Soviet / Russian tanks, of course, are not the best tanks in the world, but they are unpretentious and easy to manufacture. Look at photos of Soviet T-72s from the Middle East - they are all old, battered, and they also have several tons of additional armor installed on them, BUT they are still combat-ready. This approach has been going on since the time of the T-34, which was not the best tank of its time, but was more than adequate for the task.

I am a sucker for how they kept the basic look of the rounded turret.

T90A is massively outdated. It's roughly equivalent to a Russian T72B3 in performance. T90M features a completely different turret design and additional protection to the ammo carousel, as well as much better ERA. It's a good piece of equipment, it's only fatal flaw is it's atrocious reverse speed that still hasn't been fixed

A lot of Russian kit is actually quite good. Typically I side with Western tech having the edge but if Russia ever gets its crippling corruption under control and start fielding properly maintained equipment, training and tactics they would be a major threat. Getting that wide spread corruption will be very difficult giving the current situation in Russia.

The lasted T-90M is fine for what it is. Most kills were done by drones and missiles. The biggest problem with T-90M is it’s low production rate, and Russia’s reliance on imported parts.

Every Tank is effective, its just that if the Army can use it correctly. Perfect example was Chechnya. With out support of the Infantry, Tanks are not effective.

Well, To be honest it is a decent tank, the problem is the untrained Russian Crew who has no idea how to operate tanks in general.... Even if Abrams are delivered to Ukraine, and the Ukrainians have little training, then it's a futile effort and won't make much difference.... Truth is tanks in general are getting hard to protect from enemy ATGMs and only if they are properly supported by other Air and Ground assets can tanks to used to their full potential... And Ukraine doesn't have that much Air assets to help them achieve air dominance, but they do have enough firepower to provide air space denial, and prevent Russian tanks from getting this Crucial air cover. That is the Reason why Russian tanks have be failing in Ukraine.. Ukraine knows this and this is the reason that they are pushing for F 16s.... In short, Not due to Bad equipment, but bad planning......

russian military export of tanks will be questionable for many years, if not decades. Its not that it would have high production time (due to sanctions), but also the political costs as well. russian exports have probably peaked, and are on vast decline. The war tends to bring out the truth, even if countries like russia constantly lies.

The question is really, how good is the T90 when new and well serviced in the hands of a good crew. It isn't impressing anyone in Ukraine much.

Not taking sides but I think in the hands of a well trained crew this vehicle can do some serious damage. I think what we are seeing in Ukraine with this vehicle is the unimaginative and inflexible use of outdated doctrine by Russian forces. Command Initiative is not exactly encouraged in the Russian Army.

I watch this I find myself thinking the Russian government or military MUST have funded this video. There can be no other explanation.
