results but ended up wanting a larger build plate and turned around to get an Ender 3 Max. Had much better results and have printed a number of projects that I still use. I’ve been wanting to get a resin printer to print higher detail models, like a model of the Black Knight from Monty Python’s Holy Grail with spaces to place magnets for the removable arms. Love your video and I now have a new rabbit hole to watch the rest of them!

A couple of the most important points you reference that are often overlooked are temperature, the number of debates I have had with people on this amazes me considering it is written on the bottle usually, and flex in the PTFE sheet being variable. To add to this it can also significantly vary and impact prints depending on location on the build plate, for example lift speed with low flex in the extreme corners may fail compared to success in the middle.

When I started 3D printing, I was for minis. And not to fine a point on it, D&D style minis. I grew up on D&D and 3D printing then painting my own was like Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. Then of course came all the cosplay and everything else. But my first printers were resin, solely for the detail! Resin remains my go to, I say I print 80/20 resin to FDM. The mess and effort, worth it to me, solely for that detail. I live alone, I am home-bound disabled, my apartment is basically my 3D printing & painting studio that I happen to live in. The majority of room is taken with machines, workbench, painting area and so on. While the kitchen & bedroom is where I live. Many may shake their heads at this, go ahead, but this is my zen. This is what brings joy and zen to me. This is what helps me forget, at least for moments, the pain I endure all day.

Best thing to think on with FDM vs Resin. FDM printers can do large models, much much larger models at the cost of not being able to do micro small details. Resin printers can do INCREDIBLE details BUT at the cost of not being to print nearly as large of a model, or as many models at the same time. Also with FDM, once the print is done, its done, no post processing needed, pull off the plate and start another. Resin has a LOT of post processing, washing and curing the model before its actually done. The line between the two types of printers is starting to blur, as FDM printers CAN get super detailed too but do take a lot longer to complete at that detail level. Resin printers are starting to get bigger, with the biggest ones rivaling the build volume of basic entry level FDM printers (Elegoo's Jupiter resin printer). Cost for getting said resin printer size is quite high, where as with FDM printers, you can get super detailed for real cheap. As in a FDM printer with a .2 nozzle can get the same layer heights a resin can do but it takes a real well tuned machine to do it. Resin can do those layer heights, all at once, which is where the speed factor comes in. FDM has to draw the same line over and over and over again to complete a layer, Resin can do the whole layer in a single phase. If all things being equal a Resin printer will complete a model faster then a FDM at the same layer height.

I have been watching resin printing videos for the past year, all the while trying to decide on which printer will be best for my needs/wants. The GK2 is on the top of my list. I live in a very warm and humid climate and my printer will more than likely be set up in my attached garage. Your videos have been very helpful in understanding the basics of resin printing. I still feel like I need an engineering degree but, your videos have been extremely helpful. I no longer feel like I need an engineering degree to understand the basics. On a side note, I don't know who is right or wrong regarding your Hero Quest dilemma. If common sense prevails, one would think you have to stand next to something in order to touch it, meaning you have to be next to it to open the chest. But since I don't know the rules to Hero Quest, I will leave that question to someone other than me. 😂

I loved the video, you covered the basics rather well. I have a Creality 4k, type 6 and I have learning the basics with her for almost a year now. The only recommendation I have to offer is I would have added a bit about the differences between what resin and FDM printers can make. Resin is the best for minis and detail work but FDM is best for terrain, helmets, and things that need durability. They both open avenues of creation but they are vastly different.

I'm currently on my third printer. Started with the Anycubic Mono X, then the Saturn 2 8k, and now the Saturn 3 Ultra. I also started with an Ender 3 , and now (after 3 years of tinkering, modding, rinsing and repeating) I'm running the X1C from Bambu labs. Your most valuable video to me was the comparison between ACF and FEP/NFEP. It convinced me to put an NFEP Saturn 2 vat on my Saturn 3 to preserve the finer details on my minis (especially teeth or fingers/claws)

I love the fact that I've watched that video from midwinter minis about three times and when I started looking into 3D printing I just so happened to find your channel, the one he had brought in for that video, completely by happenstance. Happy accidents.

Fantastic video. I agree the Uniformation printers are amazing. Other MSLA manufacturers should take NOTES! I really appreciate the honesty of all your review vids.

I picked up the Geeetech ALKAID about 6 months ago and have been happily printing little things with that, but seeing all the fine detailed larger models available I've been eyeing up a larger printer, I've watched a lot of review videos from different places on many of the available options and it was your video on the GKtwo and the Printer of the year 2023 that set me on course to get one, now it's just about saving up and making more room in my work sapce!

Nice! Honestly, I like the long meandering style that keeps it interesting to the end. Distractible has its upsides!
