I bought this for my girlfriend as a Christmas present, but i wanted to get her the retrotink 4k but couldnt afford it. If she isnt happy with the picture quality of the hyperlink, then i guess i will spend the $325 for the retrotink 4k

@chillmatic4331 were both very impressed with this. Highly recommend. With shipping it ended up only costing $100. We were going to buy the retrotink4k. But we're more then happy with the hyperkin, so the retrotink won't be necessary.

Well got mine and tested mine only got 2 normal flat screens at are a 46inch 1080p and a 50in 4k. They honestly still made the games look pretty bad even with a mcable and mclassic at same time lol. Pulled out my 13inch 1440p 144hz and they look almost as good as a the gta trilogy on ps4 minus the clear sight distance. I dont have a pc and capture card and the little 40 sec from cell I recorded dont do it any justice. But I'm happy I'll be able to enjoy my ps2 games better then I expect. Thanks for the video review wish I would have got one sooner.

One thing I learned after I made the video is to make sure you don't keep the cable turned on, since it comes with a USB for extra power. It's super cramped and can overheat easily, and that's the main issue I've heard from people. If you keep that in mind you'll be golden

Does this work with gran turismo 4 or any of the 1080i games supported? Im looking for a good hdmi cable that can support progressive scan because I've had horrible experiences with ps2 to hdmi.
@yanghao83519 ай бұрын
It only goes up to 720p because it uses the RGB signal from the PS2. I used it for a while on my PS2 but moved it over to the PS1 because the images were too dark and I got better quality from the component cables directly into the tv at 480i.
@HellTantrumbull Жыл бұрын
They want you to spend $200 buying an all in one box that supports every resolution in the world and then spend another $50 or more trying to find the right cables needed for the best image quality possible for each system. 🤬🏹

they actually work pretty good BUTTT, the first one i got fried my damn monitor. i think it was because i plugged the usb power cord to my outlet that has a usb port and it was too much power going into the usb? idk but when i connected it to my pc monitor it fried my shit it instantly turned my monitor off and it created a big ass spark where i plugged it in with the hdmi. it fried my monitor and fried the hyperkin adapter. it only worked when i plugged it into my actual HDTV. so now i ordered a new one, and im not gonna connect it to the outlet this time and i wont even try to connect it to my other monitor this time hell nah. im just gonna connect it to my hdtv this time. that was so wack. im giving it a 0/10 because it fried my monitor. until i know the reason why my monitor actually fried i can give it like a 7.5/10.

@yanghao83519 ай бұрын
I just use the component cables directly into the TV or I use a component cable upscaler to 1080p HDMI. I moved the hyperkin over to my PS1. It works better on that console (minus the too dark images)

sorry for late reply. My wii cable makes the picture green. This could possibly be due to poor build quality

Hi, I have one question, Can I connect the USB cable to the TV or PS2?
@chillmatic43312 жыл бұрын
So the USB is just for extra power the cable needs. Pretty much any USB port should work. I think I did use the USB port on my ps2 at one point and it worked, so you should be good. If not you could actually use the block on a phone charger and plug it into the wall too. That method worked for me as well :)

I have a Hyperkin cable for my PS1. It looks "good" but shadows are too dark and the dark areas in a game are too dark. For example playing Diablo is difficult because it's just too dark. I can adjust my TV brightness but the image comes out muddy/washed out like the stuff you have at the beginning of the video. 😆
@TheKayliedGamerChannel-YouTube2 жыл бұрын
Why would you need a separate retrotink for each console... You just swap out the leads input or get a Scart switcher...it's still 4x $40+$95 .. $255+ switcher... but not $500+ lol 😂
@chillmatic43312 жыл бұрын
I mean yeah you're not wrong, but at the same time I don't know if I wanna tear apart my setup everytime I wanna play my wii instead of my genesis, yanno? Retro tink seems much more quality and seem like it would last much longer but I feel like the hyperkin cables shouldn't be shunned for having a lower price
