Only 2 things that may be the difference. A) Your bar does look smaller than all the other bars used in the various challenges. B) which metal did you use for your challenge? Lead is cheap but about 40% lighter. And a lot of the heavier metals like platinum are just as expensive or harder to come by. Depending on both questions, your practice run is either viable or not viable.

The real gold bar is 20kg (44 pounds). The one used in the video is about 8kg (17.6 pounds). Most people with small enough hands to theoretically grab it this way can't lift 20kg with their finger tips long enough to get it out of the box; and most people strong enough to lift it have too large a hand to fit it through the hole even if grabbing it correctly. My wrist/hands are actually too large to even fit through the hole in the box. From what I've looked up online the hole is only 85mm and my wrist is 100mm across. (for comparison I'm 5'8" and wear XL size gloves, wrist measures 216mm around, 100mm across at the bone. I could lift the bar, but the hole is too small to even play. For anyone with small enough hands/wrist to get into the box, most would struggle to manipulate that much weight with fingertips. You can't just grab around it like you would a dumbbell.
