This is a real "golden-oldie" composed by Dimitry Bortnyanski who served as a musician-composer way back in the court of the Russian Empress Catherine the Great. I've always loved this hymn of praise because the words & the melody are simple, beautiful but easy to sing. The Holy Scriptures teach us that the act of combining petition with praise is a very effective way of gaining God's attention. King David recorded in his 22nd Psalm, "You, O Holy One, are enthroned on the praises of Israel (i.e. God's children); in You our fathers put their trust; they trusted & You delivered them."
How glorious is our God in Zion,
No tongue is able to describe;
He's mighty on His throne in Heaven,
And in each blade of grass He's great!
Throughout, our Lord is great & glorious
Though day or night, He shines unchanging!
