Finger placement should have been a little lower, and the battery degraded so quickly in the 3 years I had it. By the time I sold mine it could barely survive 2 hours of use.

Just got a used one as a secondary phone for a ridiculously low price of 5€ and so far it feels great after installing a Custom ROM into it.

@@epicgames2051 what ROM did you install if you don't mind me asking? Might do that soon given that i have one myself.

@@TWCBYBOIYWFI PixelOS based on Android 14, since I use a lot of Google stuff. The only downside is that Google Wallet/Pay can't be used (applies to any other ROMs as well).

Be on the lookout for eBay deals! That's where I got mine, and they pop up with really good discounts all the time

@@techshowyt It's actually very helpfull on larger phones. you can drag it to the edge of the screen and just click it. I found it more accessible than even the volume buttons

I still have my S10e. Had is since 2019, but It's gotten slow now

I would absolutely recommend this phone, only thing you'd want to keep in mind is battery life. It may need to be recharged somewhat frequently, so you'd probably want to make sure to keep a charger in your car and at your desk like I did. Other than that, this phone is awesome

How many screen on time you get from it? I can't go past 4 hours.

@@samiradzovic894 6-8, it depends on my personal usage. I don’t really do social media, videos or such. Streaming podcasts, checking weather, maps and vital functions.

Definitely the Pixel 5. The S10e is still a really good phone, but I've had so much personal success with Pixels, I'd have to recommend going with one of those. I just haven't spent enough time with any Samsung phone to recommend them. That may change soon though

I wouldnt recommend the S22 it is going to be a downgrade in terms of heating. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is known to be overheating

S23 better than s22 by far

Get her an s23 or switch her to a oneplus 10t

I was disappointed because it was almost as good as their flagship phones at the time. I think they never made another one because the regular S phones are now of a similar size to the E.

Don't change the battery yourself like I did twice with what seemed like a genuine one. Not that it's too hard but it did'nt change anything for me at all as I learned after that samsung does something specific related to some firmware calibration when they replace them. Me I still have the deterioration warning telling me to change the battery, even after a full factory reset. Make it replace by samsung imo.

I agree, I still wait to upgrade for an S series with SD card but not sure they will add it anyday, 128/256gb would feel like a downgrade from S10e...

A14 has a better battery and not much else

s21 is on exyshit (888 is also exyshit in disguise), terrible thermal and battery management. I'd pick up s20fe, it's better choice even on android 13, especially when newer versions doesn't bring that much what I'd consider useful, some minor rearrangements. And u can install custom os on it so there's no need to whine about lack of updates. That's what producers do to forsake you to buy newer (more expensive) phone and you don't get much out of it.

Im using s10e for almost 2 yrs and the battery life is decent, if only for day to day normal tasks such as call, media consumption, as daily driver phone it is excellent. Only weakness is when playing games which drains the battery faster and overheats, but I have a different phone for gaming so its all good.

I'm using one too. Few weeks back, it stopped getting service. I couldn't make calls. Just last week, the network was restored without fixing it. I love this phone. I'm planning moving on to iPhone 13 mini because I don't like the size of most phones out there. 6'1 and above.

He only paid $80 for it pre-owned. Surely you can afford that.

They then wonder how they got hacked and possibly lost MONEY, account control, or worse! I had to ditch my S20FE for this reason plus I wanted the NEW features the S23 & 24 series has to offer which is HUGE for me and even the update to Android 14 is a major plus.

You’re being paranoid for no reason. I refuse to update any of my gadgets. Ever. They always ruin the performance. “Security updates” are a fuking joke.

Yep, writing this from a Samsumg Galaxy S10e, no more updates. Now looking for another budget phone with a headphone jack.

@@furiahispanica3823 ; The Samsung A54 or A35 in the US are pretty good upgrade options for yr S10E that will actually offer more features and will run just as fast if not faster since you mentioned the need for a headphone jack with ALL the latest security updates to boot! I upgraded from the S20FE to the S23FE which I got on Amazon for a great price of $509 last year. Only bummer is the lack of the SD card option. But I use DEX and really need the wireless charging options the "A" series phones do NOT have. It realy comes down to your budget and features that you want. I bought the 256GB option with the S23FE so I really have NO need for that SD card as I'm only using 26% fully loaded with tons of apps and stored music. The A35 goes for around $350US which offers alot of bang-for-buck.
