67 was before my time but it makes me so proud to think that Glasgow Celtic, my team, the team I support, were the first British club to win the biggest prize in club football. Yes we won every competition we entered but Dundee United who finished 6th in the League actually beat us 3-2 both home and away proving perhaps that sometimes no matter how good you are or what system you play there will always be teams who you struggle to overcome.

They so very nearly made it to that Cup Winners Cup Final in 1965-66 and to those European Cup Finals in 1971-72 and 1973-74 but for Internazionale and Atletico Madrid . They had incredible strength in depth in that squad . STEiN was able to see and use all the formations that I can possibly think of . These were definitely copied by AJAX . STEiN would have been a fantastic manager of a UK team , say , at the World Cup in MEXiCO in 1970 . 1967-74 Celtic were the best team in the UK and one of the top half dozen in Europe The Quality Street Gang who followed immediately after the Lisbon Lions were also immensely talented with players like Dalglish, Connelly, McGrain, Hay & Macari in their ranks.
