Special operators are trained to arrive at their objective in a variety of ways, from rucking long distances, parachute jumps, or swimming unseen below the waves. But who do they call when they need a ride up an enemy contested river?
That’s where the US Navy’s elite Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewman (SWCC) come in.

I live in Virginia Beach, home of the East Coast SEALs and I have a little story about a second hand SEAL boat... A friend of an old boss of mine got ahold of one similar in style to the ones in the video that were pushed out of the back of the aircraft and were seen in the water in the following portion of the video. When the SEALs are done with the boats they would ram them with forklifts destroying the hulls to make them basically only worth scrap metal (The hulls were made from aluminum). Well this guy is a machinist and was able to repair all of the structural and outer skin damage to the boat. He put two of the biggest Chevy crate motors he could in the boat and the boat was ridiculously fast, so much so the first time he took it out of Rudee Inlet (Which is directly into the Atlantic Ocean) he was stopped 3 times that day, twice by the local police and once by the Coast Guard. I don't remember if it was the locals or the Coasties that told him "We just wanted to see what you've got in this thing (motors) because we can't catch you! HaHa. When he started the boat in the inlet, if the exhaust wasn't ported down through the water (it could be directed below or above water) you could hear the boat idling at another friends house over a mile away!!! Awesome boat I tell you. Growing up I always surfed on either side of the jettys at Rudee inlet and often we would see the SEALs leave in those boats full of team guys and head out over the horizon, about 30-45 minutes later the boat would come back... with out the guys, they would have to swim back to the base (Dam Neck) that was just down the beach from where we were surfing.

While most of that area is aircraft reliant, there are thousands of miles of rivers available. The Euphrates and Tigris in Iraq are like 3k miles combined plus several smaller waterways. Afghanistan has a dozen rivers hundreds of miles long. Helmand is close to 1000 miles I think. Don't know how strategic they are for boat guys but they are there.

Ok stupid question I was in the Navy for 20 years and someone was trying to pull stolen valor crap on me. What the hell does the term "Pull Rack" mean. Only thing I could think of was when we used to trice racks on the ship or when you pull the rack on the M-4 or the M-16. I think maybe I am having a brain fart but I can't remember a time using that phrase ever.

Lonny- A lot of kids watch videos about stolen valor and then feel they have the right to walk up to complete strangers on the street and demand to know their military service. Don Shipley, former Navy seal, as a video out telling these guys that it’s not their job to be the worlds police, especially since most of them have no idea what they’re talking about.

I love how the boys jump to the fantasy that girls have changed all the requirements. The reality is the military has changed its requirements because the boys nowadays are so out of shape. Look at the army, their physical fitness test is based on whether your job is secondary or active now.
