I think christians of india should learn about a scientist called ecg sudharshan, he was nominated 9 times for nobel prize and proposed the concept of tachyons. He was from a syriac christian background but he wasn't able to make church and physics make sense and he didn't have a spiritual connection, hence he became a vedanta scholar full time towards the end

To all the people who said in the comment section that we are being overly proud and egoistical by highlighting our ancestors' contribution to maths, science and other fields, I would like to say, 1) It's high time these facts were brought to light 2) One should be proud of one's and ones ancestors' accomplishments, not let others take it away just because they had the power to appropriate it and market it as their own 3) Of course we do need to live up to the accomplishments of our ancestors and do better than we've been doing for the last 200 odd years 4) But to be fair to Hindus, we have lived under foreign occupation in last 1000 odd years and were not given the opportunity to expand intellectually or make new discoveries. 5) When food and security become overriding considerations, intellectual pursuits and discoveries are left behind. - A Proud Hindu

I disagree that we did nothing to use our knowledge to rise up. There was a time when India was "up" near or at the top. All civilizations rise, peak, stabilize for a while, then decline. Bhaarat was relatively lucky to rejuvenate itself from within after every decline, to stay at a reasonable "high" for a very long time. But at some stage, it was inevitable that our civilization decline, and nearly 1000y of colonial rule hastened the process. We are on the rising curve again and will see better days.

Also, keep in mind, that India had a superb 1st class ships and ship building industry ......all of which the colonial powers destroyed !! When you voyage out, you can learn from others - Thus that path to further growth and innovation was snubbed out. And colonialisation itself, brought India to its knees, made it a begging bowl of a country. But now, see under Modi and 70yrs later, how 800 years of destruction, death and lack of development is gradually ending .......... the seeds of change have been planted. there was no european mathematics before 16th century( greek mathematics is overrated ) . they use roman numbers, and you know how much mathematics you can do with roman numbers .
@indianmilitary
@indianmilitary 8 ай бұрын
There is no such thing called 'greek" mathematics. According to western historians, science originated among the Greeks, and then developed in post-renaissance Europe. This story was fabricated in three phases. First, during the Crusades, scientific knowledge from across the world, in captured Arabic books (Arabs used to buy knowledge for gold from Hindus of India), was given a "theologically-correct" origin by claiming it was all transmitted from the Greeks. The key cases of Euclid (geometry) and Claudius Ptolemy (astronomy)-both concocted figures-are used to illustrate this process. Second, during the Inquisition, world scientific knowledge was again assigned a "theologically-correct" origin by claiming it was not transmitted from others, but was “independently rediscovered” by Europeans. The cases of Copernicus and Newton (calculus) illustrate this process of “revolution by rediscovery”. Third, the appropriated knowledge was reinterpreted and aligned to post-Crusade theology. Colonial and racist historians exploited this, arguing that the (theologically) “correct” version of scientific knowledge (geometry, calculus, etc.) existed only in Europe. These processes of appropriation continue to this day.

A dismissive attitude towards the foundational aspects of the entire modern sciences just because they 'formula-ized' and 'instrumental-ised' things using, ironically, (Bharatiya) numbers and symbols (mix of Greek and Roman) will not help you either when it comes to really understanding the 'philosophical foundation' of Bharatiya gyan-vigyan and the fundamental differences between us and the aBrahma-s. He has never claimed that schrodinger has derived the equation of the wave function from vedanta. Only a idiot can deduce such conclusions. Show me where did he imply anything remotely to that. What he has said is that schrodinger was very much influenced by Vedanta(which is true) and that as you yourself admit that vedanta forms the metaphysical basis of quantum theory. @@sanjayshah4372 I think we're on the same page as far as recognizing the movement of people, language, knowledge and culture between Asia and Europe from antiquity, so predating colonial versions of history by millennia. Europe and Asia are the same landmass. Political and ethnocentric notions of them as separate continents with little contact prior to the European "age of exploration" are absurd. The common origins of languages and religions are strongly supported by archaeology, linguistics and anthropology. However I'm reasonably certain that "Europe" only started to accept mathematics and science of Indian origin from the Enlightenment onward. That's after they were introduced by the Muslim Moors when they had conquered swathes of southern Europe. To be clear, I'm not making an apologist argument for Europe or denying the Indian origins of much of the foundations of modern maths and science. Just saying that Indian mathematics and science reached Europe via Islamic societies that had already learned them from India.

Thamizh is NOT the divine language. Sanskrit is the divine language. Thamizh or any other Indian regional or world language does NOT have the same vibratory frequencies (of Sanskrit) which are in sync with resonances of matter. Thamizh is just another Kaliyuga language which originated from human ego. Anything which came out of human ego cannot be called natural or scientific or logical. But Tamil tradition is also based on the same Hindu/Vedic metaphysics like rest of India. So, there is nothing unique about Tamil language or tamil tradition other than politics.
