In this video, I’m going to show you exactly what I did to get my first 3 clients in 30 days.
The first thing I did was I let EVERYONE & ANYONE know what I was doing!
Because I was making a transition and I was starting this new agency, I had to let people know. So, I utlilized Social Media, I called people, I sent out e-mails, I attended Networking events. I basically wanted make a point that I was starting up this new venture.
So that’s kind of the general explanation, but to break it down further - I leveraged my WARM NETWORK, which consists of: friends, family, co-workers, colleagues, and other business professionals.
For me, I previously owned a Commercial Loan Brokerage, so I had a lot of business contacts that I’ve had relationships with already. And trust me, I understand, many of you may not be in the same position as me. But let’s be real - we all know at the very least, 10-20 people that know us.
So, I sent out a simple text message updating them about what I do now and if they or if they KNOW someone that is in need of the service to contact me. I want to say, I sent out a total of 50 texts and 30 responded to me and out of those 30, 5 were interested for themselves and another 5 knew someone who was.
I think it’s easy for newbies to start cold-calling right away and talk to strangers. Which isn’t a bad thing. But, I feel that tapping into your warm network right away is going to create a lot of momentum.
I discovered that you want a lot of attention right out of the gate, and, who’s better than the people that already know you?
In addition to my warm outreach efforts, I continued create content. If you have been following me for quite some time, you know that I post quite a bit on my social media channels. Whether it was fitness, or golf, or now - social media stuff…I found that putting yourself out there and sharing knowledge, really puts you in a different light.
Because my Agency revolves around Content Creation with Online Video, people who had been following me, already knew that I was into that. And now starting a business with that service, it was a no-brainer for them to reach out to me because they know that I can already do it and do solid work.
This is really going to propel you in your niche/service, because not only are you putting your face out there, but you’re establishing yourself as an authority in your space - especially, if your content provides great education & value.
So going back to the 5 people who were interested in my service themselves and the other 5 who knew people who were interested in my service - 7 of them had already been following me on Social Media and have been seeing my content.
The next step in the process was to book the meetings and to hold our Demo Calls. I will say that these Demo Calls didn’t have much pressure to them, because again, these people knew me and it was a warm contact.
Long story short, I was able to close my very first client, a General Contractor, who we signed to a Website Creation deal with. And he had already told another friend of his who owns a restaurant about my service, so I was able to meet with them and get them signed on as well for a Video/Social Media management monthly deal.
And the 3rd client, was a Realtor who we signed to a Online Video and Social Media Management deal with, which is still going really well.
So, at least in my case, don’t overlook your warm network!
