How does Isotretinoin (Accutane) Clear Up Acne So Well?

In this video, we aim to investigate the most widely used and prescribed drug for acne - Isotretinoin. It is famously known for its long list of side effects, which can be very concerning and intimidating for lots of people struggling with acne, to choose whether they want to go down this route or not. We define what acne is, the three main types of acne, discuss the success rate of Isotretinoin followed by an in-depth walkthrough of the drug’s mechanism and effects on the body using a 6-month course of treatment timeline.Then, side effects are also discussed and organized by severity, as well as a list of common questions one can ask to their dermatologist when about to go on Isotretinoin. We have received valuable feedback from Dr. Mohannad Abu Hilal, a licensed dermatologist working for McMaster Dermatology Center who kindly expert-reviewed our work.This video was made using Clip Champ, with stock videos available to use provided by the editing software.

If you it all over your face it is called as closed comedones use salicylic acid facewash and adaplene(differin,retinoid) you will see results in 3 months

I’ve heard that a dandruff shampoo with sulfur can help with this. Use it as a face wash/mask.

Unfortunately there are some reports of it causing Milia.

Are you sure you have milia? Milia is under the skin and not in a pore. if you can push the white stuff out It’s in a pore so it’s not milia then. Closed comedones get mistaken for milia often. But if it is, Accutane is lightly exfoliating so it might get rid of them overtime but chances are small. and there are better procedures that can get rid of milia fast like by a needle, laser or peels

It also causes many long term psychiatric conditions. Do not take this drug unless you have to.

@@abdielinhov1586 It has a listed side effect of depression and suicidal ideation. People have killed themselves after taking this drug. Others have had lifelong psychiatric problems - depression etc.

Yeah how long? You need atleast 4 months to see results. Also you need to cut down if other things that might be causing it. For me eating sugar and dairy was the culprit.

It took 4 months for me to see results when I was a teenager. After 6 months it was almost all gone. 9 months and my face was clear but dry🙏🏽
