How expensive is Langkawi Malaysia? An island famous for it’s duty free shopping, cheap beer and many things to do. But how much does REALLY cost for tourists in 2020?
In this travel guide, I cover all of must see sights and hidden gems: Including the Langkawi Skybridge, Cenang Beach, Tanjung Rhu Beach, and the Seven Wells waterfall.

I spent what was possibly the best two months of my life living on this island (three years ago now), was there at low season so not busy at all, because it was monsoon season we had a lot of thunder storms during the night however only had heavy rain once during the day time in the whole of the two months, the rest of the time was sunny everyday!

Great video as always…really enjoy watching your stuff! Malaysia never enters the conversation when we’re looking for places to visit…but this video has been very persuasive! Looks like a great place to visit…and not *too* expensive (compared to where we usually go!). The beaches do look amazing! The optical illusions are hilarious! Good information on what’s worth spending your money on…thanks for sharing!

Another great video. Brought back some memories of when my schoolmates and I went to to Langkawi after our A Levels, although the Skybridge and amusement part wasn't there. Gosh, the queues for the cable car are insane. It really is like a typical amusement park where you spend more time queuing than on the rides. 😂 The 7 Wells looks really fun, if you can get out. Mannn, I need some island life NOW. Dang all the travel restrictions.

I went to the sky bridge for the first time a few days ago and lucky for us the queue was not busy.. My first time travel to langkawi and I'm quite suprise the food is quite cheap and taste good, beer you can get even rm1 per can at free duty shop.. Very helpful citizen, traffic not busy.. The downside only when driving need to be more cautious, encounter few times motorist move out of junction without check for clear traffic.. Overall, great experience to stay at langkawi

Good video. I've been to Langkawi in Jan 2017 for a week and I do agree in what you said in regarding queuing for the Sky Bridge although I was lucky that I got through without any queues but in my opinion it was worth it. The Seven Wells was awesome but there were 2 more waterfalls on the island which was just as good: Temurun and Durian Perangi. In terms of beaches, Pantai Cenang is the most popular and that is where I stayed as well but yes I agree that Tanjung Rhu is amazing. There were other things we did like Mangrove Tour, Island Hopping Tour, Day Trip to Koh Lipe in Thailand, Gunung Raya Mountain at sunset, Sunset Cruise, Snorkelling at Pulau Payar Marine Park, Bird Paradise Wildlife Park, Jungle Trekking, Underwater World and Eagle Square - all good. Night markets are really good and food price are cheap and cheerful...and delicious.

@@OneShotAdventures Maybe when you went, those waterfalls may have been dry but when I went there it was in full flow. We did a day trip to Koh Lipe, it takes about less than 1 hour from Telaga Harbour and I think I stayed for 6 hours - all the main 3 beaches were good (Sunrise, Sunset and Pattaya). Pattaya Beach is busy because that is where you go regarding immigration and lots of boats. I did recently come back from Thailand about 3 weeks ago having stayed in Krabi (again) - I'm a fellow Brit traveller like you. Look forward to your Koh Lipe video and I will make a comment about my experience there

Great vid which brought back many great memories. Been there twice, 2007 and 2012 and hired a car and drove around the island and went to the top of Gunung Raya which had great views. Went to the cable car and it was closed both days for maintenance. So Gunung Raya is a non crowded alternative. Not sure of traffic though. There appears to be way more tourists. Was it a school holiday time?

Hey, nice opening hook! 😂 That island song sounds so familiar... 😉 Those drinks don't seem that great a deal. The traveling food market looks amazing. Did y'all find a favorite? So nice to have the lack of people at the beach. LOL at "whatever the opposite of a hidden gem is"! 3D museum looks like a fun way to pass the time--puppets were the best, hahaha. I wonder why the monkeys had it in for Toni?? Much better way of spending your time instead of standing in line for hours. How did you find out about these falls/pools/slide? LOL at not being able to get out; April would probably have the same problem! 😄

@@OneShotAdventures There are better ways to book hotels. My last stay in Shangri Las cost me about £60/night in August last year but had I booked it differently at short notice then yes they could have been that expensive. A good thing to remember about Malaysia is that there's far more accommodation than people wanting it and this has been the case for over 20 years particularly in the cities. Just avoid holidays. I'm not sure I'd regard Langkawi as a paradise Island having been there several times. There are few of those left but finding them is getting more and more difficult. Some of the islands on the east coast have better claim but I would never visit any that belong to Terengganu since they started caning young women in 2018 so now spend my money elsewhere. Pulau Tioman is nice for a few days and has some good dive spots. Unfortunately it also has sand flies as do all of the islands on this coast.

@@byteme9718 Most islands (paradise or not) with beaches will be more expensive than cities. That goes for Malaysia and other countries. For 3 people sharing a family villa on the beach front - £50 is a pretty good deal to me.

@@OneShotAdventures By western standards perhaps. Make friends there and look around for if you return. On line booking is rarely as cheap as ones made personally. I used to just wing it and turn up at destinations relying on local knowledge. I now have a long list of places that know me and where I trust them. Almost all local people hate beaches and being in the sun so tourist areas are priced toward people who enter never discussion about price. Online reviews drive up prices and if you leave good ones it drives up the prices for others. I've seen prices quadruple in a year because of this but that doesn't mean they stay in business when they get greedy. If the beach is your main priority then it may be worth a premium but although I dive to me it isn't worth it if the price will be high. I frequently stay in Tioman in a chalet just a few metres from the sea at high tide but the sound of the waves can be quite annoying when you're trying to sleep.

@@OneShotAdventures , It's common that a groccer or supermarket would have much better prices for beers than at a bar with the best view in the land. In KualaLumpur beers at the commercial districts are 2-5x that of the suburban supermarkets

Talk about prices only....so typical of low budget tourists. RM55 for cable car and sky bridge expensive? You got to be kidding me. Video footage is excellent but commentary is pathetic.

samurai kim in this case I think author mentioned something like koah lipe which is not main Thailand and has much better beaches. Other islands u mentioned might be better. I didn't have chance to check it yet Langkawi is far away of perfection.
