Chapter 5 (part 2/2) of Kaldheim official lore. The final battle for Kaldheim is about to take place. As the plane is shattered by Tibalt's Doomskar, Kaya, Tyvar, and the God's must succeed in stopping the madness or risk annihilation. How does the Kaldheim story end?
I also provide my overall impression of Kaldheim's story. Where do I think it did great, and what criticisms can I offer?

If the exposure/white balance are issues you’re running into, go for lower exposure and correct WB in editing. Love the coverage of MTG lore!

RE: Story Pacing - this is the problem with introducing a plane and only giving it one set instead of a full block.

I’ll be fully honest I haven’t the first clue how to play the game, but yeah if they are putting such a huge limitation on themselves in time the best thing to do would be embrace it and make it clear that the story isnt going to cover everything and there wont be a clean ending

It seem that the MTG stories have been suffering ever since their decision to move from the 2 or 3 set blocks to a single set per location

Yeah, I do _not_ like this one set rotation format. It sucks. I'd much rather do two set blocks with a three set block every now and again. That's where Magic really shines.

100% Agreed. I find it funny how fast WOTC can back pedal on somethings but others like switching to a single block: stay the course= WTF. I still remember how awesome the story was for Mirage, Urza Saga, Weatherlight, Mirrodin, Alara, Lorwyn, Kamigawa, etc.. but as soon as we got to the Gatewatch I was like ''I'm out''. None of the characters are remotely interesting even when Bolas wrecks them, still not interesting because PLOT ARMOUR is strong with them, you know they aren't going to die(kill Jace I dare you WOTC, I DARE YOU!). LOL Just because those programmers on Arena need to make MTG rules simpler doesn't mean the lore has to suffer also, oh wait that is probably the PC workers at WOTC fault :(

This story is a combination of deus ex machinas, also I feel like emotions and plot is said at us rather then rather written or experience naturally. I didn't really connect with kaya due to the writers work.

When they described Vorinclex as his flesh melting off as he went back through the portal I imagined him emerging on the other side looking like a 5 nights at Freddy's animatronic with no skin and just the metal frame lol.

Its not just in the lore. Kaldheim deserved an entire block of 3 sets to flesh out the story and mechanics in the set. Great content. You identify room for improvement with lighting, but do want compliment the Audio and the visuals

I honestly wouldn’t even be mad if they ended up having the phyrexian be the big bad faction like they did with bolas. A terrifying enemy now with the capabilities to go to new planes sounds like something to look forward to.

I feel that Kaldheim is well set up for a return. This was definitely a visit for stories sake, but they could do a set or two exploring the realms and the (possibly) the Phyrexians coming through the world tree, allowing them an outpost to the greater multiverse

I’m almost glad they didn’t include more vorinclex. It seems like the next big conflict is being spoiled only through mild teasers rn, like Karn on Dominaria. And I’m looking forward to seeing that fully animated phyrexia trailer

I am guessing Tibalt hired Kaya to hunt vorenclex. It would explain the currency from Ravnica. He could have done that to get rid of the seed. Nicos part in this story is as good as his card. Now that vorenclex has gone through a portal with the god juice, will that mean he will have a new appearance the next time we see him, since the travel to Kaldheim got rid of his flesh

I'm thinking that lore isn't considered a big sales driver for the game, but at least wotc makes something to flesh out each set. It has to be quite difficult to develop so much content, art, fresh mechanics, and still make a captivating game for fans new and old. Hats off to you for narrating what is available in such good style.

Thematically, Kaldheim is my favorite set so far. I only started playing and getting into magic a year ago and I love all of the lore of this realm.

The new gatewatch could be guild colors. That could be interesting with Kaya Teferi and Ajani to start with Tyvar later. Kaldheim definitely needed more story. I hope we see us return with more exploration of the world. And this sounds weird, but I would not like the bundle. Not needed for Me. Let someone else have it. Thank you for guiding us through Kaldheim, it's been a blast!

I think the story's of magic really need us to stay on planes for more than one set. The stories really lend themselves for a longer stay, and that's usually when it's at it's best.

I honestly think that this story, while not amazing, was better then some of the past ones(*cough* Ikoria *cough*). Sure Kaya only ever travels to the Human, Troll, and then Demon realms, and we only see the Duggar (if that's how you spell it) and elves at the end in the final battle, but now we still have worlds to look forward to exploreing when we return to this plane (if it isn't New Phyrexia 2.0 at that time). And being honest I so far like the Tyvar character and I like how Kaya developed in this story. Yes WOTC has a ways to go before the story is what we want it to be, but I feel like Kaldheim was a step in the right direction. As always thank you for your content and I can't wait till Strixhaven!

I wish they would have done more with this plane. I miss blocks. Gave them so much more time to spend on a plane. These recent sets feel so rushed. I’m really hoping Phyrexia is a good long story arch.
