By the way, Europeans believed in reincarnation before Christianity came. The old Norse/Germanic and Celtic religions come from the same Indo-European root as the Vedic/Dharmic religions of India. So historically the word "Western" is as useless as the word "Hindu".

Sikhism and Hinduism have a lot in common. I know that's a touchy subject because in the west Hinduism is believed to be this horrible religion that promotes caste system. I personally do not believe the way caste system was during the British period, it had been like that for ever (if it was then that is horrible). But leaving that aside, the present day animosity that has developed between Sikhs and Hindus is really sad. Most of the western criticism that applies to Hindus also applies to all Dharmic religions. When you support hate towards Hinduism, 70% of that hate comes back against all dharmic religions. Like reincarnation, burning of dead bodies, karma all of this common across all dharmic religions and all of this is ridiculed when they criticize Hinduism. I personally believe atheism is the best collective future for all mankind. But until we get there, we need to support dignity for all forms of religions including Dharmic religions. The transition out of religion should be by enlightening people on the benefits of atheism and not by demonizing Hinduism or Islam.
