Different video this week :-) I go into how the MultiFuel stove is working and what kind of fuels does it burn. I do also talk about the pros and cons. Please comment down below how your experience with the multifuel burner are so others can learn from it!
PS: One other drawback I forgot to tell in the video is that it is noisy!

Riktigt bra video! One thing I wanna mention is never, ever use a stove inside an enclosed (or even open) tent, as it can easily accumulate deadly CO gas which is odorless and unnoticeable until its too late. Many people have died while camping due to carbon monoxide poisoning from using stoves in enclosed areas.

@@kj-outdoors I just got a new, complete and pristine Brunton Vapor AF multi fuel stove that I’ve wanted since 2008(made by Snow Peak in Japan 😁). I want to take take good care of it as I’m planning on taking my kids for allot of adventures with this stove and you can’t buy anymore. All the common wear parts like o rings I’ll be able to Acquire. I was a Boyscout and have always been an avid outdoorsman. I’ve had allot of isobutane and propane stoves but this is my first liquid Stove. I want to learn how to keep it running like a Swiss watch. I subscribed as apparently you have a personality. Godspeed 🙏🇺🇸

Interesting video! I usually use gasoline like you, but also have great experience with kerosene. If you preheat long enough with a clean fuel like gasoline or fuel paste clogging/dirt will not be a problem. However, there are huge differences among the burners. The Primus demonstrated here is superior with gasoline and a true multi fuel with propane option. But I believe that MSR Xgk is the best option with kerosene and even diesel. Hard choice, and as you say, they can last a lifetime! Great and informing video, take care!

A lot of very similar stoves out there. I have a LOT of stoves. It's an addiction... haha! My true multi-fuel stove is an Optimus Nova. I decided on it because its all metal pump. But I think if you treat them like the valuable pieces of gear they really are, any of the major brands like MSR, Primus, or Optimus will be reliable and last a long time. I have old coleman stove from the 1930s and others that are even older that still run like new. I don't expect that with these because of the rubber parts that will degrade over time. But they are remarkably well engineered machines. I have a few Coleman Apex stoves that I really like that will burn gasoline or kerosene/paraffiin. But they are no longer made and spare parts are getting harder to find.

Thanks for sharing! There are several brands and models out there. It is important to define your individual needs in order to choose the one that best cover these!

I use my msr international for camping in countries like Africa and Asia where you can’t get gas cylinders. Even alcohol can be a problem in some countries. I’m looking for one that can burn diesel too; it’s much easier to get the stove fuel when you fill the car. Id love to know how the Primus Ti works with diesel.

Also, there are three different valves (sextant that sits in the bottom of the burner) for tge different fuels. Don't know how important it is to have the right one, but read the instructions well and try before you set out on your journey. The small metal tool can be used for changing the valves.

Hello Kjetil. Thanks 🙏 for the demonstration of this stove, it was very much appreciated !! I have had a look 👀 at various models (some cheaper, some more expensive) I am at an advantage as I do have past experience (good) working with the Swedes earlier in my career - and understand their mindset with regard their own manufacturing set up with regard various types of equipment, (marine) !! I know if the product is manufactured by your fellow countrymen then it’s “top notch” and is made and built to last a life time - and if it carries a premium then it’s worth it long term !! I would definitely go down the “MIS” road should I go ahead and purchase one. There are a few possible variations with regard the size of the reservoir of fuel you need to take with you - as long as the neck and the pump length both fit. Also, I think I would try and perhaps 🤔 consider a small wooden box to store it in, rather than the canvas sack. That way the; stove, bottle, pump and fuel is all secure and in one place. I think it would be brilliant for a week remote wild 🏕 camping and the likes !! Don’t think I would be brave enough to light it in my tent ⛺️ 🔥🧯🚒 though !! 😳😱🤯🫥 Thanks 🙏 Take care and stay safe… 😷 James 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✌🏾

Thanks, James for your detailed insights! I agree that having a box to store it in would be beneficial. Also during winter it is a good advice to fasten the burner and fuel bottle to a solid plate for better stability when in use. And for the tent issue; I agree that for the pre-heating part you need to be very careful and best to perform that part outside of the tent. When the burner has the correct flame, it is just a pleasure to have it inside the tent, especially when it is very cold😀

You for the video! How well does the stove allow to regulate the heat level?
@kj-outdoors
@kj-outdoors 6 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment and question! My particular stove is not so easy to fine tune the heat unfortunately. I do only have one adjustion knob close to the fuel container. There are stoves out there with another anjustion on the stove it self, and I do think that will allow for more fine tuning, but I have not any experience with that myself.

Primus is not recommending alcohol since it will dry out the o-rings etc. But it will work.

Less chances to topple the stove over. For example MSR whisperlite has steel cord inside the hose for cleaning purposes and the hose is very stiff.
