Man, I've really missed when these music videos were as lively and fun as this. I get that the more simple videos where you're just singing into the mic in a studio are easier and just as profitable to make, but there's a true passion and heart to seeing you jam out at the beach.

Yeah I love Jonathan but there's definitely been a dip in effort on the video side of things. I get it but at the same time I miss videos like Stand Out and Kiss The Girl.

@@sebastianb.3978 You are right about Wolf Within (missed that one) but Storm the Castle's video was not done by him (though the Starship Velociraptor stuff is all pretty legendary). There was once a time where all his videos were really high effort, with him playing every instrument on multiple angles, with an additional "storyline" kinda thing occasionally. It had way more energy and I miss that. That being said I really like this video even if it is simple. The song itself is pretty wonderful too.

I don’t disagree, but you have to remember that these kinds of videos take *far* longer to create, which is time he could be using to make music. I prefer things as they are, it lets him keep a steady pace.

the coolest thing is that the vibe from your previous cover didn't change ; the sea background, your outfit and how the whole video [in general] was made. I feel like i'm relieving the cover from 6 years ago, but it's heavy... maybe i am, and it's an another multivers anyway, that is great, please never stop being so exceptionnal

There's something about your energy that always perfectly encapsulates the emotion of a song. Particularly the jump at 0:35. There's such a build up to it, and both your music and vocals really lean into that. I could feel myself jumping with you. It's always a first time listening to even your covers because you put so much of yourself into it. And of course, you had some awesome collaboration happening with this one! Just, amazing work as always. Y'all killed this one!

Literally i went back and listened to the one you did in 2016. Right from the beginning I can appreciate the evolution in your voice, and also the production. I like how in his older songs Jonathan would change "queen" to "king" and things like that, but nowadays he's so secure in his masculinity that he has absolutely no problem singing "I wish I could be the perfect daughter" with a straight face. Love it.

I'd like to see you and the guys do a cover of "Hoist the Colours". Not the 2 minute short version, but the 5 minute long one. I've only seen 1 other version of it. It would be pretty cool if you could keep the foot stomping and chain rattling from the movie in it. I think that adds a lot to it.
