I would love to see a real life see through flowmaster muffler with some kind of smoke blow through to see how it passes through. The computer simulation is cool but I would like to see one in a real life set up

Well, considering that glass pack type mufflers are a straight through perforated tube design, yes, an oval or box style muffler will have more back pressure. Please contact us on our tech line and we will be happy to try and help you find a muffler with the correct dimensions.1-330-630-0240

I just installed some flow master 40 series on my Dodge 1500 Laramie and it sounds DAMN GOOD!!! Just enough deep growl but not overbearing.

They sound good on low compression engines and Oldsmobile v8 engines,but everyone knows they only flow a tad better than stock muffs.Flowmaster that is.

Does a single in dual out create more back pressure than glass packs ? I need to know I'm goin to be putting a muffler on my 2.7l v6 intrepid in the near future but it needs a decent amount of back pressure what should I do ?

+Wade McKenney Flowmasters have an annoying hollow-metal-can sound. And those chambers and baffles impede the exhaust flow. Straight-through mufflers are the way to go.

did u not listen to the vid....they add power more than any shitty glasspack will ever do and flows sounds way better and have no resonance if u know what ur doing

Wrong. There are many flow bench tests out there that clearly show chambered and baffled mufflers impede the flow while straight-through mufflers flow MUCH better because of no obstructions. Flowmaster mufflers flow only slightly better than your average stock muffler. Straight-through design is best.

Squarebody Case /Wade McKenney where does it say that it adds power? It says that it increases the flow velocity meaning it is causing a restriction which reduces power compared to a straight through design. You can blow into a straw and the velocity coming out will be increased but so will backpressure. Why do racecars designed for max power have straight pipes then?

it cuz the air from the exhaust is more than a normal car and they do have muffelers some use flow master super 10s and some have spark arresters, looks at dyno charts flow masters give more power due to scavageing... just cuz its the path of least resistance doesn't mean it makes more power...also take the exhaust of a normal car u will notice a drop in power that's the same as a glass pack

It's a shame Flowmaster never developed any chambered mufflers for motorcycles, they could make a fortune. I would put a pair on my harley if it wouldn't look so shitty having car mufflers on it.

just get them chromed then airbrush S&S flow on the the also chrome custom heat shield
