Every time you say "taxis" I hear "taxes", and that's actually a good thing to talk about in a video like this. How high are taxes in Estonia? How many taxes are there? Salaries you mentioned are net or gross?

Hey dear , please I need to know , how can I apply for residency when I get tho tallinn by a tourism visa the country ? Is it an option ? And if I have to find a job , and my job is a nails technician , do they make the residency for me ? Or it would be hard ?

Yes utilities are really expensive even for renovation and maintance of grass cleaning of stairs and collection of gargabe plus electricity hot water and electric heating. I was shocked the apartment cost 280 plus utilities is around 400. In Tartu transport is not free the card cost 3€ and 7.50 per month with discount for students

Not as expensive as regular apartments, but depends solely on the school and the type of hostel it is.

Public transport is not free in Tartu but a 30-day ticket costs 15 euros so it's still affordable.

yeah its very expensive to live in Tallinn taking into account the salaries that people earn/or the benefits people get (like the unemployment benefit it is also very low) and especially expensive are the rent prices in Tallinn, if u are Tallinn citizen the public transportation is free (thats the only good thing).

Yes, it is. You just have to register your address and pay for the transport card, it used to cost about 3 euros for the card.

It depends on how many dependents you have, however if its just you , it is very sufficient.

That is nearly impossible. I am not aware of any employers in Estonia, willing to sponsor candidates from Nigeria. I don’t mean to discourage you though, you can give it a shot.

nothing is free, esp transport. When you register as a resident tax money is allocated which is why Tallinn did it. You ended up paying more in tax than if it was ticketed. MRP Linna Liinid OÜ also went bankrupt as their cost went up and the rates didnt, so fewer busses on the road

Yep 20% are pretty steep, but again most European countries esp. Belgium & Germany has much higher tax rates yet public transport still ain't free

@@_rio Estonian taxes are masked as payroll tax. Its not 20%. I have several employees and if they take home 1000 eu the total cost is 1750 eu to the company. That is their gross wage which is in line with other EU areas in terms of tax % when you add social tax, unemployment, and personal income tax.
