I’ve been to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap just recently for a tour. I love the rustic and laid back atmosphere. The Cambodians are very nice people. They are very kind & patient. We hired a tuktuk driver for our city tour and he was very honest! His name is Sokaa. I saved his number for my future visit. The Temples are really fascinating! You must see every temples, especially the Golden Temple and the ancient Ankor Wat. I learned a lot from the Silk Island regarding silk production. Their silk cloth price are so cheap! And the food! So tasty, so delicious! Looking forward to my next visit!

Because some bad guy will steal your phone or your camera from you during you talking to your Vlog when you walking on the street. If it happened you should yell maybe people around you can help. I have lived here for about 5 years. A few tips. Don't get into fights with locals as you won't win unless you can take on 20 people by yourself. Dating a Cambodian is an adventure like no other. She definitely will make life easier as she will know what to do and how much things should be. You should definitely come with a BA and a tefl if you want to stay here longer term. Phnom Penh is nice if you like the nightlife and partying however if you are like me and prefer having fireflies light up your night and being serenaded by Tokay lizards live in a smaller city or village such Kompong Chnang or Pursat. You will feel like you are camping on a nightly basis

I really think this video is well done and I realize it's three years old now. HOWEVER, first timers should understand that regardless of what the EXACT exchange might say, the exchange is 4000 riel/ $1USD. That's just it plain and simple. Don't over pay someone in Riel thinking the rate is different and don't expect more change in Riel thinking the person is trying to rip you off. It's r4000/$1.

I currently residing at Phnom Penh for about a month now originally I'm a Filipino from Philippines. I cannot say that everyone is good because some of them are lying especially if I am asking for the price. When they know that you cannot understand Khmer language, they over price for extra money. But I don't say everyone. Some are still being honest. And I honestly appreciate Cambodian that can understand English because that is the only way I can communicate with them.

For money type,most time if you pay 1 US dollar for something at 3, 600 riel, the dealer will give you back 4-6 riel depending on the currency rate. I’m a Khmer, so this is main base on my own experience. As for mart, it’s actually more like a convenient store rather than a supermarket, if you went to an actual super market it’s way more expensive, and the price is a lot similar to us price. So like you said best just to go to a local market, it’s way Better
@dechkunnchhay4165

Thank you for visit my home city, not many people spend more than one day in PP and I'm surprised that you did. The last time you said Wat Ounalom was correct, in this video you instead butchered the name😂. The price in the mart was relatively the same compared to what you could find on street vendors, just a bit more expensive for some products. Also I know you might have already done with Siem Reap, but if you visit SR again, I recommend you to visit Beng Mealea temple if you want to get the Indiana Jones vibe.

I recommend using Passapp or Grab (Appstore/Playstore app) You can travel cheaper compared to the tuktuk on the streets, Tuk tuk on the street mostly really expensive just because you’re a foreigner, they can charge you up to 5-10$ while you can use a passapp or grab for just 2-3$ in 10 kilometers.

Change all of your money that you will need into Riel. And ask for your change back in Riel. It was easier for me that way. Many businesses don't carry large amounts of Riel. So only bring what you need. Make sure you use up all of your Riel as no country outside of Cambodia will exchange it.

Fresh vegie can be found in wet market and they are cheap, but if u dnt wanna go to wet market, you may prefer the super marjet chain such as Super Duper, Lucky, and aeon max value, kiwi mini mart and mart around toul tom poung area. For wet market, most of the place is ok, just skip the derm kor market.

Definitely learn khmer as it will impress locals. I enjoy going to the market and asking for produce and meat in khmer instead of English. Then I go home and translate what I learned into Spanish, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Turkish, and Russian. Why you might ask. I am bored at home thanks to covid 19 and when I am bored I study things. Some thing I learned no person should know

why the royal palace and other place is expensive because the big big boss is the advantage from that income and not develop it. And im not really sure what im said is real but it normal in our country.one more thing i want to in clude is the that the seller all way sell thing to foreigner more expensive than the local people.If u want to drink a good qulity of water you should buy it at the small shop it only 0.25$ ber bottle. . . . . Don't mind my English

Panda Mart is more like a convenience store, not really a supermarket. Lucky Supermarket, Super Duper, Makro, AEON (1 and 2) super markets are more like supermarkets. Russian market also has Royal Mart, it's pretty big and seems to be always expanding. Imported products are more expensive. Produce is pretty cheap whether purchased at a store or local market. Tourists get a marked up price at local markets, sometimes it's cheaper just go to the store
