so for those wondering about how nibiru works is that it can be activated during a main phase so aporia had said proceed to end phase and Javier who had nibiru agreed then he would not be able to activate it but in this situation aporia just clicked endphase without asking if Javier had anything to activate before going to the endphase so Javier is allowed to activate as in real life the opponent be like I end my turn and the other play would say end of main 2 nib which would be legal

but aporia is not responsible for whether or not javier has a response. that responsability falls on javier. and if he has a response, he needs to state that he has a response at the end of the main phase so there is no confusion. yes aporia is still rule sharking here, but there is also a case(all be it a very week case) to be made that javier faild to communicate that there was a response. although if he is activating nibiru, it is very clear that the intention was to activate nibiru during the end of the main phase because nibiru cant be activaqted anywhere else.

@@jeremiahriley663 The responsibility falls on Aporia because he went into the end phase without waiting or asking for response. They cannot just go "end phase lol" and when they try to activate Nibiru since you didn't give them a chance they go "no you can't, it's the end phase" Otherwise I could win with an unga bunga 60 card normal monsters deck, I just go to the end phase without waiting for response and after you draw I go to my draw phase without giving you any time to do anything because I feel like it, or I can skip your main phase, battle phase or whatever

@@jeremiahriley663 per official rules your opponent has to agree to move to the next phase. So in this case aporia would have to declare his intent to move to end phase and then javier goes "end of m1 nibiru". I see no issue just clicking on EP on duelingbook so lang as the opponent is allowed to go "end of main" but aporia just said "no we are in EP because I say so". not how that works lol.

(and at 17 started playing exclusively blackwings in yugioh with their release in 2009?) wouldnt that be more lining up evidence?

IMO, IP is a good way to catch alts as seen here (both accounts used blackwing decks, had a name ending in 92, were obnoxiously rule sharky, and answered to each other's names), but I really don't like sites that assume that all accounts that use the same IP are alts of each other. There's the classic "kids who use the family computer" victims, but also the less considered "poor family who can't afford more than one computer", "even poorer family who can't afford a computer and uses the local library", "people who play at high school", "VPN users", "currently on vacation at a hotel", "using free wifi of the store they're at", "using their friend's wifi", and so so many more that can create all kinds of false positives.

And yet the line has to be drawn somewhere, you're responsible for others on the same network(because multiple computers can use the same IP if they're on the same network), its not assuming everyone on the same network is an alt, but rather that they are clearly in the same household, and so share responsibility in the attitudes that household displays

@@syrelian A library is a household? A hotel is a household? A VPN is a household? McDonalds Free WiFi is a household? A school is a household? IP is a useful tool for finding and banning alts, but on its own it is not enough proof that an account is an alt. The line has to be drawn somewhere, and that somewhere is where enough proof exists that such a ban is not arbitrary.

Reminds me of a guy from a forum I worked for. Dude got banned and kept evading so his main account kept getting longer and longer bans. But he just kept coming back and every time I knew who it was but the head mods refused to believe until he did something blatant to let everyone know so I just ended up sitting back and laughing after the 6 month one. When he'd PM me with something because I was the main one around at all times, I'd just respond to him with his original name so he knew I knew and we both, probably, had a laugh about it for a while. Took like 20 months when all was said and done. Probably would've been a few weeks if they'd listened.

Whereas him calling himself to be his own brother cemented the case, the fact that he "responded" to the name doesn't really mean much. It seems to be just a continuation of a discussion and if someone is not aware that MICA is a "person" and think it's just some obscure reference, code or whatever, they might "respond" ignoring the bit.

I think the funniest part is what Mika had to lose if he was going to end step on a field of Strix/Redoer.. Don't you just chain Redoer to Nib? Do you need to keep the Strix SO badly that you're willing to risk a sharking warning, especially if you've already been in trouble?

@@Boristien405 it's a "cool" way of spelling using number and symbols instead of letters. So in this case, you could read aporia92 as some variation of apor1492 or @p0r1492, you dont normally write all of it in leet, so some letters will stay in. It really is what you would expect from a kid that says "it's my brother". :v

that was the entire point. Question for all players. If I use Red-Eyes alternative Black Dragon's effect when he is destroyed. Does that make the original attack of Red-Eyes 4800 as Alternative states the the original attack becomes 4800? Only reason I'm asking is say I did this effect and then later on during the main phase I use Megamorph which again doubles the original attack. Hence the key word on Red-Eyes alternative (it becomes double) opposed to the usual double the original attack.

The Red-Eyes that gets summoned off of RE Alt's effect goes to 4800 base ATK while the former card stays on the field. So as long as the former stays in play, Megamorph will double it to 9600 (19200 and 38400 for extra copies, respectively). But if the monster in question leaves the field and is re-summoned a different way (i.e. other than RE Alt's effect), its base ATK resets to 2400.

Because they were rule sharking. Technically, he is correct, you can't Nib in End Phase, because Nib specifies that you can only use it during the Main Phase. But in a real life game, you would declare you were moving to EP, and the opponent would say "End of Main Phase 2, I activate Nibiru" because changing phases passes priority to the opponent, giving them a chance to respond before actually changing phases. Because DB doesn't ask both players to confirm the phase change, Aporia/Mica attempted to move to End Phase and say "It isn't Main Phase 2, so you can't activate Nib", even though moving to EP passes priority, and therefore does allow the opponent to Nib at the end of MP2 before actually moving to EP.

Coder, I need help in this ruling: On my turn, I summon exa Beetle and activate its trigger effect to equip the opponents Raye in GY to exa beetle. I activate the second effect of exa beetle, targeting the opponents Shizuku and the equipped raye on beetle to send them to GY. Does Raye trigger the effect in GY?

I ain't coder but by my understanding is that because Raye is not in the GY at the time of destruction, you can not resolve Raye's effect

from my experience with master duel and skystriker decks. in this case. Raye would not resolve because its detached at the same time the target goes to the grave. the detach is apart of the chain used to destroy, so unless they had another raye in the GY, they could not resolve the effect along the same chain as its not in the grave yet and after said chain its too late to activate. Edit: removed a confusing sentence.

You're suppose to declare you're going to End Phase, and it seemed he did not declare it. In real life, it is equivalent to the opponent saying "I end my turn" and you saying "I activate Nib on Main Phase 2." I believe that move is legal since it will be considered your opponent declaring they are ending Main Phase 2 and entering End Phase.

What Observer said. Whenever you want to end a phase, you give your opponent priority, letting them do something, before the phase changes. In this case, Mica wanted to go from MP2 to EP without letting his opponent do anything.

Not directly, but it can be used as evidence, they have no way on their end to know if you're bullshitting them or not, so they have to make rules that assume the worst and advance from that position with things, they're not hard and fast "You get banned no debate because a ban previously occurred" but rather you don't get to avoid scrutiny under the argument it was someone else, if you're being a decent person it shouldn't really be an issue, same with time frame gap, but if you start causing shit and they look and go "Huh, someone from this place caused shit a couple months back, thats suspect" it makes it significantly more likely you'll get slapped for it Also that assumes you even have the same IP at that point, its not uncommon to change ISPs as roomies handling the plan move in and out, or you have a dynamic IP

from what i gather, basicly being an absolute pain in the tail for everyone involved. Like in the example here, a small misunderstanding happened and he tried to swindle a free win out of it. Basicly just skirting on the edge of cheating without actually breaking rules, like asking your opponent to cut your deck out of nowhere and calling a judge saying "they illegally cut my deck" when they do.

He's banned for rule sharking. Basically what happened in this video, the opponent made a legal play (because changing phases passes priority), and he attempted to spin it in a way that it'd be an illegal play and get them disqualified.
