Maybe try running it on dry ground. That truck is capable of 50-52mph out the box with a fresh battery on dry pavement. I have hit 51 with stock 15 tooth pinion and 60mph with a 20 tooth. Also, tell him to ditch the Stx2 radio and get either a Flysky gt5 or if he wants to go cheaper a Dumborc x6. Both have built in gyro and don’t have any latency issues. And both have 400m plus range. Best upgrade for an Arrma you can do and changes your whole experience.

I purchased this truck about a month ago and am very pleased with it. On a 2s it is fast and on a 3s it is extremely fast. You can go full throttle and immediately flip it on its top. I haven't done bought a speed meter yet but others are doing over 50mph on 3s.

I love my big rock .with a 20t pinion an a 100c battery mine will do 58 mph . I think it's the best all round 3s blx

Dude I added this 1 to my fleet on my birthday in November and this by far is my favorite!!! The handling, the stability, the power, and the durability out of the box are incredible!!! My only complaint is the transmitter and receiver.

Hi guys, i do like the big rock.. For your friend you should set the trigger end points and also change the punch setting from 3 to 5 and it will kick it a bit more kick and a few extra mph too.. Happy rcing guys 👍

Holy molly! That smaller scale struck goes faster on 3s at 72kph than my modded 1/8 scale on 4s which only ran 67kph lol. Arrma indeed is one of the best!

I redid my throttle end points on the 50% setting before i used mine. Does wheelies on 50% #3 punch setting. Its goes crazy hella fast on 100% 3s lipo 50c.

I picked up a big rock a few months ago when my golden retriever could easily outrun the 12428, i wanted something fast enough to keep up with him, but could also corner better then shorter body rc vehicles, i was looking heavily at the granite and the pirates 3, least till the one you reviewed started singing "you picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel" of the ones i looked at the big rock was the only one that had the ground clearance, speed, and ability to take turns at speed. Have loved it ever since. Really like the looks of the body on it, my only wish is, that arrma had included lights in the body where they should be, i'm kind of a prude when it comes to where the lights are placed, if it has a body with stickers where lights should be, just go ahead and add the lights, don't put zero lights, and don't lame out and put them only on the bumpers. spend the extra nickle of manufacturing to give us proper lights. (steps off soapbox)

I’ve got the Granite BLX which is basically the same vehicle. But I was able to get mine up to 52mph. I think that’s a little over 80kmh. Love the Granite tho. One of the best MT bashers on the market imo.

That's screaming for a 299.99 truck. Just drove my kraton 4s today for the first time. Hit a tree and need an a arm and front shock tower. About 20 bucks in parts surprisingly. Now to hunt down places to buy tools! Any recommendations? Xoxo

Nate, Abby, when I come around Yes I was abit excited about seeing a drone that was a joke not your doing at all and everytime I see a new air craft, from a cub to one of the Amazing jets that had me bouncing around thinking oh my gosh I going to get myself one of those and it will be so!!! Reality go through my mind, like every other airplane I've had,if I get it off the ground before destruction well it's not long in to that first bit of air I'm kinda flying through, because if it is off the ground it is flying, but honestly under my control well,yes if Im talking about owner ship of the control,but so far 5out of 5 times I have successfully turn a working aircraft into many many parts of non flying parts, most bent, broken,or I'm like oh I can fix this No Not Really,I love the Sky but I don't think it likes me! Or could be never had one bit of help,or anyone that had a basic understanding of any knowledge about flying around , didn't even no a human to call on the phone ! On a different note I got my 12428 delivered today it actually says 12427 not 8 it goes about 10 miles per hour so it’s going back it doesn’t say wltoys anywhere on the box just xks :-( ☹️😭
