Most traditional manufacturing processes require custom tooling to create end-use parts. However, conventional tooling usually comes with high upfront costs and very long lead times from service providers, slowing down product development, so getting a product to market takes longer. With in-house rapid tooling such as 3D printed molds, patterns, and dies in the product development process, the business is empowered to validate the design and material choice with functional prototypes before transitioning to mass production and provides an affordable means to produce custom or limited series of end-use parts.
A great choice to produce 3D printing rapid tooling is stereolithography (SLA) 3D printing. Molds, patterns, or dies made with an SLA 3D printer are accurate and have a smooth surface finish. This is an example of a rapid tooling workflow with 3D printing on a Formlabs SLA 3D printer: First, design the tool in CAD. Then, choose the right resin and 3D-print the part on a Formlabs SLA 3D printer. Next, insert the 3D printed rapid tool in your machine and use it in your normal workflow. Finally, post-process the end part as needed.
Rapid tooling can be used to produce plastics, silicone or rubber parts, composites, or metal parts using a wide range of manufacturing processes, such as injection molding, overmolding, compression molding, thermoforming, casting, or sheet metal forming.

Hi! we have a formlabs printer and used 10k to print the molds. The question we have is: can we use the cooling fluid to cool down the molds as we do in steel molds? Or would the rigid 10k absorb the fluid and gets destroid?

Hey there, I'm using 10K for aggressive water/chemical environments. It has extremely low absorption (of water, at least) compared to other materials so you're good to go. Cheers.

Please suggest is there any possible way to use same mold if there is any change in part for which we are making 3D printed mold

I've been 3D resin printing for 4 years on small machines up to 300mm resin printers but the mSLA is inaccurate when it comes to fitting 3D printed parts like FDM/FFF can. Is SLA always accurate or just some brands and types of SLA 3D printers?

For small luxury watch , jewelry , and microchip , smartphone are best 3 dimensional printing..i think chinese and vietnam had made advance phone and watch due to 3d printing but sweeping liquid screen printing head instead of traditional inkjet print head only use for laser etching layout

How can 3d printed resin molds withstand injection molding temperatures for abs plastic for example?

So replace print head to 2 head rotating one is laser for etching layout then sweep thermo head for multimaterials and precision like microchip cpu or smartpone and watch , jewelry , precision lense progressive eye glass camera lense shoe , textile pattern design because expensive precision or delicate materials hard to handle by hand like watch or smart phone you had to leave it to machine or japanese women
