Michter's US*1 Small Batch Bourbon has decent availability in most markets. Michter's 10 Year Bourbon is heavily allocated and highly sought after in most markets.

OUR OBJECTIVELY EXCELLENT SUBJECTIVE SCORING RUBRIC:
We use common sense “thumbs up” scoring where one thumb equals one point, two thumbs up equals two points, and just okay is worth half a point in any given category.
Up to 10 overall points are available across 5 categories:
• NOSE: Aroma
• FLAVOR: Taste and overall flavor profile
• EXPERIENCE: Overall experience on the palate
• RETAIL SCORE: Price and availability
• CONSUMER SCORE: Would we buy a product again or not
Nose + Flavor + Experience comprise Tasting Score.
We then add Tasting + Retail + Consumer Scores together to determine our overall Real World Score.

Good honest content. I like the random pairings where you don't even know what you are comparing because even names can skew your opinions.

1000%. The only way for us to be fully objective is to have no idea what’s in either glass. That’s why all our head-to-heads are totally double-blind like this (plus to us it’s the most fun by a long shot). We may not come across as smart as others pulling out nuanced tasting notes, but we’re here for the most fun and most unbiased content possible. Thanks for watching Bo!

Great video! I have not had either one of them, but for a 10 year bourbon, I would rather have a SP of Eagle Rare and buy a bottle of Rare Breed with the difference.

Thanks Tim! There’s certainly a LOT of competition and alternatives in the price ranges of both of these bottles-distilleries can’t rest on their laurels if they’re charging premium prices.

This is such a great video. I've been coming back to Michter's lately. My issue with the brand is that there is SUCH a gap in price and availability between their normal core US-1 offering and the 10-year. I have only seen a 10-year once in my life in Boston where I got a pour - I recall the flavor was very light and floral. But for the price and the hype - I can't do it. When I'm in the mood for a very solid, "classic", relatively low proof, and pretty available bourbon, I'll go with the US-1 all day. I think it has some similarity to Buffalo Trace

I was so excited when I found and bought, unfortunately in that $220.00 range #fomo, a bottle of Michters 10 year bourbon. It is so heart crushing that for me it has been a bottle filled with regret :( ... A really great blind :)! It is some consolation that it is not just my novice bourbon experiential database.

Great review I’m really not surprised.... Flavored- do you see straight on the bottles because I don’t. Sourced- sure would be nice if they would disclose who’s actually distilling it. Overpriced- self explanatory IMO Obviously they score a 10 on marketing and label making Last but certainly not least, I’m a tator on this one.... I fell for the hype and bought a few! Sucks, all I had to do was spin the bottle around and read the label.

Just had the michters SB for the first time. And while I do like the flavor and sweetness, it is way to mild. I don't hate it. It was boring af. But I don't feel I'll be reaching for again anytime soon. And I wouldn't buy it again.
