Where on your kayak do you mount your anchor? I have the kuda and I’m looking into getting an anchor set up

@@JordanSatterly I used a Scotty universal patch, PVC adhesive and mounted the Scotty anchor system on the right front pontoon about a foot back from the front of the kayak. I also purchased a diving reel and used niteize silicone twisty ties to secure the diving reel to the daisy chains to the right of the kayak seat. The diving reel works very well for anchor rope management and has a good locking mechanism. I like having the anchor at the front of the boat because when I drop, it automatically points me up river so I can fish with the current. For anchor rope I used the bright yellow polypropylene you can by anywhere, Walmart, Lowe's etc. about 30' and 1/4" diameter. It's high visibility and waterproof.

​@@JordanSatterlyThe easiest solution would be tying your anchor line off the side of the seat with a slip knot (or other type quick release knot), but I don't think that's the answer he's looking for. The most straightforward way would be to use something like the scotty anchor lock attached to one of the existing mounting pads. If they wanted a more custom location they could glue on a pad in the location of their choice, as a lot of anglers prefer the anchor coming off the bow or stern which will allow the boat to handle waves and wake better. A 1.5 lb anchor to 3lb anchor should be more than adequate or the NRS Urchin if they wanted something more portable. In store I could get super nuanced about making a custom anchor trolley with some rope and biners attached to the gear loops for and aft, if they wanted. But there's a chance it would interfere with the functionality of whatever accessories you had mounted in the two side pads, if any. It may also get wet and cause drag which would annoy the crap out of me

@@209chevymon fish hooks are very unlikely to puncture the material good quality inflatables are made of.

It depends on the model a bit but any PVC boat is easy to dry. Just deflate it and put outside our of direct sunlight.. packing is pretty straight forwards. Some of the bags (depending on brand) can be a bit tight but for the most part you deflate them, roll them and put them in the carry bag.

Hard shells get holes too. Actually, the Pike is superior because the three chambers are more redundant than the monohull of a thin plastic boat.

I would have assumed this was trolling if you hadn't have clarified. Haha. I am no Gator expert but my guess would be no. Gators have sharp teeth and inflatables don't deal great with stabbing sharp things..

I am not super familiar with Note, however, most PVC inflatable kayaks with drop stitched high pressure floors are super durable.

Thanks for the comment and checking out the video. His answer is definitely a bit nuanced! I can confirm that the manufacturing process of the NRS PVC kayaks and rafts is the same, the glues, coating etc is the same, you are correct in the material thickness being different. I am not super dialed in with the tech specs but the pike (in the video) has a material thickness of 44/1000 and the Slipstream raft is 52/2000. I don't quite know what that means technically but annecdotally the Slipstream is a heavier feeling material than the pike... with all that being said, the NRS inflatable kayaks only have one paddler in them vs a raft which is designed for a heavy frame and multiple passengers so that effects the requirement for material thickness. From our experience both the NRS rafts and kayaks are really well built and durable Thanks again for your question and for checking out the video.

@@AQOutdoors i own a Kuda and it’s a good boat but I do wish it was made with the same denier as their rafts. I know it would add weight but I think the durability benefits would be worth it/ not that the Kuda is fragile or not durable I just think for a boat I use on rocky rivers the extra thickness would help against abrasion and fish fins.
