Many of my favorite people are INTJs - I'm energized by their intensity, rather than put off by it, and I love that I can surprise them with a new idea, and then in turn have my mind completely blown by their immediate, expansive, slightly-twisted-off-course take on my flashes of insight making them better and more fun or complete. 🤩 - ENTP

I'm an INFJ, and I really like ENTPs. They have a familiar expansive way of thinking, they are never weirded out if I make strange connections between ideas across space and time, they are making their own weird connections. I also like that ENTPs aren't freaked out by the dark side of INFJ thinking. I also like them because even though they tend to come across as maybe sort of mildly anti-social in a troll way, it's easy for me to see that they are in their own way actually very pro-social. Basically I find them smart, funny, interesting and nice, even though I know (and understand why) some other types would scoff at the idea of them being "nice". They're among my favorite people to hang out with.

INFJ too, I have an uncle who I strongly suspect is ENTP. He's really fun, has a great sense of humor, and has broadly been accepted by family as 'addicted to arguing/trolling, but never means any harm'. We all know he's just like that. Even if he stresses someone out, the non-personal nature of it makes it a lot easier to approach afterward and let him know the stress isn't a personal knock on him either. Debating with him is safe in a way. Love the guy to bits and have had some really good conversations with him. Some of his ideas are a bit weird and I don't agree with everything, but I do know he's thought about them a lot and respect that.
@Niveous23
@Niveous23 Жыл бұрын
It is a weird bond. I don't like the judgement and narrowing of ideas that INFJs bring to the table. But I respect it. I like that they know what they want and who they are. I like that they are pro-self growth. I think the parts of them I hate the most are how they handle, or don't handle, conflict. I learn through conflict. I grow through conflict. As an ENTP, that's what I'm about. I don't expect an INFJ to like it, but I do expect them to acknowledge it. But they don't. And they wont. And that will always be a bone of contention between the two types. It would take a very mature ENTP and INFJ to mitigate that looming disaster. Conversely, the ENTP needs to acknowledge how often and long an INFJ needs to hibernate.

As an ENTP I love INFJ’s because their intelligence is a mystery that I don’t quite understand, but I want to. INFJ is ground me to my emotions and remind me to be sensitive. ENTPINFJ is the best combination that exists

The problem I have is that ENTPs like my INFJ dark side more than I do actually. So I like the fact that I can express it with them but I don't like that they encourage me to do so. They love the most what I hate the most about myself so this is a bit disturbing. But I guess they could say the same about me, that I like the most their emotional side they most likely like the least. That's a very interesting problematic to think about I believe.

I’m an ENTP and my father is an ESTJ. My father found that the best way to raise me was to give me a rule, and then give me every logical reason for why that rule was put in place. He never answered any of my questions with “because I said so”. If there was no good reason for something, I wouldn’t listen. Since he raised me in this way, I was able to see the reasoning behind his rules, and I found the value in them as well. My father and I get along really well, but I still won’t do anything unless there’s a good reason behind it.

I'll tell you this....if he spends time just being charming AF around his INFP teen....they will hero worship the man. Which is crack to an ENTP. My wife loves to tell me stories about her ENTP dad. Which is crack for an INFP.

The one thing that is really tough about the INFP is when they get it in their head that they don't want to do something, or think about something. They can become very stubborn. To an ENTP that can be very frustrating as we need to experiment, find the weaknesses and strengths in a plan or idea. Being told NO without explanation can be maddening. The other thing is we love solving the riddle of who someone is and INFP's tend to hate giving away their true selves. This leads to an almost battle of wills to see who will crack first. Will the INFP keep drip feeding us the information we crave or will we get bored of trying.

INFJ here, ENTPs are downright one of my most favorite types. Especially if the both of us are mature, empathetic and respectful in our relationship/friendship. But also in terms of historical individuals (philosophers, writers, musicians, filmmakers, actors, comedians, writers, etc) and entertainment characters in various types of fiction (tv, movies, cartoons/animation, KZfaqrs, video games, etc.) While they may not “get” they insane, ineffable nature of Ni-doms/Heroes (like other INJs for example), they are insanely adept at pattern/concept recognition and able to deconstruct them in ways INFJs find absolutely fascinating with their Ne/Ti. We both can keep up with each other intellectually, INFJs through depth of topics/subjects/knowledge, and ENTPs through sheer breadth of said topics/subjects knowledge, always learning from one another all the time about virtually anything and everything. While people say INJs are known for coming up with “out of this world” ways of thinking / viewing various matters as Ni-Doms, I don’t think ENTPs (and especially ENFPs) ever get the same amount of credit/recognition with their very high use of Ne. It’s unbelievable. Just look at ENTP polymaths such as Da Vinci and John Von Neumann, or the work from writers such as Palahniuk, David Foster Wallace, Bertrand Russell and Foucault, even to famous scientists such as renowned quantum physicist Richard Feynman to even famous KZfaqrs such as Adam Neely and Anthony “Melon” Fantano. There’s definitely a playful aura of one-upsmanship between the two types, but never taken seriously intentionally. Imagine if Dumbledore [INFJ] from HP and Rick Sanchez [ENTP] from R&M were genuinely best friends with one another. That’s kind of like relationship dynamic I get with ENTPs. I like ‘em a lot. And legitimately am able to understand them for the people they are. They are natural agents of chaos and deviously whimsical iconoclasts, it’s just their nature. But it’s this nature that’s given humanity some of the most revolutionary, innovative concepts and ideas that have shaped everything in life as we’ve come to know it-from science, philosophy, technology, literature, film, art, you name it-we’ve ever seen, there’s no denying that, and we have ENTPs to thank for it too. Thanks guys. - Fellow INFJ | 2:20 |

Entp here. My experience with ESTJ and ENTJ are very close to what you described. I admire ESTJ for their results, but on the other hand... wtf is wrong with them to be soooo focused on career and usually very serious about stuff in general. I envy ENTJ because they are like ENTP but more ESTJish - they keep their direction and set goals. This is like a difference of choice. Both ENTP and ENTJ are aware of the absurdity of life, but ENTP conculdes that it's more about people and fun and experiences and creativity; when ENTJ stays in the life game of power, status and achievements. This is btw quite interesting dissonance from the ENTP's perspective.

As ENTP, i can't handle too long with ESFP. They are fun, but they concentrate too much on details and love to retell what happened to them in SUCH a detailed way, so it happens too boring. ENFP can be a good friend, but sometimes i can't handle with their emotional instability. They can be open-minded, but 5 minutes later they are closed and dramatic. This is so overwhelming and annoying. I adore ISTP for their practicality and coolness. They can't stand a deep philosophical discussion, but they are interested sometimes to hear new ideas to REALISE them. This is very rewarding experience. Interesting, my dad is ESFJ. And he calling me "an absolute egoist who does everything for his own benefit"... Which is basically true :D But i can say the same in a positive manner. I had a relationship with INFP girlfriend, and I realized that it's great to relax with them ... but making plans is quite difficult. they are sometimes even lazier and procrastinate more than ENTPs. I can see this polar great/horrible in us, as we always had been like best friends but very different, though when things were bad between us, they were way too bad. There is no middle. Thankfully most of the times is a perfect balance. The best part is that as we mature, we have found the way to hold conversations with understanding. And MBTI knowledge helped a lot in understanding each other's mentality and how we function. The fact we share cognitive functions makes it all easier because we use it as a common ground in our conversations and solving problems. Ne and Fe are more open to acceptance and understanding of other points of view and feelings, so this is the key for us.

I understand data talk is important, but sometimes it leads to nowhere and in the end gives no motivation to strive.

I had never thought about it in this way, but as an ENTP talking to an ISFP, it really is true that I am fascinated by his convictions! Even though I sometimes find them strange, I also respect them. Even earlier today he told me something that absolutely fascinated me, and every time he says something like that, I just want to dig deeper to find his reasoning. He is so mysterious and fascinating to me that I just can't get enough! We talk on the phone for _HOURS,_ and honestly he has made me think more actively about and get in touch with my own feelings. What I'm trying to say is that we're not necessarily trying to test you, but we want to understand you because you are so immensely fascinating to us! I bet the person you are talking to often thinks about a hundred different scenarios with you in them, wondering about what you'd think about something and why.

@@Zeverinsen Aww, that sounds so sweet :'))) Haha, I know that the person doesn't mean to be irritating or trying to disprove me, he really can't stop looking at different angles and genuinely wants to see how they clash and what stands. But sometimes as an ISFP, I struggle with explaining myself in words, against the data that he gives. So while I'm still firm on my belief, I can't always show how. Idk maybe that can come off as dumb and shallow to them afajsdklk I hope not! He's still talking to me so it can't be that bad lol. It's sweet to hear that you find an ISFP so charming, he sounds great, way better than me in articulating himself 😂

I can only speak from my own experience, but when it seems like I question an ISFP too hard, it's really only because I want to understand why they feel like this about something. Me challenging certain things is only another methode of me to find out what is going in their minds. It's fascinating for me!

Waah i never thought y'all see it as "testing"😭 I did this to all of the Fi friends i encountered. I just find them genuinely interesting with how firm they are with their morals. I try to come up with scenarios that would shake their values, but they don't budge. It's satisfying to witness that. I admire that moral consistency that you guys have because it somewhat resonates to my Ti (except i strive for logical consistency). So, i agree with the previous comment that we just want to understand. Just to put it out there, one thing i find really grateful for Fi is that they respect my wants, opinions, feelings and morals. I have a hard time saying no but Fi taught me that it wouldn't hurt people if i just say my feelings like y'all did. Because fascinatingly enough, given your nature of being honest and blunt with your opinions even controversial ones too, people seem to still like you. So i just learned that I can make people happy just by making myself happy. That's something I'll be forever grateful for

@@leina1858 😭Wow, what a misunderstanding! I would feel very interrogated and uncomfortable. And by the end of the questioning, I would feel somewhat looked down upon because I struggle to articulate what I feel/think. Often times, my first answer is not the right answer because I may only begin to figure myself out as soon as the question is asked. I converse way better when typing/writing because I have time to think. I'm afraid people will think I'm shallow or that my morals are not strong just because I need time to form them into words. In some scenarios, my initial instinct is to save myself although it breaks my morals. But if it happens in real life, based on experience with different scenarios, I know I will take some time to build my strength and do what's right. So when asked theoretically, I may be ashamed of my immediate answer and will have no way of proving to you that I am capable of defending my morals in the long run. That kills me. In real life, if I see equal pros and cons for two alternatives given to me, I will need others' opinion (maybe someone with strong Te) or I will let fate decide. But when asked theoretically, at that time, I feel a spotlight on me. That conditions me to answer it like an exam, with no external help. And I may say stupid or contradicting things. So I fear the questioning. 😖 I think ISFPs are more comfortable letting the action do the talking. I deeply appreciate someone who figures me out by noticing the decisions I make or the care I give others. I think people who have asked me about my thoughts and ideas don't truly know me because my thoughts are very specific for specific scenarios and my ideas change all the time. I don't always behave the way I say I am. But I think INTJs can figure me out nevertheless. So maybe I'm wrong. Maybe intuitives can really know me well from what I tell them 🤔🤗

As an INFP you’re so right about the dynamic that sets up with an ENTP, to include a coworker of mine. I feel like her Ne gets so far out of hand as to be a problem when it comes to actually getting shit done, and sometimes there is this really amoral stuff that I can’t stand, to include a disregard for doing what she’s committed to do. If I don’t keep my word, I am upset. If she doesn’t, it’s like oh well, screw ‘em. On the other hand she’s also not someone I have to constantly be on eggshells with and when my humor gets edgy or I need to give blunt feedback I know I’m not going to be offending her.

@@Zeverinsen As a fellow Ne user I know forgetting happens. 😉 In her case it’s the complete lack of regret that gives me a WTF moment. I should note that I was raised by an ENTJ dad and ESTJ mom, so my inferior Te was in constant boot camp while growing up. It probably also has an effect too…I mean, the office ENTP thinks I can be a real alien sometimes. What I am waiting for, though, isn’t any kind of clash with me. What I will really break out the popcorn for is if she ever finally has an epic throwdown with the ESTJ manager. I mean, if I get annoyed with not keeping one’s word or other chaotic stuff, I just have a feeling those two are eventually going to have a major blowout. Adding fuel to the fire is that we just switched to Agile for our projects and it really is the ascendency of the Te users instead of the Ti Masters of Scope Creep. 🤣 (Ne/Ti is like the ultimate scope creep combo.) In contrast the ESTJ and I actually get along with great, more so than with another manager whose type I really haven’t pinned down yet, because I know what to expect and what to do with Te-doms. That means the ESTJ and I can be surprisingly hand in glove compared to the stereotypes about how well INFPs and ESTJs are “supposed” to get along. (Total sidetrack…ESTJs get such a bad rap but IMO they are very good for telling you exactly what they want and not playing stupid games like changing the rules mid-course or hiding feedback in hopes of you banging yourself, or other dumb drama BS like that.)

Love gaining understanding and making sure it follows through logically. And that's why I just...vibe...with INTPs. Ya'll just make me feel at home. I spend a lot of time trying to Fe chaos around me, but I KNOW that no one actually likes me or wants to know the real me. Except INTPs. I can always count on your type to pull up a chair. I can just be myself. So maybe you don't hear this enough, but thanks for just being you. As for INFJs....blech. There's an attraction there. But there's also a ticking time bomb there. ISFP here, married to an ENTP for 10 years now. Love him very much! It's a great relationship, we're a good team 💖☺️. That's not to say that we don't fight and clash sometimes... We do, like once a month or so... When it happens-I'm extremely sorry for my neighbors having to hear it all... We get fiery🔥... But also never stay mad for long. The important thing is that our values very much match... When we talk about something, we both bring out an interesting side that the other one hadn't seen. He's taught me to be tougher and say no to people, I also take his sarcasm and jokes well. He loves that I'm not very bossy and take care of his physical and emotional needs, and of the kids. I'm sometimes sad because he changes his mind often, and backs out of his promises. He gets mad when I'm very nice to other people, and all bubbly... But with him I'm never a hypocrite... I tell him the truth, sometimes in a not-so-loving way🥲... So he gets jealous for the attention others get, he thinks he's not that important to me... That I'm ready to defend other people against him... But that's not true, I am open before him because I care, and sometimes wish I can be as much upfront with others as I am with him. ☝️But to us those are just minor issues that are easy to deal with... I guess for us, it's the Fe that clashes with Fi... He can easily express himself, while I am still learning to say what I think in a loving manner right away, instead of bursting at him later on. He also taught me to research my data and come to him with a short and important thesis, instead of starting at Genesis and finishing with Revelation (as I'm doing here right now😆). With him it's never boring... We love adventure, sports, doing ministry at our church together. Others say that they love hanging out with our family because we're chill and open💖.

The problem I have with the socionics concept of the golden pair is that you may want to be like the person who represents your aspirations, but you may not actually enjoy their company, as much, because there's competition for the same sorts of inner needs. It's much better for Se users to seek out Si users in relationships. Going with those on that are closest to your aspiration while keeping to the same side of the N vs. S divide seems to really help in that regard. In the case of ENTP, that would be INFJ instead of ISFJ so that negative Se isn't clashing for both people and the judging functions are still flipped in position which will help each other grow as a person to see the world in new ways.

As an ENTP with an ISTJ mother....the coin flip analogy is completely right. So many times we talk past each other but the times in life when we do work together we had an unstoppable dynamic.

One of my boardgame buddies is an ENTJ and I think you're spot-on. We can really give eachother a run for our money but where I sometimes get lost in deliberation, run out of steam right before the game reaches it's conclusion and forgot my perfect plan, he hás the perfect plan, got some rest (when I was eating the clock) by nót going over every unnecessary contingency and whacks me over the head with it 😂 I love those games

I'm an ENTP with Intp and esfj brother. That exactly our relationships, I always fight with the esf for hours, I always tell him how annoying he is and he always tell me how chaotic I'am and bounce ideas with this Intp, even if it is really rare since he needs a lot of time alone. It was fun growing up together. And my best friend is an Infp. I don't understand her fi but it is fun to mess with her and conversation flow and is easy

I personally have love and hate relationship with ENTPs. My sister is one, she's very annoying but i still love her. ENTPs are probably the most fun i ever had

Our dynamic with ISFJS being often a coinflip to great to terrible is awfully true. One my best friends is an ISFJ, and while I love to hear her talk about the way she does things and admire the "there's no way out, now we can only accept it" philosophy that I've found is exceptionally wise in its own way, especially in contrast to my tendency to get stuck in a situation by paradoxically trying to improve it, there's an undeniable aspect in the way she operates that at times throws me off the roof. It often shows up as me excitedly asking what she's been up to and her replying saying the EXACT same thing in the exact same way as the other times I've asked her, wich can be boiled down to her doing the same kind of things every day too, I guess. It's silly and kind of stupid, but painfully annoying. Her deliberately choosing to react to something the same way she has already done thousands of times before or even worse, her being able to somehow apply those same answers to different questions completely ruins my excitement for a moment. The way I've found to deal with this is purposefuly skipping this step and going straight up to more universal, abstract topics I think to myself for a second I might be up to talk about instead of doing the Ne way of drawing attention to more interesting stuff outside of something else, as our activities throughout the day, for example.

I (ENTP) have a close ISTP friend and it's not always like how he said it to be in the video. ISTPs think whatever they belive in to be right and for you to just accept that as fact, because they said it. They have this resistance towards thinking about possibilities and different paths a situation could lead to. A good thing about ISTPs is that they can get angry easily which is fun sometimes. But don't get me wrong, i love ISTPs because of how stubborn and rough they are but they are also so sweet and nice

Yeah as an INFP, me and a couple of ENTP moments have been like nails on a chalkboard. But thankfully it’s been better and I usually keep to myself out of respect. Also growing up with a brother that’s an ESTP kinda helps give some understanding in how to approach a ENTP.

As an ENFP dating an ENTP, I'm curious 🧐 I know when he said he has never met someone who can match his energy and intelligence while still being so creative and fun, we were going to find a lot in one another. He sees my Fi as a gateway into understanding his inner turmoil, and his Ti brings me endlessly checking myself in the best way. His Fe helps me to see other people for their qualities and value them more and my Te helps him put form to his ideas. I love our dynamic!
