My mom and sister got on this and I saw a massive difference. My sis used to have major anger problems, anxiety and some OCD. She chilled down amazingly. Like things would just roll if her back…. My mom was always moody, criticizing, had social anxiety and would always be so emotionally sensitive. This helped her become chill and easy peasy lemon squeezy… now with a generally positive upbeat mood. Just so different. After many years of fighting being on a pill, I finally started today. I have tried to get by but as I get older I find myself getting emotionally worse. I have been feeling the worst the last few months and it’s time. I started therapy and my prescription. Hoping to remove the random intense black cloud that comes and makes me miserable. The happiest I have ever been is right after my two kids where born. There was something about nursing and what they say it does with the release of serotonin. It was the best feeling. I had what they called the baby pinks. Hoping this feels similar to that. Wishing everyone here well. Life is hard and being in our depressed and anxious minds doesn’t help..

@@SM-ng4uu What Prozac does is correct an imbalance in your brain, I can't recommend anything because I'm not a doctor, but I've stopped a few times and I went right back to being depressed. Prozac is more of a terminal drug, meaning, as long as you take it, your depression will be corrected. On the flip side, when you stop your depression symptoms will come back. Prozac isn't like an antibiotic, or aspirin. It doesn't "cure" depression by taking a certain number of pills. You have to continuously be taking it for it to work. Ask your prescribing doctor, though, because each person is unique.

I feel the same... how does it really work. ??? Because there are no blood tests that measure serotonin. There are no scans, or magnetic imaging, no MRI's, nothing that definitely proves how these drugs work. So, the pseudo science just thinks how it may function.. there is no proof ! I started developing extreme bouts of anger and would get violent and it was beyond the control of a very fragile man like me to a monsterous level I used to get with hitting and bashing and yelling at people. This anger was beyond my control where I would just wanted blood from my dissidents. It worked on my OCD immensely as well. I'll not keep using it anymore than 2 months though. I've read that it rewires the brain forever. I'll learn hwo to control my anger with exploring nature, taking meditation, gardening, visiting calming areas. Antidepressants have killed many including my mother, this is a short way for me but won't be the only option for me. It all begins with your inner self and the peace one tried to achieve which is possible but we need to try.

Nice explanation. I knew the molecules were sent back, but didn't know they were blocked for re-uptake, so I learned something good here. The new evidence clearly now shows the brain changing within an hour or so and serotonin is increased rapidly but takes a month or so to produce any positive results so that shows there must be something else happening that makes the pills work rather than JUST the increase in serotonin. Once we learn the secret to this we may be able to really really help patience far better.

At 2:00 You said to not stop the medicine suddenly. But if your on the low does for example 10mg once a day, then are you able to stop suddenly after getting permission from your doctor
@CoolStorytellersLounge5 жыл бұрын
You can go even lower, 2.5 mg or 5 mgs. If the side effects are that bad then you may need to titrate to a lower dose and then work your way back up to a larger dosage.

Does anyone get a sour/acids stomach when taking fluoxetine? Please respond y’all! Btw great prescription tho! Changed my life
@romeydarraugh41363 жыл бұрын
Hey! Yes I used to be on fluoxetine when I had depression around 2 years ago, I suggest taking it with food as I was so down I couldn’t eat and lost a lot of weight therefore taking it on an empty stomach. But yes I used to get this and get bad tummy ache. I’ve been prescribed celexa as I am now suffering severe anxiety however I’m thinking about just going back on my fluoxetine

So, if I'm hearing this right....cocaine works in the same way. The only difference is that cocaine increases the amount of dopamine in your brain while also blocking neurons from mopping up the dopamine. In a much shorter time period.

This is a common side effect. Discuss with your doctor this and suggest being prescribed propranolol that helps manage the elevated heart rate and anxiety.
