Great job! Future reference when mudding add brick around the pipe so you don’t have to use that much mud little trick I learned when I was laying pipe with my excavating job

Try pouring what we call (in the commercial industry) an ‘invert’ in the catch basin. In a catch basin as small as these there is no need to call a truck you can just use bags of concrete. Working it with a trowel flush to the bottom of the pipe encouraging water to flow more easily into the pipe and preventing water sitting below the pipe

I was wondering about that and it makes sense. Thanks for the info… Sam

Always gota account for a few things when it comes to utilities. 1.) thickness of ur stone whatever it may be . I usually ALWAYS use 6” (.5) tenths. 2.) thickness of the box from outside bottom of structure to ur invert . It’s usually 6” (.5) tenths. 3.) thickness of ur pipe. I mostly just say (.2) tenths. So anytime I do storm and start running my numbers I ALWAYS add 1.2ft. .5 for rock, .5 for box thickness and .2 for pipe thickness. Hope this helps u some bud.

It's not how many times you get knocked down, it's how many times you get back up! Way to persevere and for what it's worth, I think donating some of your time to make the drain issue right is the way to go. Stinks for your bank account but good for the soul. Any chance of doing a follwup video on some of these projects? I for one would love to see this drain in action during TN monsoon, also love to see the fire pit pond filled up. Etc etc.

I have thought about doing a video like that. Maybe I can ask folks in a video what projects they would like to see. That would be a good rainy day video to do when not able to work. Great idea... Sam

That was a challenging job to say the least.Two questions, did you have to eat some of the cost and why was concrete not put around the catch basins instead of rock ? Great work.
@tristardiggin
@tristardiggin Жыл бұрын
Thanks Mike, Challenges there were 😁!!! ADAPT AND OVERCOME! 😳🙄 I did donate some time to offset my oversight on the storm water plan. Even though the storm water issue was there all along I just underestimated the magnitude of it. Based on the experience I now have, I know to have a storm water plan in place with cost estimates along with estimates for the actual work. The rock is just filler (backfill) there will be a concrete side walk covering the ditch and concrete formed around the catch basins to carry water to the grates. Thanks, Sam

Was the top pipe perforated to take in the water from the rock? Or the only inlet is the catch basins? Did it end up getting better funnels to the catch basins? Or the water just makes it down to the rock and bypasses the corrugated? Love this project. So many questions. 🤣👍

@@tristardiggin I have 8's and 9's. If you go into timelapse and use timewarp setting, you can throttle speed up and down so you don't have to speed up your normal video during editing. I use that in some of mine instead of timelapse or fast forward. It makes a clearer fast-pace vid without the awkward sound. Just a tip from a nobody lol.
