Easy to install and doesn’t take up a whole lot of space. Keeps my apartment ice cold in the summer.Also cuts the power bill in half compared to running the in house unit.

Thanks for your review. I am a truck driver. It seems that ecoflow designed it to be used as a companion to energy storage products. However, I don't have any EF power storage products on hand. It's a pain in the mouth to connect the battery while charging. It weighs close to 50 lbs, and it's a pain in the rear to move this big guy around every day. With all this in mind, I went with the mark2.

Mine ended up being ~1400ish after taxes. Solar powered and don't need to get a diesel heater anymore. The battery can also be used as an expansion battery for the Delta2

The price will come way down as production and competition increase. In order to make this even more practical, I would like to see some sort of a closed water loop option where you can disconnect a couple of quick-connect fittings like the ones for hydraulic attatchments, to use a detachable remote radiator to get rid of the heat. Also, imagine if they did the U-shape thing like some window unit AC's, except upside down. The middle of the unit would have a slit all the way up to near the top so that it could be made to rest on a partially rolled up standard vehicle window. Only the condenser part would be outside of the car.

On cooling, does the condenser coil draw outside air to blow out the heat? If so, how with a single duct?

Hi, thank you for your video, quick question: For heating purposes, In the winter the air intake part which is outside towards the cold environment will get frosted and will covered with ice , how could it still suck the air inside then ? even if it is connected to outside through the duct I'm pretty sure in cold winter it will still get covered with ice and frost. my question is , can it still operate in that situation or no ? Thanks.

Now that we have some cold weather, could you do a more thorough review on the heater side of things. For instance, if it’s 32 degrees out, what kind of heat/temp can it bring to a tent?

Do you think this could be a possible add-on to a cabin in the mountains? I have a cabin with electric baseboard heating and a propane fireplace. During Winter I keep the cabin at around 55 degrees when I'm not there. On very cold days (negative temperatures), the baseboard heating really struggles to keep up and it will often be 51 or 52 degrees when I get to the cabin, requiring me to fire up the propane fireplace and after a few hours I can get it pretty toasty. But it takes a few hours. I've looked at mini-splits but I don't really like the permanent nature of the install (it's a real cabin with solid hand hewn wooden planks) and the cost even with self install would be several thousand dollars. I'm wondering if this Eco device plugged in at the cabin into a wi-fi outlet would allow me to hours before I arrive, turn it on heat and boost my small 1000sf cabin internal temperature up several degrees? I'd really have no use for the AC as this would be at 9000 ft of elevation.

Only gripe I have is that the battery can’t be charged separately away from the unit, it looks like they must be attached to charge. Im totally still buying, but I would totally be down for buying extra panels and batteries, for like a week without sun.

Successor or "comes after." Predecessor means "precedes" or "comes before". Seems like a moderately interesting unit, but where are the COP and SEER ratings? Also, why would you need a reversing valve in a portable unit? Couldn't you just have a hot end and a cold end and you point your desired end the direction you want it?
@diyhvacguy
@diyhvacguy Жыл бұрын
I realized the predecessor thing after I published this haha that’s what I get for trying to use fancy words 🤪 I’m not sure on the reversing valve question. But it spits out hot and cold from the same vent so it must have one. I don’t think I’d buy this myself, but they wanted to send it out to create a video with so I said why not?

@HeyChickens
@HeyChickens Жыл бұрын
It would be way too hot in an attic to be able to get much cooling out of this. Plus, all the heat it is trying to pump will just fill the area around you and make it even hotter. You would be much better off putting a portable AC down below and using a small flex duct to pipe the cold air up to you. You could put a 90 degree elbow on the end of the flex and have a clip that holds it to a truss somewhere above your head. You might also want to try putting something super reflective white on the roof ahead of time, mainly the part you will working under of course.

I don't get it. Why put a battery in a heat pump? You can get a 8000/6000 portable heat pump for $300 at Walmart. I think external battery with inverter would be cheaper and more versatile.

Nice product but once again, corporate greed there’s no reason for them to force you to buy their expensive battery that’s way over priced. You should be able to run this system with an external battery or a solar system directly without having to purchase their battery otherwise a pretty nice product.

You can run it from most of the other Ecoflow power stations, or solar panels, which is why it is sold without the battery. Still it's too pricey for me.
