Beautiful ring. I love to see the more traditional methods of gold smithing still being used. Thank you for sharing. May I ask if that was solder you used to join the ends or was it a thinner piece of gold used to speed up melting and fusing the joint before the rest of the gold melts? If it is solder, may I ask what karat strength? I always melt my pieces when using pure gold or silver when I'm fusing and it would be nice to have a high karat solder that doesnt effect the entire piece. Sometimes I will roll out a very thin piece of the same metal to fuse the joint since the thin piece usually melts first. But it doesnt always work.lol anyway. Again, great work tfs!

You didn't show how to make that collet. Also which method you fixed that stone? You didn't do bigil/bair underneath. How that stone gonna staye on ring? It'll sleep off while fixing stone. Or is it glued? I'm really curious.

@INFINITE REX it’s similar in hardness to fine silver which I where all the time. I’ve worn fine silver rings for months without deformation and I’ve been wearing a silver chain for months that has not shown any signs of damage whatsoever

Fine silver is soft than other but it never damage fast according to making design
