Patina is actually the aging of copper and it turns green over time, which is why you see the green tongue tag and extra laces. Patina’s happen to many metals but copper is the most known for its light green color change. See old copper roofs for example.

That is my favorite jordan colourway. I always felt the Jordans were too “basketbally”, so even though I liked them, they simply didn’t work with my style. I feel like this color scheme makes it look less like a basketball shoe and more like a boot - I really like this aesthetic. Plus they remind me of something Han Solo would wear, always a plus in my book hahahaha

I got 2 pair! The Patina will rise because of the mature cool theme of the shoe. It seems timeless.

I *love* my patinas, man. Quality, soft leather. Smooth suede. They are understated head-turners with the black laces, outright with the mint. Love 'em.

These 1’s are slept on! I switched to the mint laces and the color block makes them go crazy. They are versatile and can be classy or flashy. You pick!

Patina is not only oxidization, but the reaction of various chemicals (including sweat) and abrasion, general wear etc that gives an "aged" look to an object. Especially, it gives some vintage watches an amazing look. These shoes...they look fine, probably not fire. It's hard to give objects an artificial patina without making them look like try-hards. But IMO this is a good job and a good look.

Nothing specific to do with rust. It is more of a synonym for ”wear and tear”. Anything from a chevy to a shirt gets some sort of patina over time. But besides that, fantastic review as always 🔥!

Got mine. It's a high and nice leather in toebox area. Unlike other J1 recently released mostly suede. Colorway is fit for office setting as well, so it's a win.

After seeing these, I had to INSTA cop on StockX, these are insane. Rusted Shadows give it a somewhat camo/military vibe. Love the rust on the swoosh and the mint hits really set it off. Gonna put mint laces in mine as well. So fire!!! :P

Patina is when high quality leather becomes soft via exposure brother. If this was a true brown leather (that would turn into patina) it would be tight. But it’s gaudy like half the Jordan’s out there. Could have been cool.

I've patina'd plenty of steel and stainless. Patina can be many different shades/colors, but yes, it is a chemical oxidation, but most patinas include a dye. You can acid wash steel and get the rust look, but that is not a patina. It's how I make black stainless, or bronzed steels that rich people like in their houses. lol btw these dropped March 25th.

I agree there have been too many colorways of the 1, however I also believe that why I like this particular colorway so much is because it is not a traditional color.. and how many Jordan 1 Chicago's do you need?
