for sure. avada kedavra needs to be a finishing move, or a sort of charge up to 100% move where you can use it on any enemy in the game for an instant kill, flinging it around constantly would make the game a cake walk and as cool as it would he, the charm would wear off eventually and make every other combat spell redundant. my thoughts are exactly the same as you, except I think there will be main bosses where when you cast the killing curse they manage to block it with an object or dodge it, avoiding allowing the player to go into a major boss fight with the ability to end it with a single spell, again would destroy the game being fun knowing you can just end every fight instantly 😂

You'd have to truly want the other person dead for the spell to take full effect (Mad-eye Moody/Barty Crouch Jr confirms this in Goblet of Fire) 2. Some magical beasts have strong enough hides to stand a few hits of it (Dragons, Giants I think, and also Qilins)

I always play really hard to one side then play again and do it opposite. With Infamous games you get every ability in the game(Evil and Good) on your second playthrough if you've completed Good and Evil stories.

Yes. That’s a good thought about being progressed into the dark path in order to be able to use the spell effectively. And also being like a finisher/executioner move after the enemy is weakened to like 10-30% (depending on spell proficiency).

I do see a point to using Crucio on the light side. It would really depend on how bad the conflict goes and how much the good side need the information that they have. I think it could be justified. If the trio using Imperio was justified and even McGonagall could get away with using it once in the book during the Battle of Hogwarts, along with Harry using Crucio on Bellatrix seemingly without a punishment, I think you could get away with it. Let's also not forget Snape's blue killing curse in HBP. All spells and finishers should be available to you and it should be up to you as to which spells you use. It should come down to what you're using them for and how much you use them that should determine if you stray to the dark path or stay on the light path.

I wouldn't even say the use of the 'unforgiveable' spells even has much to do with morality, on a D&D alignment scale I'd say it has more to do with lawfulness. There's plenty of 'morally dark or grey' things Wizards are fine with while there's morally 'light or grey' things they aren't.

If I recall correctly a faction of the anti-Death Eater Ministry/Aurors in the First Wizarding War (including Mad Eye Moody) actually advocated the use of unforgivables to combat the Death Eaters. Harry and Co. used both Imperio and Crucio at points, and honestly AK doesn't seem that inherently evil... it's "instant, painless, death". We should be able to. Wouldn't make sense otherwise. Considering the first character I'm going to create for it is Lady Johanna Constantine, I intend to go a grey path. However, I have no idea if we can go a middle path between dark wizard and auror-esque wizard. I hope we can, but Harry Potter tends to go the black & white style of story telling. Kinda like Lucas's depiction of the force.

Though I'm not the biggest fan of expelliarmus there could be an overpowered version where it knocks the wand out of the enemies hand knocks them back and out to.I know if happens in the movies or the 3rd movie anyway. Been researching a bit since I read this comment 😄 I would say Dexter is a possibility, but very low, imo. Fortescue was described in OotP as red-nosed and corpulent (which means having a large bulky body). Only way I could see him being the headmaster is if they completely altered his appearance OR he's someone we haven't seen in the trailers yet (which would be weird if he wasn't there in the sorting ceremony scene). I'm leaning strongly toward the headmaster being Black and it's the wizard with the pointed goatee standing beside our character in the sorting ceremony.
