Iverson's story with mike brown is a perfect counterargument to todays culture of unsurmountable egos that demand their coaches to be fired and have a copout on their idiotic behaviors and delusions of grandeur. In order for AI to achieve greatness, he had to first humble himself and observe other greats as he did exemplify mike and magic then he humbled himself again and had an Honest discussion with his coach, he realised his mistakes and trusted the right people. This thing takes enormous balls to do and make a meaningful change to Yourself. Mad props to my childhood hero and every 90s kid. Thanks for this video man truly inspirational story!

I'm sure majority of 90s kids wanted to be "Like AI" growing up in the 00s. ❤‍🔥 He was our MJ growing up. I even watched his game when he had to leave the NBA and went to play a bit in the Turkish League. Besiktas Cola Turka #4 Also, DPOY+6MOY and they said it's a one man job. 10-32FG & 5-27 and the team still pulled through the W. Fans really needa put bias aside and give credits when due! Both the 01 Sixers and 11 Mavs aren't a one man job. Both are really well crafted teams 🔥
@WutTheDeuceGaming
@WutTheDeuceGaming Күн бұрын
I dunno about well crafted. That Sixers team had to be defensive because they had no scorers and Mutombo was at the tail end of his career. He couldn't move well or jump well anymore on top of thinning out, which is why Shaq absolutely tossed him around down low. He had lost all the muscle mass he had in Denver where he was a rock solid center. From top to bottom, that team needed to make a move to get some shooters. Aaron Mckie might have won the 6th man, but he won the award while averaging 11.6 points per game. Not exactly a point total you see winning that award and he only shot 31% from 3. Even their best bench player was a below average outside shooter. That will be one thing I will continue to criticize that Philly front office for, never getting AI outside shooters to kick the ball out to when he needed to. If he had shooters out there, this team could have won that finals against the Lakers. The Mavs, I will agree were a well crafted team. Dirk had a lot of guys to turn to for outside shots and they had great defenders on that team. He was however, undoubtedly the reason they won that series. He willed them to the victory late in those game.

There are not many bigger Allen Iverson fans than myself, but ai have to say that yes he was the best player on his team and one of the best in the league and one of the greatesr players of all time. But the team and style of play that Larry Brown and the 76ers built around him with Snow, McKey, Lynch, Hill, Bell, Ratliff (later Mutombo), Geiger and Kukoc all perfectly complimented AI's game and they worked great as a team. Iverson's teammates were as unselfish as he was and deserves some respect for doing being that way. I loved those teams.

Allen Iverson was an amazing basketball player. I don’t think people really understand just how good. There are rumors that back in the day, he would score 50 to 75 points in Pro AM games. I don’t know if that’s true, but I wouldn’t be surprised. He was just that good. AI could have gone on to achieve even greater things in the NBA if his career hadn’t been cut short by injury. He was one of the most gifted players to ever pick up a basketball, and he will be remembered as one of the greatest.

He's easily the coolest player in 2000 era. He's literally your idol's idol. If you have to compare someone to him from today's era, there isn't one. AI is a cultural phenomenom

6:00 Larry didn't realize AI wasn't his employee or subordinate, a coach is (to be a little simplistic) is a sitter & teacher. an aide to the 5 on the floor and the bench depth.

The fact that he was able to put the team on his back isn't some new concept. It's been done for years by great players, but there was something about AI that was just different. I grew up watching MJ, and he is THE GOAT, but Iverson is my second favorite player of all time.

Being called a ball hog with no shooters, just energy players is crazy. Nome of his teammates could avg 20 points on a different team. Until Toni showed up there were no shot creators and even Kukoc was a liability due to being on decline
