Fantastic video Conor! I think it is super important to empower people who struggle with foot issues because they are so disempowered unfortunately by modern podiatrists on the whole. Also, would add let's get that tib anterior ripped and do some talus mobs to really open up the mortise joint and get that calf to chill out!! Awesome stuff, can't wait to see more!

I can’t believe that just found out how my pain comes from the lateral right side of my body from hip to toe they keep giving me different opinions and exercises that never work because they weren’t addressing the right issues. I have pain from hips to toe including glutes, tailbone, tight hamstrings and the worst the pain in my legs and feet I got tired very easily and I just learned that I am breathing wrong that means I am a completely messed because my whole body is is affected I don’t even know how to start. The road ahead is long but at last I found the meaning of all my pain thank you so much for sharing

Thank you very much for this video! I have a very high arch and low support from the midfoot which tends to point my feet inside. I wear foot insoles to compensate this problem. My question to you is, is it good to also wear inside shoes with it, and then try this exercises when i have them off? Balance is the key

Hey Conor. I’ve got patellofemoral pain/ patella subluxation. This video explains a ton! I’ve got Externally rotated hips/ tibias / femurs. Then when I try to change direction my kneecap is getting pulled into places it can’t access. You think focus on pronation is important? Anything else I should focus on? (Poor hip ir/tibial rotation)

My heel walks right off the inside of certain shoes. Can't wear flipflops at all because they twist sideways too. Now I have horrible knots in my psoas/hip flexors and my right side glutes have completely atrophied. My feet don't point out in a V at all tho. Lots of ankle sprains over the years and I had to have an ankle reconstruction surgery at one point.

I think I have this. My ankles compensate I think, so I my arches are high while I walk/run, but my ankles "pronate". I've done a shit tonne of excersices, about 30 min to 1 hr a day! (Stuff like balance, short-foot, heel raises, toe yoga etc). I'm also always most tired in my calves, on the inside after running.... So it's not like it's not an issue. Usually run 100 k/w.

I didn't walk with the feet pointing out, because I was taught to not do it, so instead I walked with the outside metatarsals and smaller toes, that apparently developed into a styloid process in the fifth metatarsal; I certainly walked with the legs rotated, though. In my case I was forced to use really old school orthopedic leather boots, that tampered me.

I have horribly high arches. Getting nice shoes to fit is almost impossible! I did used to walk with my feet out, but as a child my mother always scolded me for doing it, so now I don’t. I did start going over sideways and wearing the outer side of the soles of my shoes unevenly, for which I also got scolded. I’m guessing that was maybe because I had to force myself to walk with my feet in! It’s better now, but at 46 I still wear my shoes down a little unevenly on the outer sides

Hi Conor, I run in college and I’m doing around 65 miles per week now. When I went shopping for a new running shoes the salesperson suggested I should get an insole for people with high arch. I’ve never used one before and the shoe actually feels so mouth better with the insoles. Do you think I should use them or is it better to not use them?
@conorharris

If it works, it works. I would keep using it if you feel it is truly beneficial. Sometimes giving our brains a sense of something to pronate into can be quite helpful.

With how the video explains heel strike… It’s unnatural. Forefoot strikes the ground 1st. Basically to test the ground to insure no sharp stones or twigs before putting your full weight on the foot. Try running barefoot your body will only allow you to go a few yards before it forces you to switch to a forefoot strike. Heel striking is unnatural.
