As an HVAC Tech. You only replace a drier when you open the system, it leaks or rusts, and or gets clogged. Otherwise, they can last the entire life span of the unit
@ratishpatil4582
@ratishpatil4582 Жыл бұрын
As an hvac tech.no one can ever determine when the drier has saturated of moisture or acids or both and upto what extent or ratio or its a ratio saturation or it is just saturated and sitting idle not absorbing the residual moisture or acids in the system.all these are just assumptions.even after having a micron vacuum process on a leaked system which has a fresh drier installed.you dont know whether the system is getting cleaned or dried up by the fresh drier.any refrigeration system actually needs 1)fresh refrigerant from trusted source of low moisture or neutral ph nature 2)fresh oil charge to to the compressor to a required quantity and quality depending on the refrigerant to be used in the system 3) after leak test by nitrogen,micron vacuuming before refrigerant charge inspite of fresh drier installed in liquid line.

Enjoy the informative videos. To round out oyur HVAC basics and systems you should do a segment about testing adjusting and balancing (or as it become more known as testing AND balancing, as the adjustment rarely seems to get done anymore.). A lot of EITs, service techs and TAB tech themselves could use the information to understand the process and techniques. Also so they can understand the importance of volume dampers and where they need to place them in a duct system. Keep up the good work, Fella's!

The 2 year replacement seems odd to me, since the system if properly installed should be a closed loop. Unless there was an excessive temperature drop, acid in the system previously, or opening of the system they should theoretically last indefinitely. The only times I replace them is when there is a large temperature differential, I open the system, or retrofitting. One commercial setting I did work on however needed acid driers replaced every 6 months because it had a few burnouts historically and the previous contractor didn't clean the system so it was a pain to repair.

And thats why lennox puts the drier inside the condenser (behind the service port).if you need to change indoor txv no need to change it out..because we all know the rule here every new system needs to be hit for 45 min on vaccum or 500 microns. So if youre trusting that when the ref gets saved in the condenser/compressor it should be good

So my teachers/instructors are really hammering in the notion that the filter driers most commonly contain silica gel, but not many sources I find support that. Is there any truth to what they're saying and does someone have any sources that either support or denounce their claims.

Why is the filter placed between the condenser and expansion valve?
@zefrum3
@zefrum3 3 жыл бұрын
because this is where the liquid line is; this is the ine that carries refrigerant to the expansion valvce; it the valve became blocked then the cycle would stop working.

Isnt it efficient to use better coolant almost inert as filter driers makes compressor work harder causing high energy demand,reducing lifetime of compressor due to high workload ,and if it isnt replaced Fd complicates the problems more .and how come impurities like water get into a closed tube system of coolant,

4:25 "The filter dryer has to battle the internal pressures, as well as the atmospheric pressures, so we need a strong casing" Uh, what? Was this worded poorly? Is there something I'm not catching here? Higher ambient/atmospheric pressures decrease the amount of internal pressure that the filter dryer's casing needs to contain...

You can tell this is made by a mechanical engineer. How it works - “the dirt, water, and acids are absorbed...” None of these are absorbed. The dirt is retained by size exclusion, the water will be ADsorbed, and the acids will be chemi-sorbed. The how is works section actually doesn’t describe how this unit operation actually works, other than saying things go in and don’t come out. If you a chartered, industrial chemical engineer to join your channel and help with content.....I’m available
