Believe me Cincy would love to get him signed ASAP now before Jefferson, Jaylon Waddle already got his deal done with the dolphins and will now affect both Tee and Jamar so I'm with you on the concern having either of them back.Because this organization lately will spend big on older injured or problematic players rather than keeping their own player that want to stay a Bengal.That has been this organization 's problem since they were introduced in the league in 1969. No wonder we've been on the loosing end, dynasty 's are created by keeping players you drafted, the good ones on long term deals . This way the whole team and organization stay fitted and unified around the league where other great one's that play for other teams want to play for Cincinnati.The culture will also remain the same. I get it ,the brown family needs to open that pocket book right now on players they drafted not free agency.This team right now still has that Superbowl bowl talent around them so they need to invest in growing that pocket book on the team not themselves, the players know and understands what goes on, that is why frustration fumes around the locker room . It then turns contaiges around the team and now the culture and focus on winning becomes a downward spiral. Yes we need Jamar and Tee around , especially Jamar. Not having neither could potentially devastate Joe Burrow . Joe has already suffered enough having to play behind a offensive line that has been rank near dead last his entire career so far. Yet we're still hopeing this on-line can get it together. Even when Andy was playing with out witworth or Kevin Ziegler his performance started to dwindle as the offensive line became a train wreck,having to move players out of their natural positions also made matters worse. That is not how to solve the issues. You pay the players you drafted that perform for you week in and week out when their cheap rookie contracts run out to longer term deals. That is why this team fell off the wagon last season. Not only that our highest most important piece of the whole pie has been swallowed up every game almost,even with the wins doesn't help. So yea we need at least Jamar no matter how much more the next great player out their makes. Yes unfortunately the wait is long, until Jefferson deal gets done will see how bad Jamar wants to remain a Bengal. It will be costly though believe that. So it matters for sure and also now more importantly investing more on the online for the sake and future of Joe and the entire organization. Other wise this whole thing of Superbowl will be just another washed up dream for our city and the Lombardi trophy held up high over our Bengals head.

In reality Tee is worth half that, he only has half or less catches,receiving yards,touchdowns and games played than Jefferson.Maybe if he stayed healthy and was available to play 17 games for once in his young career he might just get a bigger contract instead of being tagged.But hell so many players expect more money handed out to them undeserveably.Some dogs bite big but more undeserveably. Tee take notice and sign the tag and go out there and play your ass off then maybe the front office well reconsider . If not other teams will look and acknowledge the fact and situation you were in and pay you the contract you want ,then you can talk. But sitting out of camp and mopping around not giving a F!#@$!?!K. all season will come back to bite you getting that big contract wether it's Cincy or any other team. Don't loose your form you too damn good of a player . This league can easily deflate a player. Stay healthy and sharp and Tee will be ok. to stay hopefully in the Nati Jungle. If not your time in Cincy wasn't wasted if you play 2024 season out because other teams will look to sign you then and your worth depending how well you played out the 2024 season . I hope you do and remain a Bengal your entire career like legendary wr. Issac Curtis .

Just maybe the front office should include Coach Taylor and the franchise QB, Joe Burrows in these discussions. It was revealed on this podcast earlier that this isn't happening. When the Chiefs need money they renegotiate Patrick's contract. Off the top of my head, it's been about 3 times Patrick's has agreed to renegotiate. Is that a possibility for the Bengals? Or, some of the creative alternates James suggested. Frankly, I'm tired of the front office drama which I believe overtime will damage player morale.

Quarterbacks do need good playmakers to succeed not just average come off the bench guys.The front office spends big in free agency,but when it comes down to keeping your best players we just let them walk. That is bad business in my book. The Bengals will never win if this front office can't sign the best players on this team and keep this team together.

It's not a philosophy thing it is 100% about the NFL Funding Rule. Look at that rule and look at the Bengals Operating Income. They have a pretty hard limit on how much they can toss into escrow.

Guaranteed money for not doing anything is insane. No player in the NFL is worth more money than most people will make in a lifetime. Every single player is grossly overpaid.

I can sort of understand people being a little frustrated with these insane contracts. But I never hear people say the same thing about the owner. Unless ticket prices go down (which of course I’d love, but they’re not going to) then it is what it is. And if that’s going to be the way things are, I’d rather the players get their fair share of the revenue. They are who we’re watching after all. The owners mean nothing to me.

Why would they ever agree to not tag Tee a 2nd time? For the team to give up a massive bargaining chip they need something in return. What is Tee offering in return? He will show up? He has to show up anyway or he never gets paid. If Tee sits the entire year, The Bengals would have the tag number added to their cap space next year and they can just do the same thing again.

Hard to see the Bengals giving up $40M AAV and over $100M guaranteed to a WR, especially when they feel like they can just let him play out the 5th year and tag him twice for cheaper than $40M in either year without ever having the need to put over $100M in escrow. I hope I'm wrong for sure but it's way outside of their comfort zone.
