**UPDATE**
I ended up selling the roof rack from this video and I built an improved version of it. The new video is on my channel if you'd like to watch it.
The new one also has a full template available that you can use to build the exact same rack without having to measure anything!
Template & Instructions:

Out of all the diy roof rack builds I’ve watched on KZfaq, I’d say yours looked to be the simplest and cleanest! I think I will take more of this approach for sure, great video!

Hey man! Thanks for this video - super easy to follow allow. My roof tracks only have 2 (either side) of the "sliding things" that allow for the extrusions/mounting feet to screw into. Do you know where else I could source some?

Man I am so glad I found this video. Your rig is beautiful, I just acquired a 98 the same color and plan to build a rack like yours! I have a stack of scrap aluminum i just need to see if they're big enough, what is the height of your side plates and front plate??? Thanks!

Thank you, I'm glad you found the video useful! The sides are about 4" but I'd go a bit smaller if I was to do it again, maybe 3.5". The front I will have to measure in a few days, the 4runners in the shop at the moment

Just need to ask….what was your all-in cost? I know what Sherpa and PrinSu and Victory 4x4 go for. Just curious if this was worth it price wise vs buying one of the mentioned? Obviously prices on aluminum will be different depending where people live and supply and demand. Just wondering a rough estimate. AWESOME video BTW. Thanks
@aramschannel
@aramschannel 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! My all in cost was roughly $550 USD. I would say the most expensive part of this was the mounting feet that I ordered straight from sherpa. Not only are they expensive but I had to pay for shipping to Canada AND duties once they arrived. If you could figure out your own mounts, this would be significantly cheaper! I am actually planning on potentially selling this one and making another with different mounts. I would like to cut the price way down :)
@keatonstone207
@keatonstone207 Жыл бұрын
@@aramschannel Hey, I made some really simple mounting brackets that would probably work great for what you’re doing. Just 1in aluminum stock with thru holes for m6 bolts that screw directly into the factory rail nuts. Then some tapped ¼ 20 holes in the middle 1in apart to accept t nut hardware. Ultra low profile and super cheap!
@aramschannel
@aramschannel Жыл бұрын

@keatonstone207
@keatonstone207 Жыл бұрын
@@aramschannel I’ve got photos but sadly I don’t sell them. The version I made is a little fancier since I used a milling machine, but the version I described could be made with a drill press. If you want pictures or blueprints I’d be happy to provide!
