@MsYogaGrrrl Please please PLEASE stop diagnosing internet personalities. Are you her doctor? Are you her therapist? Are you her psychiatrist? No? Then it is not your say. Don't get me wrong, I dislike Gabby with a passion, but it is never okay to spread rumors about someone having a mental disorder. Not only are you trying to say she has NPD, you're also spreading false information. NPD is not "literally untreatable" and a quick google search immediately disproves that. A common treatment plan involves psychotherapy among other things.
@imgonnakate
@imgonnakate 4 жыл бұрын
@MsYogaGrrrl I don't know of a SINGLE credible psychologist that would speculate over the INTERNET, ANONYMOUSLY, that a famous internet personality has a dangerous mental disorder. If you were qualified to do this, you wouldn't say that NPD cannot be treated. That's blatantly false, and you know it. Now you're just backtracking and throwing in a few insults to try and look holier-than-thou. I don't need to be a licensed psychologist to recognize that it is IMPOSSIBLE to diagnose someone, especially a literal stranger, just from the content they put online. You're demonizing and weaponizing NPD to use for your own personal gain, and it is disgusting. Never did I once defend her behavior in the slightest. Please quote where I did. If you are licensed and have the credentials of a psychologist or some other field that commonly deals with NPD, I'm sure you wouldn't mind giving me your full name and where you went to college, right? Since you're 'qualified'?
@jebusauriorets
@jebusauriorets 4 жыл бұрын
@MsYogaGrrrl An ever slightly competent psychologist would never demonize a personality disorder???? Or worse jump into a youtube comment section to bash on a woman, diagnose her off her KZfaq persona and EVEN WORSE do this without providing OFFICIAL SOURCES of information (especially since someone is doubting your background) for whatever they're talking about. So you're either completely incompetent or lying but good try!!!
@imgonnakate
@imgonnakate 4 жыл бұрын
@MsYogaGrrrl I do not need to give any credentials, since I am not the one who is attempting to diagnose someone they have never met over the internet. What you are trying to do is an armchair diagnosis, and that is what I am criticizing. The standard absolutely needs to change, and the public needs to be aware of the dangers that those with NPD possess, but that isn't what you nor I were arguing. In your original comment, you mentioned nothing about how the mental health system is flawed. Not once. You did, however, spread a rumor that she has NPD, and spread false information about how NPD is 'literally untreatable' which, again, is just false, from what I have seen (of course, please send me a link to a credible source that says otherwise). Is it curable? Obviously not, and that's not what I was arguing, but it can be managed through long term individual counseling. It won't work for everyone who has NPD, but it is a type of treatment that has the possibility of managing the disorder. Trying to treat someone with NPD isn't a lost cause, which is what was implied. Live Abuse Free points out narcissistic behaviors, which is fine because she doesn't try and anonymously diagnose people and has her credentials displayed. Richard Grannon doesn't try and diagnose people either. Calling someone narcissistic, like those youtubers do, is vastly different than saying that someone has NPD. If a youtuber IS trying to diagnose someone on the internet, then they are armchair diagnosing, which isn't reliable in the slightest. I just don't like the spread of possibly dangerous rumors, and instead, an actual analysis on possible narcissistic behaviors would be 100x more helpful. I find it pretty telling that you instantly resort to trying to insult me like that has any value to what we are talking about. There's no harm in warning people about narcissists, which is what I assume you are trying to do, and there's no problem analyzing someone's behavior and pointing out that it's harmful. It's just not okay to spread a rumor about whether or not someone has a serious mental disorder. She is a terrible person and obviously needs psychological help, but trying to accurately diagnose someone over the internet is, again, not possible. Your original comment, at first glance, comes across as simply a random person on the internet who watched a few psychology videos and tries to diagnose everyone they come across with a mental disorder or illness. If you are qualified to actually diagnose patients, then that's fantastic, but Gabbie is not your patient. Sincerely, a 'flying monkey armchair critic who is rushing to defend evil'

No, it's a combination of obsessing over haters AND obsessing over fans/friends who tell her what she wants to hear. She just craves any kind of attention. She doesn't know the right way to respond to situations because her motive isn't necessarily to do what's right, but instead what will bring the focus to her. If you watch her with her "friends" -- their conversations are only ever about her. When she pretends to ask them questions or address criticisms she gets, the friends always hype her up and tell her what she wants to hear. She surrounds herself with people who will only ever tell her "yes" and then cuts the others out and calls them toxic. She does the same with her fans. She has over a million followers on Twitter, so of course little like 12 year olds are going to be blown away that Gabbie replied to them, so they just type out what Gabbie wants to hear and suddenly she's talking to them.

context matters too. In some cases you CAN film someone without permission in others you cant. For example, state to state laws change on public domain and audio/visual recording. In Az for example you dont have to get permission as long as 1 party is aware. So if I know I am recording my conversation, its legal even if the other parties dont. Hey Zio: this has already been said multiple times by some larger comments, but this is important so I'm going to repeat it: there is a pretty decent difference between those two jokes. It's hard to explain, but simply put: one joke involves mocking and salvaging a joke from a common experience _for black people_ , done _by a black person_ who likely has an understanding of the nuances of the situation, and then the other is a white (passing) girl just saying "haha, black people aren't loyal to their partners and wanna smash me" (which then plays into stereotypes about a bunch of different things) . Is a stereotype also employed by the first joke? Yes, to _mock it_ , not to _reinforce it_ . This ignores any dynamics of "punching up" vs "punching down". These are literally just different jokes, though I can understand how someone could fail to realize this if they a) Don't know alot of black people b) Are not socially aware about black experiences / perspectives. I think Gabbie probably missed the punchline and thought the joke was that black people are thugs, or something...

Exactly!! You caught that too!! She said she kept asking anyone who interacted w Trisha bc she was trying to find an excuse to confront her. Gabbie DeMartino has actually said she did NOT want Gabbie Hanna to confront Trisha in any way and she just wanted it left alone and left out of it - the screenshots are on the internet and you can clearly see Gabbie D say not to!!! But Gabbie H just wanted any reason to try to start a fight w Trisha, she’d been looking for it for a long time and I’m going to say that the other friends she tried to get stuff out of were probably more strong willed w how they dealt w Gabbie H, more forceful and forward. Where Gabbie D is definitely more polite, timid, not as forward, etc and Gabbie H basically bullied her into saying what Trisha said, then ignored when Gabbie D said not to do anything and figured she could just “handle” Gabbie D bc her personality isn’t as forceful, forward or strong and Gabbie H could easily manipulate her and run circles around her!! It’s quite ridiculous and disgusting!

Lies are hard to remember as is and in an attempt to keep track of it, the brain will widdle it down to a minimum amount of detail. You can't inflate a price only to discount it so consumers feel like they're getting a discount they aren't actually getting. It's false advertising and it's not allowed by the FTC under consumer protection acts. "Offering a reduction from your usual selling price is a common sales technique. But the reduced price is misleading unless the former price is the actual, bona fide price at which you offered the article. For example, if you announce a new product for $129, but sell it to wholesalers as if it were a $79 product, and similarly discount it to direct customers, the $129 price never really existed -- and you have broken the law. The whole thing where Gabbie told Jason that Trish might have herpes really bothered me. I have herpes and while it is incurable, it's completely harmless. The worst part of having it is the stigma around it and the reactions people have when you tell them you have herpes. Now, while it is my responsibility to any sexual partners what I have, it is NOT anyone's place to share that information. That is only going to make my partner distrust me and come back with more anger then may have if I'm the one who tells them. When I imagine if someone told my boyfriend that I have hepatitis instead of herpes, it's horrifying. And if anyone reading this is newly diagnosed with herpes, you're not alone and you are going to be okay. About 6 months after I was diagnosed, I met my boyfriend who had the best reaction when I told him what I have before we engaged in any intimacy. This isn't the end of the world, I promise.

Gabbie is very condescending, egotistical while clearly insecure, in all honesty, VERY unlikable. The more she doubles down on always being right and presents these long winded explanations for why she messed up, the absolute worse that she seems. She makes herself seem worse in every defense of herself. When in reality, had she owned up to what she said and did, to the people involved and publicly, she could've saved face and honestly gained some introspection. I'm not trying to say I'm some perfect human, never have been and never will be. But as a teenager into my early twenties I had an "always right" complex. I was very learned and intelligent (I don't know what happened to me) and I spent all of my high school and college years in debate classes. I could win ANY argument. It's not a fun place to be in, and it's the place I speculate she is in as someone who obviously doesn't know her. But I remember vividly how stressful and important it was to be right. And when I suddenly fully admitted, publicly (to no audience, lol, I've not got followers) that I was wrong and I apologized. I was like, wow, it feels so much better to admit I was wrong and apologize than it does to win an argument. I'm about to be forty and I still stand by the same ideology. Assume you're wrong, consider that you're wrong, and if you still believe you're right you will at least understand why others disagree. It's a much more peaceful existence. I feel sorry for Gabbie only because I know how stressful it is to exist the way that she does. I don't feel sorry for her dealing with the ramifications of the decisions she's made and things she's said and done. It's so obvious when she's excusing inexcusable behavior that she's verbalizing to everyone else how she's excused it to herself.
@JennRighter

And when I say she’s unlikable, clearly she is. But she is a human being and I think her behavior is unlikable, but I personally believe everyone is redeemable and I’m not trying to discredit her as incapable of change. Also, me judging her is inherently self centered because it revolves around my opinion and perception of someone other than myself. It is just my opinion. I genuinely believe that Gabbie would be a much more friendly, happy, and peaceful person if she could admit when she was wrong and I say so from personal experiences.

Ashley Brown tldr: gabbie doesn’t own up to her own mistakes and when she does, it’s usually in a passive aggressive “but it’s not my fault” manner in which she deflects/ shifts blame. op feels bad for her because she’s a popular creator, so naturally all eyes will be on her and she will continue to receive waves of hate in scandals. the issue is when she consistently tries to portray a side of her that’s fun and positive but fails to own up to her wrong doings, thus being the opposite of the persona she puts up online. this is why people dislike her so much.

I want to point out that Bianca's mother didn't say she "wasn't offended at all"; what she actually says in the message is that she wasn't AS offended as Bianca's friends. Which definitely implies that people in Bianca's inner circle were hurt. Even if we choose to interpret what she said as "I wasn't offended at all" (which isn't what she said), she's not the only person whose opinion matters. Other people were close to Bianca; their opinions matter too. And she's made it pretty clear that other people were offended. I also do still feel like Gabbie's vine was racist, because of a simple test I learned: what's the joke? What is the punchline? What's the intended message? See, the joke in the original is pretty obvious. It's a black guy making a crack at the racism he faces on a daily basis. With Gabbie's version, what is the joke? Because I can't think of any direction she could've taken that in where black people aren't the punchline. If she's not doing that, she's literally just copying his video - in other words, there IS no punchline. And she's white. She doesn't get to make jokes where black people are the punchline. That's how white people have oppressed black people for millennia. As to Gabbie in general: I dunno, man. At this point I don't feel like I can support someone who literally acts like my bio dad. Everything is someone else's fault. She's always the victim. She always has a sob story. I'm over it. She's older than me - she needs to grow the fuck up. She needs to learn to genuinely apologise when she has wronged someone, instead of coming out with a sob story about how SHE was wronged. She needs to stop lying. We don't accept this bullshit from Tana Mongeau - why do we accept the same bullshit from Gabbie? Gabbie's literally older.

I imagine a therapist saying ‘yes, friend could’ve addressed issue nicer, but you’re too fixated on proving your innocence to everyone else rather than reflecting on the issue they were talking about’ and gabbie would see the little bit about the friend being a little harsh and twist that to mean that the therapist totally agrees and that her friend is entirely too aggressive and should be ashamed of being mean to her. "Well my therapist thinks that I'm really smart and everyone should listen to me." She's been diagnosed with 10 different mental illnesses. She frequently has manic induced paranoia. All of the fans making these comments are from accounts she follows and interacts w regularly, they’re also on her Patreon. On her patreon and discoed, she literally asked her fans to attack and harass anyone who said anything about her - there’s a mole in the group (a few!) and screenshots were shared of some of these conversations!! KZfaq absolutely has to give her some kind of consequences and punishments, otherwise what’s the point of TOS and all the crazy rules they’ve been making up?!? So about the brushes thing. There is this thing it’s called dropshipping. I actually think it’s worth a quick KZfaq search. It’s basically a company selling factory items that they get for 50 cents. Like the metal straws they don’t actually save the turtles. They are 25 cent straws that the company pays as well as free or 1.00 shipping. That they then sell to you for 5.00 that they say is just to cover the shipping costs. But really they make 4.00 to 4.50 on every purchase. For every 100 things sold it’s 400$ profit. The more you know thanks for reading. I just feel like so many people fall for this. I used to be a drop shipper myself

i remember when i used to get recommended all those 'get rich quick' youtubers who would talk about how much money you can make from drop shipping. at first i thought it was a good idea, but then i realized how BS it has to be - there's no way to ethically do something like that. the fact that privileged americans can sit on their ass and make tons of money while people are stuck working in factories and sweatshops just to afford to eat... crazy. im not calling you out though! i blame the people who promote the practice
@natemayne2861

Bellanthea it actually was pretty amazing money. But you are right the only thing you have to get over is it isn’t very ethical. Even the lying to the consumer like selling a 1 dollar shirt from China to some poor person in America for 40 dollars. They think nothing of it either

I don’t like ricegum too and breaking her phone was horrible but, if you think about it, gabby did say ricegum doesn’t have any creditably and she was going to talk to him before even telling him about the situation. He multiple told her “no”, but she ignored him and keep asking, I will get mad too. Especially it was a long day for him. But breaking the phone was bad, so he could of just walked away, and ignore her. But then, she’ll probably post that saying ricegum ignored him. But the allegations are lighter.

Honestly, if she just acted more a bit more maturely, she'd be fine. I know it could be an emotional thing, but she just has to learn that it's okay to admit you made mistakes in a situation, and you don't have to. respond to everything. Pick and choose your battles. In the joke stealing clip, even then, she admits she was obsessed with what people were saying about her instead of spending the holiday with her family. It's only gotten worse. Hopefully her break from social media helps. She clearly doesn't have a healthy relationship with it.

I'd like to point out that Gabbie was criticizing drama channels for using the tags of her apology video as a way to villainize her, not for responding to her original video. She was also criticizing them for plastering the name all over their videos when they had no personal interaction with the the victim, whereas her old video was her recounting a story that had affected her personally and involved somebody she knew, and tried to keep the victim anonymous. The fact that it reached the family was because her viewers actively searched out articles about the classmate and contacted the family, which really wasn't her fault. The making of the video was a good idea in theory, as she intended for it to send a positive message-- which it did, for the most part. What she could have done better was the level of anonymity in her recounting ( such as keeping the classmate's gender unknown ). The drama channels' fanbases were taking the tags of the apology video the wrong way, assuming that her including them in the tags was a form of attacking them and saying 'I was right, you were wrong, take this'. It seems that in her perspective, due to her past interactions with the internet, the drama channels' fanbases were trying to say that she was doing that, when she was only making sure the apology got to the right audiences. I hope this doesn't come off as needless defending-- I've never heard of Gabbie before this video, and I only know what I've seen here. Hopefully this provides some insight, since the tone of the section about these things is somewhat aggressive and harshly accusatory when it didn't have to be.

Exactly don't use your mental health as an excuse rather than saying "I was anxious that's why I hit you, sorry!! Be accountable for your actions and say "I should not have done that but I did and I'm sorry, I fucked up and I owe you an apology." Your anxiety may drive you to do things on impulse or out of a fear reaction but you're still in charge. You're still responsible for what you do to others when you feel that way.

Exactly. As a person with depression and anxiety, it’s just kind of insulting. My view on it is this: when you have a mental illness, you have a reason for your actions, but never an excuse. You should be held accountable just like any person without these illnesses. It’s not that hard to still be a good person even with something as heavy as a mental illness.

@@hawkwing8840 I get that completely, I just noticed her tone when talking about and only using the word story....she wasn't talking about it in my opinion genuinely, it came off more (Her tone and the words she kept using), as something that did happen but, it is scummy to bring up, I find it suspicious, that everyone she knew back was offended to that extreme, maybe it is only because she shouldn't have brought it up on youtube....but maybe she's also exaggerating it too, it kinda reminds me of just a little bit of when someone does commit suicide, which is horrible and tragic, but everyone is saying they were close and making it more personal then it maybe was to them. I mean I say story when referring to life experiences but I use it as a distancing method so that way I don’t feel attached to the trauma. I don’t think it was a lie I just think she has had a lot of (what she considers) traumatic experiences happen to her. Which then creates a dissociation from the experience.
