Sir please I got my hair loss through hair chemicals and most of my hair is thinning and I bought regain three Weeks ago and I'm experiencing shedding please please for how long will I notice new hair back on

Hi Currdis Kofi Agyemang, Sorry to hear about your problem. Minoxidil won't thicken your hair, or stop hair loss, but it appears to delay the hair shedding cycle, and extends the hair growth cycle so you appear to have more hair on your head. You will have to use it daily to sustain these effects, but these effects can also decrease with time even if you use it daily. Since minoxidil delays the hair shedding cycle, and prolongs the hair growth cycle, if you stop using it, you will likely have a significant hair shed. Hi Kelly Richardson, Yes, it's actually ideal to have the treatment done within 1-2 months after transplant surgery, but we have also consistently improved transplant results of people who had their transplants done years ago. African descent: Am I able to have a hair transplant on scarring alopecia? Is hair regeneration the same as prp treatment? Would prp help traction/scarring alopecia?

Hi Keisha Richardson, A hair transplant is actually the only procedure that can treat severe traction alopecia where the hair follicles are damaged beyond recovery from the constant, and tight tension of the hair. Non-surgical treatments like TrichoStem Hair Regeneration can thicken thinning hair due to pattern hair loss, and stimulate hair growth from dormant hair follicles, but it cannot revive hair follicles that were damaged by traction alopecia. We do use it in patients who androgenetic alopecia or pattern hair loss, who also have concurrent traction alopecia as shown in the video. TrichoStem Hair Regeneration is not PRP alone, as it requires only 1-2 treatment sessions that last 3-5 years; PRP alone requires multiple, and constant treatment sessions, with only short-term benefits. Hi Bashir ibrahim, We don't currently offer the treatment in South Africa, but we do have many patients from the continent coming to the US for treatment. Since it is a non-surgical treatment with little to no recovery time, and in many cases no additional treatment, you don't need an extended stay in the US. Many patients actually get back on the plane home the same day as treatment, but I don't recommend this for everyone as it is dependent on general health condition and age.Some patients with advanced hair loss may get a second treatment 15-24 months after the first, and results for international patients are monitored through Skype, FaceTime, or email follow up.

Can finasteride work if you have traction alopecia?

Hi Shawnwayne Tibara, No, unless you have concurrent male pattern hair loss. Finasteride is a DHT-blocker, and DHT causes hair thinning in men who are sensitive to the hormone, so the drug slows hair thinning. Traction alopecia is damage to the hair follicles caused by tension, usually from tight hairstyles. I hope this clarifies things for you.
