Seeing all these old clips in contrast to their new stuff really shines a light on how out of touch they both have become. Tom was by far my favorite comedian for a LONG time. I never liked Bert's comedy that much, but I enjoyed his dynamic with Tom on 2B1C. Now, I can't STAND to hear either of them speak longer than 5 minutes without being annoyed. Hearing Tom basically gloat about how much money he blows, immediately reminds me of a bit he did in his "Totally Normal" special from 2014. He talks about shopping for things WAY out of his price range knowing he can't afford it. Now instead of relating to his audience, he basically says "haha I'm rich, you're poor! Good joke right?!"

No, Tom did change. He had a catastrophic, extremely public injury, whilst at the SAME time, probably making 10x more money than he’s used to. This stuff DOES change someone. Tom couldn’t help but capitalize on everything being thrown at him, and probably became a slave to this opportunity. I didn’t stop watching YMH becuase Tom became a dick, he was kinda always a bit of a dick. It just became a whole lot less fun, becuase I can tell Tom isn’t having any fun. It’s all very inorganic and purpose built. We can feel how forced it is. That’s the problem. Edit: Oh yeah, he also had two kids during this period. I called it about my best friend, and I'm calling it for Tom. He's leaving his wife this year. He's completely different as a person, he's leveled up where millionaire feels poor and he realizes Bert is someone billionaires toss millions at as a clown to entertain them

Great video! Something occurred to me while you were going over Tom's watch rant that hadn't before. I don't think people were sending him DMs saying he and Bert talking about expensive things like watches made them feel bad. I think people were sending him messages saying their talk about luxury items was boring and not what they wanted to see. The whole "it makes me feel bad" sounds like Tom making assumptions about why people were complaining.

Tom is 100% cringe now and Bert has amazingly become more likeable.

is there a best of Tom Segura podcast moments compilation to watch on KZfaq? because I've literally never seen the guy say something funny. People say he fell off which implies he used to be funny? When? I'm not talking stand up, I mean as a talk show guy. He's just sits there being boring hoping that the other person says something funny. Or are his podcasts not supposed to be funny and i don't get it? Someone please explain why people watch these two talk, i don't get it

He's terrible. People who liked him are terrible judges of what's good and what's not. He was never funny.

the original podcast he had was literally just react content, Tom fans are much lower in mental capacity than say rogan fans, which is saying a lot.

I liked his early early stand ups. Thought he was a funny guy. Standups have progressively gotten worse, and I only see his podcast stuff on these criticisms videos because the dumpster fire fascinates me. Bert is insufferable and not funny but at least seems like a good friend. Tom's become arrogant and pretentious

Maybe Tom counted on his dad to help keep him grounded. It must have been a terrible loss for him. They were pretty tight.

You lose your dad, you have two kids, you have one of the most extreme preposterous injuries ever in a public fashion, you watch as the world eats itself alive, and you’ve NEVER been more successful on the biggest tour of your life. Any one of these things can change someone, but all of this happened in like a 5 year time span.

When I was younger I went through an accident at work a little different than Tom's but same type of deal with surgeries and a lengthy rehab and I developed an addiction to percocet for the next 3 yearsbthat definitely made me act different. I wouldn't be surprised at all to find out that Tom is still dependent on opiates. The weight loss would make sense too.

Interesting video, but noticed you never mentioned Tom's Dad dying. His Dad had a huge impact on his life. Not just to keep his Mom in check and the things she felt comfortable asking Tom for, I think he also had a similar influence on Tom for staying humble and down to earth. Like most of us, much of what Tom did and the decisions he made were influenced with the desire to make is Pa proud in mind. When his Dad passed it was as if Tom lost that voice in his head asking him "what would my Dad think of this?"
