Travel to Japan with a humble attitude: Try to be polite, observant and able to speak some Japanese or even just make the effort to do so: Be quiet and unassuming in public spaces. It seems hard for many cultures to change orientation to do these but I think they will help the experience in Japan of a tourists who is like a well mannered and grateful guest. The best tips for being a tourist are usually the same: 1. If you know someone native and are able to stay with them and allow them to show you around as they live, that is the best experience. 2. Research before you arrive so you can plan the activities that interest you the most - in limited time there is a need to be selective what you do and see and experience. 3. LEARN SOME LANGUAGE and use it for the benefit of the native people! They invariably admire such effort in any country! Japan is distinctly different to a lot of cultures, so specifically, go with the attitude that you will be: "on your best behaviour." Achieve that during your stay as your goal no matter what and you will experience more of the culture aka "going with the grain" or "go with the flow". Finally, Japan is very rich in culture: Determine what beautiful trinkets you might wish to acquire and take back home as beautiful memorable souvenirs of your trip or holiday.

At the same time, those scenic views of mt fuji from a distance r much more possible during the winter bc during the summer fuji usually has clouds around it.

If you plan it around your flight you can get anywhere between 1000-1500 or so depending on the time of year. Traveling out of the US East coast myself. Most are one stop flights to LA or DFW, etc first, then Tokyo.

@peko7446 Жыл бұрын
Which airline? I searched, for example, for April 2023 JFK-NRT and I got $1500 or less on EVA (no stopping at LAX, direct flight to TPE then NRT). Then I searched for JFK- Tokyo (any airport) and I got $1600 on JAL (non-stop JFK-HND). Haneda is closer to Tokyo than Narita. On EVA, JFK-Tokyo (any airport), I got $1039 , 1 stop in TPE. ANA is ~$1700 for a non-stop flight. At the price your saying, you can fly premium economy. The other option is split your flights in the US. Fly JFK-LAX then LAX-NRT or HND. Sometimes it's more economical that way. The only problem is if your initial flight is delayed, you might miss your next flight. If you do it this way, you really need to give yourself plenty of hours in between flights as a buffer in case of a delay. You also have the option of arriving a day early in LA and find accommodation for a night then get an early flight to Tokyo. Do the math, plan and decide which is best for you.

Could you ask tourists what social ettiquette they have learnt that they recommend to know before visiting Japan? Or I guess asking locals things that are expected. Thanks great channel.

When you come to Japan with a clear purpose and do what you want to accomplish, you will think everything is easy and cheap, but you have to resist the temptation, lol, as the friends below say, it is difficult to maintain a budget , there are many things that can tempt you (with a clear purpose)!!!

Takashi-san, Japan and Japanese should be wary of who they shall be letting in the country. Please do not take anyone or you could live to regret it.

Takashii, when you ask how much did you budget to come to Japan, you should probably also ask the question for HOW LONG.

3 month trip to Japan from Feb 5th till April 25th 2023, I expect to spent 8000-10,000 US dollars. Fun food and transportation. The bullet train and hotels are the biggest expense. This is my 3rd Japan trip

Info from these interviews were pretty accurate, about 200-300 per day. If I recall, I spent roughly around $3500 for a 14 day trip to Tokyo and Kyoto and most, if not all that was spent on myself. Most of my spending was on food and using the train (adds up quick) even though I had the JR pass. I do have to say JP was more expensive than I was expecting if I'm being honest but when I vacation, I never let money hold me back from enjoying my time. My 14 day trip to JP was actually more expensive than my 18 day trip to Europe (Paris, Londa, Amsterdam, and Barcelona) where I only spent around $2500. Then again, all the budgeting was done by my friend at that time and we had a group of 10 people. In the end, it's all about budgeting and knowing where to go and who to contact for the cheapest prices. I'm a lazy kinda guy and I kind of just swipe as long as I personally think the price is around average or below the average compared to other places. Some people enjoy planning vacations around budgeting but not me.

Flights with a fee for a refund $3500 (non refundable tickets were half price, with covid fears the extra price was necessary evil). Yen brought over and purchased 210,000 Yen. Around 800 Canadian spent on goods to bring back. I currently have around 20,000 Yen left and my flight is today, November 2nd-17th Japan time. Anything not spent on goods was spent on food and transportation. I could've bought more impulse purchases but reasoning and storage space was limited. Got the 21 day rail pass but could have gone with 14 day one. Very productive trip since 2019 guided tour. Got a lot done solo this time. A bit Japaned out, mostly on places I want to visit. Don't worry, I got some other areas in mind and more things to figure out. Not done with Tokyo just yet. Hiroshima is almost done enough and I can say I can opt for another city instead of Kyoto next time. Not sure if sakura season is enough to return there yet. Looking at Tokyo Gunma area, Fukuoka and saga areas next. 650 CAD JR rail pass and budget hotels ie under 100CAD per night.
