Love it Tig. Would've wanted to see the other numbers with the 3 wood to kinda understand what's happening like strike patterns heel/toe and up/down the face, face angle, apex, and angle of attack. If the 5-wood was 20 degrees maybe you could consider a 6-wood (7w length lofted down) and 4-wood (5w length lofted down) combo or some type of 3 hybrid and 4-wood combo.

A lot of golfers like to tinker around golfing equipment, etc. With this being said, As my Golf instructor said before. “It’s the Archer, not the Arrow”. 😇. Those fairway woods make the gaps perfect. But after watching a lot of your videos, I think you are going to pull out your 2 iron whether you are facing a challenging tee shot, or trying to reach par 5 in 2. That means you don’t really need the woods and that’s perfectly fine. You can hit longer than Rory, you should carry 5 wedges😊
@scottcampbell6006Ай бұрын
Awesome and inspiring stuff Micah. Just looking at the stats shown on screen, is it possibly misreading your ball speed somewhat? Unless pretty much all your drives were off centre hits, it seems to be showing around 10mph slower than I'd expect.

Swing looks really good! Would just like to see you rein in that attack angle with your driver some (though part of it may have to do with teeing the ball high in the video)... What is your attack angle with 3 wood? I would assume positive by 2. You are catching it low on the face. That’s why spin is up. Try going to the 4 wood or a 3 wood with a thinner depth of face to get better ball striking. Or hit down on your 3 wood a little more.

Micah, I'd love to see you do a challenge where you set a 20 yard wide fairway and try to keep all the shots with the driver inside and then a 10 yard wide fairway for irons. I feel like your shots have gotten way better since working on your backswing, but the dispersion is still pretty big. I'd love to see how you pick a line and just hit inside it. That's where Grant and George are so deadly. They don't miss their target lines

@@AndyPlaysGolf my guess is when you're that fast you want stability from xxstif and heavy. Especially in a fairway finder. I know some tour players can game whippier shafts and long drive guys too but to me, Tig would benefit from more consistency not more distance. Pretty sure that's what most players do too, if anything is lighter and less flex, it's generally the driver not the 3 wood.
@AndyPlaysGolfАй бұрын
@@201francoisIt's a misconception that you need the stiffness because of speed. It's nothing to do with speed. It's thr load you put of a club. Yes that can come from a faster speed, but more times than not. Speed will usually cause a popper strike. He needs a shaft that will help him time his swing better. Hence the softer flex. He used a ladies shaft in his driver for a while and it caused him to swing better and time it better. He needs that for his 3w. The forgiveness will. Come with a higher launch. 4° is not good for a 3w. Even for a driver. You would be surprised how many players are in the wrong shaft because they say they "swing fast"
