Christina Rasmussen interviewed Tom Campbell for her Dear Life podcast and asked Tom in this excerpt from her interview: “How does reincarnation and the afterlife actually work?”
Although Tom has spoken on this subject many times before, in this excerpt he gives a particularly good summary of the how and why of the afterlife process and speaks directly to those who are concerned with whether they will forever be with their loved ones.
Your avatar is not immortal, except in the sense that the information that describes everything your avatar thought, felt and experienced is recorded and made available to all. You, as a subset of consciousness (an IUOC), are immortal -- there is no end , only endless opportunities to evolve -- to become whatever you can be.
Watch the video, discover the possibilities.

It has nothing to do with effort. Just turn away, look between the thoughts, rather than at the thoughts. When you happen to walk in a crowd, you do not fight every man you meet, you just find your way between. When you fight, you invite a fight. But when you do not resist, you meet no resistance. When you refuse to play the game, you are out of it. Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

It's become increasingly obvious to me that Tom Campbell and Bob Monroe chose two very different paths, and Bob was trying to counter balance what Tom has become--the "guru" figure who tells people what is true and what isn't. Bob focused on giving people the tools to go find out for themselves because he saw how much limitation occurred from belief systems and dogma, and the ever present "authority urge" (see Milgram experiment among others) in humans to be led by another. There is nothing wrong with lightly listening to unusually wise/mature voices and what they have to say, as long as they are turning you back to your own inner guidance and you yourself are most focused on the latter. But when they sit themselves in the center, and allow themselves to become a guru figure, and actively facilitate that role over and over and over again, then it can and often does become limiting--limiting for them and for others. There are reasons why folks like Yeshua left the public scene, or why Monroe's "He/She" is not public and known about. What this world needs most are direct examples of Love, and less so preachers, gurus, lecturers, etc. Anyways, re: the topic of discussion, going by the guidance messages that I've received and the experiences that I've had so far, I lean to thinking that an IUOC exists however long it wants to in most cases. I've found that direct, literal reincarnation of a particular self is actually somewhat rare and not the norm. Most individuals either stay in the nonphysical for what we would perceive as really long periods of time, or they go to other systems whether with a corresponding physical level or not. Course they can directly reincarnate here if they want, but the expanded, original self that they are connected to and came from, let's them and other parts of itself know, "hey, I can create another self with some of you in it to work on these lessons, karma, etc Hence, you don't *have* to necessarily go back in if you don't want to", and that seems to be the common process that happens most often. There is a subset of IUOC's that this does not apply to, and what I've found is similar to what Monroe talked about in the addicted, repeater types. These do cycle in and out constantly and often, in a direct, literal sense. These are very, very immature consciousnesses that seem to have a hard time learning/choosing love, but they are addicted to the physical earth level. They tend to try to get into positions of extreme wealth and material power, and time after time, they tend to cause a lot of problems for the collective. Edgar Cayce's guidance called these the "sons of Belial", and outlined how often they caused societal, and even one geological, upheaval in various different cycles, and multiple times in Atlantis over a 200, 000 period. But don't take my word or Tom Cambells. In the spirit of Bob Monroe, go find out for yourself.

What IUOC stands for? Thanks for sharing your perspective
@justinw1765
@justinw1765 Жыл бұрын
@@Adam2731 It's one of Tom's terms that I only use when speaking to this crowd. It stands for "individual unit of consciousness". A much older, equivalent term for it would be one's "soul". The part of us which incarnates. The IUOC/soul, as Monroe, Moen, and I have found, is created by and from a larger, older self. Monroe called it his "I-There", Bruce Moen called it the "the Disk" (computer terminology), and I tend to call it our Total or Expanded self. There are old terms for it as well, such as "Higher self" or "Monadic self". What neither Monroe nor Moen talked about, to my knowledge though, but what I've found from experience and guidance is that one's Expanded self used to be one with another Expanded self (there was no difference/distinction between them at this point) in an even larger and more original self, but this self split into two (as to why, to somewhat mirror/mimic the physical level and to experience deeper, more intense companionship here). One half become more polarized (initially to the Yin) and one became more polarized to the Yang. This relates to the concepts of "twin flames" and "twin souls". The flames part would be our Expanded self level, and the twin soul part would be our IUOC/soul level. Since a Expanded self can have multiple IUOC's/Souls going on in the same space/time cycle, not only can you meet other selves from your Expanded self in the physical, but you can also meet multiple individuals from your twin flame's Expanded self i.e. you can have multiple "twin soul" connections. I don't know how common this is in practice, just know that it has happened to me and my twin soul, where we have both met other souls from our Expanded self as well as other twin soul connections. The latter has been rather testing in nature, at least for this self.

@@justinw1765 Boy can I relate. Nearing a decade long path with it. It’s the most challenging thing I’ve faced. I don’t like to label it anything, I’m familiar with the storyline. I try to understand it logically and it’s impossible. There have been others that in some ways have mimicked aspects but none equal the whole of this particular connection, and the others are easily and quickly forgotten. Beyond strange. I wonder if we collectively took this on to see what would happen. I do know my heart was opened and I felt it was catalyst to my awakening. I found this explanation on Facebook and I loved it , this explains a lot the message that Tom Campbell wants to deliver regarding his uncle but in a a simpler way: “it’s a very difficult and complex paradoxical issue to communicate and I think you explained it in a much more relatable way than Tom does which I think some people find rather cold. Once one realises the true oneness of consciousness and the illusion of separation it becomes a lot more simple to assimilate and see that the essence of a person, which is very much part of them still is entwined and available to their living family/friends/loved ones even when they in their ‘I am’ awareness has continued on with their development as a soul elsewhere”

We spend a time in spiritual world learning new things, seeing deceased loved ones, reviewing the challenges accomplished in our last life and then after a time we start planning our reincarnatory process ( next life) together with our guides. Challenges that we could not accomplish last material life, and a few new ones, always trying to evolve!

That's because if they come back here to report on it, it was only a NEAR death experience. And as Miracle Max reminds us, "mostly dead" is slightly alive! 🙂 If the Free Will Awareness Unit (FWAU) in a "near death" experience has not completely severed its attachment to its avatar in this Physical Matter Reality (PMR), and it is merely temporarily sampling the Non-Physical Matter Reality (NPMR) "world" of "the afterlife", but then decides to log back on to the avatar here which is still viable (biological death of the avatar has not yet set in), then they would not be able to report on what it would be like to exist in NPMR for any length of time with no avatar to draw them back into the tighter physics rule-set of this PMR. :-)

But that's really as Tom described. I've read Seth books and Seth says life on the "other side" is really boring, and souls want to come back to reincarnate to fast-track their learning. Because physical life is like learning through first-hand experience, and "the other side" is like reading from a book in library. Boring. Sterile. Still. Souls being curious and having no fear, anxiously jump back to experience another physical incarnation to continue their evolution. But the preparation stage takes some time and the process of finding the best circumstances for your development needs coordinated cooperation with other souls. During this period, the soul "gets bored" :) so to speak. Seth said in one of his books that the average time between two reincarnations is a century, and rarely does a soul wait more than that.

Tom is telling only 2-5% of what he is aware of, and on the top of it, he or anyone else is aware of everything about Transition really or LCS only in general. Choices here and after our death are much more vast and do not easy to describe. Tom’s messages are for those who just started to follow him, and those message are really helpful, and one can have a very good start by learning from Tom. Therefore , do not limit yourself to another people explanation . Independence on your path is detrimental, otherwise you would try to emulate another person’s experience. Don dwell on your own current awareness and understanding. Explore here as well as in other realities all the time. you are not getting it right. Even thou Tom is great at explaining things, still is just a model for explaining it. There's no solid answer, since solid states don't evolve. How can you have a solid answer to something that is ever evolving? "immediately" has no real meaning in that context. Besides he is saying there's a TRANSITION reality that is not the physical reality, so time is not the physical time but transition involves X time. Besides you are using other person experience to say something. I urge you to go experience yourself before trying to understand through someone else.

Past, future, other civilizations, etc.. time itself is a perception from the encaranted physical perspective. You could re-encarnate anywhere at any "time". We should ask that to someday to advanced civilizations that don't suffer disconection from the non-physical as we do. I recomend searching for Bashar channelings. very instructive on this subjects.

My concerns, too, rest with idea that the Life Review is being used as a stick to beat the newcomer into acquiescence i.e. docility. The majority of the NDE-ers all reported a spontaneous push into the Life Review, ready or not. The Life Review experience is memorable, full of the most acute shame. According to Dr. Campbell, the shaming helps to induce the unwilling newly "dead" to enter into a new contract and go back into a new avatar el pronto for new experiences and new opportunities for growth missed the last time around. I am uncomfortable with the reward-punishment-docility theme throughout. Since this "docility" is emphasized, what is the difference between mankind's old religions featuring a big, scary, bearded god, and the overseers? If I am an eternal spiritual being, why am I still being prompted so that I remain someone else's (compliant) takeout meal (without my knowledge or consent)? Moo! ;)

Kim Jay , no one and i repeat no-one, is beating the Newcomer into acquiescence or docility, no one can shame you unless you allow yourself to be shamed, no-one is out to shame you ! - how about turning that around ? - each incarnation partition (soul, if you like ) does the very best they can , there is no-one judging you, except yourself - there is NO punishment- docility theme - that's a small view very narrow story running. Religions are a construct, thousands of years old constructs that have served the purpose, of continuing a societal story to meet the needs of the many - totally noble , and necessary for some, one day you will learn what actually happened and perhaps laugh at how seriously we took others Pictures of Reality as our own ? you are not being asked to be someone else's compliant takeout meal - unless except of course if you are being hunted in the Veld by a Lioness?

It is funny however that we created such systems. We are recreating entire worlds in virtual reality. We did this through our consciousness. If consciousness is able to create that, the idea must come from somewhere. It's like we've reinvented the reality we can't see in this dimension in to physical existence.

I've bounced between many different kinds of beliefs. Started as Christian at young age, Atheist, New Age (we are Gods), Muslim, Spiritual, Hinduism, it all just didn't feel right. As a kid i always had this inner knowing of perfect understanding how life truly works, but i couldn't bring it in to words. It felt like the knowing was stuck in my chest area. Later i understood this as reincarnation, but as my ego started to develop i had let it go. Since then i had a very turbulent life with a lot of meaningful moments, always seeking for answers. As a truck driver, i've spend hundreds if not thousands of hours on reading, listening to podcasts, watching videos. It's my luck that nowadays (European) trucks are able to drive autonomous. Anyway, the theory explained in this video, out of all the thousands of videos i've watched, feels most logic and legit to me. Consciousness is evolving, and loving. The pain i inflicted upon others has come back to me and almost killed me. But at the same time blessed me both financially and in wisdom. We should live a constructive life on all terms in order to grow, in stead of destructive. One big question that remains for me... Does consciousness just infinitely wants to experience, learn and grow? Or will it one day decide it has learned enough and move in to another stage? What would that stage be? Just enjoy? Enjoy in a perfect dimension without suffering and negativity? What do we, as a consciousness, ultimately want to achieve other than just experiencing? I always get bored after i've played the same game for a long time, especially when reached certain goals in that game. Usually games then change, they always improve. I guess we will just experience again, but in an improved reality.

I had a NDE, and others have...and there are those that have had OBEs. In those cases the "silver chord" hasn't been severed...and won't be until our physical body reaches the point that it no longer is alive (the ego dies with it). Until the "silver chord" is finally severed, we won't know the full truth of the afterlife, IMO. Until then, whether NDE or OBE (or whatever), we're still subject to our egos, albeit to varying (?) degrees. So, I don't think anyone, while in this physical plane, has a complete picture of the afterlife in interpreting these experiences. NDEs, OBEs all have different (sometimes wildly different) experiences, yet the result in the commonality of the reality of afterlife and the importance of divine love is clearly there.

We had an in house x ray engineer die from factor 5 clotting, he was revived in the hospital where he works, by the docs he answers to for the flouro C arm x ray units, the same ones they used to run the catheters into him to clear the clots. He was dead for 42 minutes on the C arm. He was not supposed to make it, and if he did, he was supposed to have to learn to walk and talk again. He told me he got sent back, for his wife. Before he was sent back, it was as if it was ok for him to go, so he stayed dead, like something changed and he had to go back. Because he said he was in the void w/ billions of orbs who were souls, and he absorbed the collective knowledge of all of them. And they now knew his knowledge. The crazy wild part, was that apart that he recalled his life, (just like Tom says) like he knew of his family, but they we a distant dream. He said he then spent timeless time , exchanging his life experiences from a 1st person perspective w/ the other orbs in the void. He was without pain, and felt fabulous, and could fly around. He said he thought the void "was heaven" and was perfectly content to stay there forever. He said he knew what the other orbs knew, all as a hive mind, so after awhile (he said what felt like 40 years if he could quantify it) they started thinking through the entire void, he's got to go back. He thought back tot hem, no way, I'm staying. But they didn't have a say, they were just thinking it amongst themselves. Then the Trinity came to him, without form, and said he had to go back for his wife. He had a detailed conversation with Jesus about man, then w/ God about the religions of the humans, then he was sent back. They told him when he was going to die, and now he can't remember it. He was an atheist. Now he is a super Jesus follower. He said to me, you think this is reality , don't you? He continued, let me tell you something, and he points to the ceiling, "the other side is reality, this is the dream". While almost all of what he told me made sense. There are things that reinforced my view that earth is not a good place. I wonder if he was duped so to speak, although he said he had no choice in the matter of coming back. While with the orbs, he remembers some things about our existence. They seem positive, but for example, one of them was . "the more you suffer on earth, the greater your joy on the other side". Another was, we are meant for the earth, and the earth is meant for us, it always was, and always will be. These sound creepy to me. Furthermore, he told me that he was told that if he were to come with them, he would see them, and the other side as it REALLY was, and that the void was a temporary holding area. You could go to earth from the void, but if you left the void for the other side, you could never go back to earth. Another engineer who was there that night came forward like 5 years after it happened, and he said that my friend was very very dead. There were a couple jokes that I cannot repeat. Service engineers are a tight group, and they were in watching the surgery. But het got real serious when I told him what the dead friend told me. This other engineer was now working in another hospital in another state, and had left within a month from my friends revival, so he knew nothing of what the story was. He said that night, he was asked to stand with the guy's wife out in the waiting area, because there was no chance he was going to make it. He said when he got there, she was rolling on the ground, literally rolling on the ground asking for God to bring her husband back, like praying hysterically. I had to laugh because my friend said he got sent back for his wife, like everything changed real fast, like it was almost of paramount importance that he go back, when he was hanging in the void like nothing mattered, and he was told it was about her, not him. It was as if a higher power said, hold up, this wife is in trouble. She really needs him. I told my dead friend that part of what our mutual friend said, and he just laughed, and said I didn't see a tunnel or any deceased family members. I saw my life flash before my eyes real fast, just the good stuff, or the things that made me happy. Then I saw a bright light, then I was in the void, alone for awhile, then the orbs appeared. He was never scared alone in the void, he said he felt "protected". He is totally different person now, he is no longer a Republican for starters. He was a HUGE republican. He doesn't care about anything, now money, his looks, his house. I joked he was retired and rich, w/ no cares anymore. He scoffed at me, he said can you shove your house and your car, and your money, up your butt, and take them to the the other side w/ you? I had to laugh. Did they teach you that over there? No, I thought that one up myself. We laughed.

“the system” … the more Tom explains it, the more it sounds like the universe and true reality acts innately on its own set of laws and constructs.. In my opinion, free-will, like all of reality, is simulated..we just have range of complex choices, experiences and sensations. He says “the system” is not unlimited or eternal, but in my opinion, the universe is paradoxical and completely eternal but also holds the concept of “limits”. I believe that Past & Future all exist in the current Now, because time is an illusion within our eternal oneness-consciousness. Yes, oneness-consciousness (the all) is leaning and growing, but it’s contained and infinite all at the same time. How do we know Tom’s obe acid trips weren’t just another simulated experience given to him by “the system” to help him “cope” through his reality? (That’s basically the answer he gives to everything else) I completely respect his views and know he’s put a lot of time and effort into his research and collaborations with others who have also dedicated energies to his work. Tom Campbell is correct about many things, but he's not correct about some other things. He has done a lot of personal work with his OBE research, but, as you pointed out, all of those experiences are the experiences of one mind--- Tom Campbell's mind. His experiences are not necessarily the complete and universal Truth with a capital T. They are filtered through his own consciousness and are the truths he is able to process at this point in his development. This is true for everyone, of course--- which is why I find it helpful to learn about many people's experiences in these areas. (One of the things he is not correct about, for example, is that the universe or unversal consciousness is not infinite. It is. Another example: He says that sometimes people will reincarnate with the same person if they can help each other grow but "it doesn't happen that often". This is not correct. It not only happens regularly, it is actually a feature of the system. We reincarnate with the same group of souls--- our immediate soul group-- over many lifetimes--- until we have progressed as far as we can with that group. Only then do we start expanding the experiences with other souls in nearby groups.).

Whether things work this way or not, I like how Tom states it all confidentially without hesitation! After an eternity of re-births and learning, does your unique personality ever cease to exist, and simply merge to the bigger consciousness? The idea that you will exist in some form or another, without no end, seems pretty bad. And how do ghosts (including that of pets) fit into this picture.. many spooky cases of places that have strange paranormal activity, people getting contact from loved ones that have died but the person didn't know it yet, and just general strangeness involving time slips. Does free will exist, if so who/where is the one doing the deciding? If not, why is it that those that suffer near-death-experiences, often report given the CHOICE to return or not! Also, what about the UFO phenomena.. for example the theory that humans were created by alien race(s), and that they've been tinkering with human dna, to raise our consciousness. Those with raised consciousness appear to be more clairvoyant, and better able to see/communicate with the higher dimension(s). Spirits are able to inhabit some human bodies, at least temporarily. BTW, Michael Levin (Tufts Univ) has some strange experiments where he zaps worms during development and is able to create a second head, with seemingly its own consciousness! How does that work?? Would like to hear a discussion between Thomas and Dr. Jeffrey Long!

I'd rather be dead dead in that case and there is nothing, since my existence is me here on earth, I am me, fully. Not sure how much you can learn if you get your memory wiped between each life. I have always found Tom Campbell to be very 'hard faced'. Almost to the point of arrogance. To dismiss meaningful experience, love, as mere something to be discarded upon 'death' like an old coat seems psychopathic. I agree with his premise on consciousness, but his rhetoric on it, leaves me cold and quite sad.

Q: What about a breather between lives? What about Summerland? I get the impression from what you are saying that we just keep getting slammed from one life right back into another life ad infinitum after an orientation period. I've seen information passed from individuals through mediums that say the next life is an option, not an assignment and if you never want to do another you don't have to. A little help here, please?

wouldn;t you always want to keep learning , keep enjoying the possibilities of all the infinite choices - it is very seductive, i think only the enlightened ones choose whether or not to come back - or in what form >? we are not forced, not 'slammed'

@@aquavox1 I'm well aware of the process and the choice options but I wanted to counteract Tom's precis of the process. The way he presented it made it seem sort of peremptory and I wanted somebody else besides me to make a point or two about the process. I've been following Tom since he published and I bought the three book set when it first came out. Can't remember how many years ago that was now. We learn just by existing. We can't not. Awkwardly put, but true. Don't know that we need to be enlightened so much as informed and it turns out we can work that out with the help of the massively experienced beings ahead of us on the path, everything from ideal potential life path for each trip down to ideal body design. If I may ask, where did you gather the info about not being forced? And thanks for posting the reply. It definitely helped. Love and Light to you.
@aquavox1
@aquavox1 3 жыл бұрын
@@deltavee2 Not being forced , is just a knowing, as you deeply know yourself, nothing can 'force' us , it doesn't work like that. Think of enlightenment as multi- dimensional awareness - if you can hold the paradox of all sentient beings' Awareness and points of view in the balance of both your hands equally, without judgment - but just acceptance and love - that's my definition of 'enlightenment', you cannot experience it vicariously through anyone who may be a little further ahead or beside you on the path. Living multiple lives ( and dreams ) at once means you get to open up to living all the potential life possibilities , all the ideal body designs , ! and who said that we ( humans ) are the most conscious or sentient beings on the planet? there are some very smart other life forms around. it is actually all about choice, awareness and discovery.

@@kmitchell3892 One of my friends at work told me of looking at Earth from a distance and distinctly remembered saying "I want to go there." A lot of people use the contract analogy in this context although it is not such a thing as we think of it here. If you want to change the experience or the parameters or bail out completely and let another take your place, there is no problem, no penalty, none of the harshness that is so typical of this little VR. You simply move off in the direction you wish. Normally the reason for the change is just something that has come to be that is better for your development or a chance to be of better service in a different lieu.

In late 2017 (I think, it's at least possible it was early 2018) I died, and experienced the beginning of the transition reality. At first I traveled through the tunnel of light that has been spoken of so often, and found myself on a beach. Very similar to the scene from the movie Contact, when Jody Foster's character went into the machine, except the sky was daylight. I was communicating with... something? Someone? Myself? I have no idea. I was still ME, but I was not Kevin anymore, although that doesn't even make sense to me when I say it. Whatever/whoever I was communicating with was answering my game of 2,000 questions, and I know there is much more I don't remember, I DO remember talking extensively about reincarnation, and even being shown parts of something that was a former lifetime of my own, where I was a Chief of some tribe somewhere that we today would consider highly primitive. I was told in no uncertain terms that reincarnation is very real, and very repetitive (I get the feeling that we're eventually talking hundreds of thousands if not millions of times), and that we won't necessarily be human, or on this rock, or even in this Universe. I know I was told much more, but I have no memories of most of it, yet anyway. I have 'flown off the handle' from time-to-time, but I wouldn't say it was a huge problem for me, so perhaps it's something else. I know I'm not perfect yet, and I'm not even sure that's possible. I know next time I don't want to be human, or if I must be, I want an easy life where I'm born into fabulous wealth and can live a playboy and/or playgirl jetset lifestyle. Though I imagine I will insist on flying the plane, at least occasionally, at least if the new me is even remotely like this me. I'm tired of the abject stupidity of homo sapiens. I would really enjoy a lifetime in a space fairing species, like something similar to the Star Trek universe, only with maybe less shooting. It makes for fun TV and movies, but I'm not sure I'd want to get shot at and almost die like every single day of my life.

Yes, the afterlife has many stages and we have angels, loved ones, paradise states but those are part of the transition. In spiritism we study that we continue being the same individuals with free will. The problem is that the phisical body is too dense and the responsible to forget what the spirit did in the spirit world. We get to the spirit world every night when we sleep to see loved ones, to work and to learn. When you wake up, you will remind what is to be reminded (really usefull for your growth).

these emotional peaks (negative or positive) are recorded and stored. A more evolved consciousness may be aware of his own weaknesses and strengths and a less evolved (self centered) one may not be aware of it, so the system will make you go through and feel these peak emotional moments. An example would go like this: System: "see how you said you will be more honest before you engaged in your last simulation and see how you reacted in these situations" then you see / feel those times when you could make the right choices to be honest but didn't. This would show that your inner self still did not grasp this quality, in this case. Let's say that you wanted to experience a physical life system where the beings there have no bad intentions, no ego, no greed, a pleasant place to be and learn other ways of evolving surrounded by great love. Well, if your consciousness level is filled with ego, you would not fit in that place. You will have to qualify first, to get there. The other beings there won't accept you. It's like putting a hungry ferocious lion in a kindergarten. A less evolved form of consciousness would disrupt the on going of activities and learning processes in that more evolved system. I'm not saying your consciousness is primitive but get my point.

@@alneri1249 this just seems like a bunch of nonsensical assumption about the nature of how people are treated. there is no relation to how things actually work, if you are a low quality "being" which is already dumb, there is no standard as to what to call quality you can call anything quality depending on what you want quality means nothing by itself. but ignoring that there is nothing that says you can ressurect in a body that is predisopsed to be more loving and that can live in any society. how do aliesn work? clearly animals and your body determines your behaviour for the most part, excluding whatever spritiual residue you have. so it means nothing. also why have this emotions to begin with if all they do is get in the way of growth?
